Yeah you are right about them working on multiple things at a time. However, not going to see WIP-features does not correspond with the WIP-cars we have seen in the previous video, does it? Since it's clearly WIP.

And I've been around long enough indeed to know MM likes to show art more than anything, but I've been around long enough as well to know that bandits and the like have been promised (partially) a long, long time ago.

 

I'm not negative, just anxious to see them implemented.

 

Yep, Bandits have been pushed back due to AI issues, but now that there is a dev just to work the AI, here's to hoping to see them in some iteration of a17. :crushed:

As 7D2D is near future, I would like to see the Duke of Navazgane have a business suit, glasses and hat made of Graphene imbedded spider silk! He would be almost invincible! His face would be the only place you might be able to hurt him.

 

If Graphene were as thick as saran wrap, an elephant could easily be held up by it.

 

Do we have a Casino prefab? there should be one if there is not already one. a place where one can spend Casino coins, see a statue of the Duke, break into some elaborate vault. etc.

 

it would be a bonus if instead of the usually breaking a door you have to pick the locks or use something to open like win a jackpot and it would RESET.

I'm not negative, just anxious to see them implemented.

 

New vehicle system is in A17 though. It's implemented. That's what was showcased, not the car.

there is an important question for me to MM and TFP: Me and other server owners are suffering from heavy server load problems and high RAM usage. Also the game seems to keep stuttering all the time, when RAM usage is getting higher, but not even when my RAM is fully used. I see many server, that don't have more than 20 player slots caused by performance problems with the game.

So what I want to ask is, are there any plans to improve the stability of the game, especially for multiplayer? Maybe upgrading the engine of the game?

There are a lot of issues with 7DTD and going above the 8-16 players.

 

on my servers with up to 40 players I have found CPU and RAM to be average but I/O to be an issue so I moved the savegame folder to an Enterprise class SDD. this has made a big difference. I also host at InterNap in Dallas next to Google and have very fast connections with server response in the 4-7ms range.

 

so if you can split your game into two drives with the save game on an SSD that will help. some of us also found restricting mini bike engines to 300 or lower helps with chunking as does discouraging the use of drop mining areas of more then 8x8x8 or just banning it all together.

The problem with 7 Days at the moment is, despite the mechanics and the interesting gameplay, it does feel kind of stagnant with the same meat from all animals and the limited food and drink stuffs as well as a lack of variety in vehicles and whatnot.

 

Have you tried out a mod with variety in food and drink stuff? Really played it for 20 or more hours? If not, play "war of the walker" for example, lots of food items, lots of workstations, lots of weapons

 

Did you like it? That is the important question. I can only answer for me, but all the food stuff in wotw is just filling up space but not producing any variation in game play. I always concentrate on getting a stack of ingredients to the best food I can grow and mass-produce that. And ignore all the other food. Or if I get meat, well that sometimes means meat stew has a different name, but does exactly the same as meat stew. So why would I care?

 

 

You know how people go on about the limitations within 7 days (of item slots)

 

Not sure if there is a limitation with items. As far as I know the limitation is for blocks, i.e. stuff in the world instead of stuff in your inventory.

Ok, I just checked my wife's PC, and yeah, she IS showing an update. Shes on the latest stable, and we've been running starvation for weeks.

 

shut down the games and both of you go to the kitchen and fix a nice meal to stop the starvation.

 

oh yeah, there has been no 7dtd update for public in over a month. :)

 

but if you all are just yanking chains, well then... continue cuz the yoke may be on me. :)

He has indigenous themed guards, kind of like Apaches.. perhaps the Duke isn't a modern business suit dressed entrepreneur that we expect?

 

Its possible. What was the Native American tribe that predicted the fall of the modern world? Maybe they are in harmony with the new "nature" and can control the Zombies. Maybe The Duke is a powerful "Medicine Man" who controls the 7 day hordes?

 

It would be the end if part 1 if you kill him I would imagine. So, some protection that makes it an extremely hard task to do would make it the most fun for me anyway. Maybe a series of tasks to weaken him first?

LOL.. I'm tempted to back up her install and see what it installs... but we have a starvation server running, and if I muck up her install, she'll be on me like a zombie bear!

 

BTW, I really DO think the developers should assign someone to look at some of the feature rich mods out there like starvation.. offer them a buyout, and incorporate the already completed content to the game. Its a win/win for everyone.

 

The extra crafting stations make sense, look good, and are ready to go. My wife is really enjoying the farming additions like plant diseases and pesticides, and has a small farm of chicken coops and rabbit farms. Its added a LOT of additional stuff to do in the game without any negative play effects I'm seeing.

BTW, I really DO think the developers should assign someone to look at some of the feature rich mods out there like starvation.. offer them a buyout, and incorporate the already completed content to the game. Its a win/win for everyone.

Steam Workshop integration would be en even bigger win because it doesn't mean hunting down individual features...

I for one would love to have more slots in the backpack (there was a discussion for a while on that) and some new foods, items, War of the Walkers is a great mod that has a lot of good new foods, items, but the problem I see in that it a lot of the recipes need meat and that is very hard to find, bear stew, rabbit stew are just a couple I remember, but I hardly ever see game while watching some play it, and they are out and about traveling, but very little game shows up. Without that food they find, I think they would probably be starving all the time.

There is a lot of great loot, but I think a bit too much. I would love to see it be the middle area of what is in the game and what that mod game has. Especially that zombies who are hard to kill finally have something worthwhile spending the time killing them instead of the nothing that they have now.

The POIs, those are just awesome, and it would be great if the fun pimps could get with the developers of that mod and buy some of their work, but I don't know enough of how it would affect the game long term, interact with what is in the game and will be added to the game.

I admit to the wondering of if it works in a mod, why can't it work in the game but know it isn't as simple as it seems, maybe? I don't know and I am willing to go there has to be a good reason for it not being added, besides the most important that it isn't part of the kickstarter list and so is set aside for later review.

Right now, on why we haven't seen anything, I am going that whatever was planned by MM to show us, there was a problem, you don't want to show a problem and so it has been delayed. Why not tell us it is delayed, there is a problem? Busy, trying to find the problem, the answer to it and at the same time get the other work that is falling behind because of the problem they are working on finding and fixing.

 

It isn't as simple as it seems, we are on the outside looking in see the nice view of the display room, while they are in the back with the wires, thingamabobs, whatchamacallits, and whateveryit is all over the place. I think of it as a place that someone opened a couple of jigsaw puzzle boxes that have 1000 pieces and tossed them all over the room and they are trying to find the pieces and put them in the correct box.

 

Use your imagination and picture them in a room full of equipment and looking for those physical puzzle pieces and then see them as the ones inside the programing and realize it can be a huge, royal pain in the a double s to find and fix, give them some time.
