Playing with my joystick comes naturally. Though I do prefer mouse and keyboard for gaming.

 

I can throw it naturally. On the other couch. The sound of sliding the keyboard and mouse in front of me makes some cell in my organism happy. Its just better.

Weird side note, cannot find the arrow rest skematic nor the mod itself in game, it comes up in the search bar with the iron icon, but have never seen it anywhere

is there enough data for a mod that shows who in a party did the most damage? something to measure the effectiveness of a team on a BM night (blood moon not bowel movement) .

 

Why would there be something like that?

How are you going to measure effectiveness of someone shooting a pistol against someone who built traps?

Why would it matter anyway? Its not a WoW boss on enrage timer.

I don't think it's wrong to ask for a mod that does those things since you don't have to download such a mod if those stats are of no interest. The only thing wrong about the request is where he made it. It should have been made in the discussions and requests subforum in the modding forum.

I have 2 questions regarding the lockpicks.

1 - It says here that lockpicking safes is confirmed. Do they work on doors too? It would be nice to have them work on doors too if it's meant to help with stealth play.

2 - C4 was meant to be used to quietly open safes and doors I think. Is C4 still coming? If so, what would you use it for, now that you can open safes more quietly with lockpicks. Would you use lockpicks on safes and C4 on doors maybe?

 

Technically yes, but we will set our xml to no, until the level designers can decide which doors can be unlocked and which ones will be "barricaded" or "jammed", something like that.

 

C4 will make some noise now that we have lock picks. For the brute force guy, who cares. Still beats a pickaxe and will be THE way to raid bases.

No the issue is fairly unrelated to the level of detail of the textures. Textures that extended over several blocks in A16 has been squished onto the area of a single block / one square meter in A17. Ofc the level of detail makes it even worse in some cases but imo it's not the main problem. You can easily check the size of the patterns in textures for A16 and A17. The following example is even one of the more benign:

The result is that you get far more repetitions within the same area. All textures in the current Alpha seem to use this kind of scaling.

That simply isn't true. It is hard set now, but its 512 pixels per meter. So if you want it to tile over 2 meters you make it 1024, if you want it over 4 you make it 2048.

Madmole I have been searching on all your sites my wife said she has made our base look good but wants a damn waterfall and I cant find anywere if that is possible found one on unity but I dont know if I can bring it into game and have the water texture moving on it if this is possible would love to know if not would you please add the option of scrolling textures after all a happy wife is a happy life and I am going nuts trying to find this for her

 

Currently its not possible. Your best bet would be to make a particle effect block that spawns custom mesh particles with your texture in it in unity. How to get that into the game without having the unity project I have no idea.

 

Down the road if we switched to hdrp, then it would be easier to do it like you are wanting, still you'll need unity.

YES! This sounds excellent. I haven't actually played Fallout, but I probably should as I've heard it's an excellent game.

 

 

As for 7d2d, it would be cool if you could have a CD player, but it runs out of batteries every few days so you have to buy more/recharge/find them.

 

Or to go really Fun Pimp's style, go retro and, seeing as you can already carry a bazillion tons, add a Jukebox that you can carry around and you have to feed casino chips in to play different songs. Lol

 

Very immersive, I think. Fun Pimps, pay attention! Be the first game ever (again) to implement this. Create (more) history with your game!

I always wanted an mp3 player at my base to drown out the spooky stuff.

Related to electrical devices: handheld flashlights (that dont have a separate battery) should damage over time when turned on.

This would make using them more engaging. The players would use them more sparingly, and use the torch as a backup.

Well then, that should mean a bit of optimizing the texture code by TFP, right? Nothing we client users can do...

no problem with my controller other then i cant use them :)

 

 

i hate gyros... i tried one in real life when i was a teen many moons ago... i didnt have a good experience. :)

 

not picking an argument just saying it works for me unless there is a different brand that is causing the issue.

 

We are using the ps4 dual shock controllers, fully supported in steam. I wonder if there is some way to reset it in steam in case some old a16 setting is still working against a17?

BTW, can you try targeting the spotlights or a motion sensor as well? In both cases, I need to use the mouse because the cursor won't stay on the preview to select it. (It does work rarely, but not all the time.) Its like its being limied closer to the center of the screen, and it bounces back to its boundaries.)

@Joe: THANKS! I can confirm after resetting

default controller settings the gyro, motion detectors and spotlights all work as intended. I also think that resolved the steam onscreen keyboard issue we were seeing, but I'd need to reopen that more times to really confirm that.

 

Sadly (and possibly still not changed) push toggle to run on vehicles has still not been changed. I recall Fataal saying that it made sense, but no one ever implemented it. I think also adding side banking when turning would also improve the gyro flight controls. I think on kb there are separate keys for side to side bank, and the fewer control keys for flight the better, and it'll be more realistic looking as well. (Maybe the side bank can easily be added in the xml?)

 

BTW, controller use with the gyros is VERY smooth and works perfectly now. The key is not over controlling with them. Try it again, but just tap a few times to adjust forward bank, instead of long pressing... it takes a second or two for the change to gradually adjust visually. (as it should)

 

I'm used manux's pedal gyro (only difference is it unlocks with the motorcycle and uses stamina for power instead of a gas engine) and landed perfectly on the top of our 8x8 horde base shark cage, and on top of the 16x16 firestation roof.

 

Now I need to paint a big heliport "H" on it.

 

That springs an idea to mind... can paintable images or decals be scaled? Seeing a big Trader Joel's billboard, or a circle for heliports would be nice.

i am very glad to see that a simple set default fixed it for you... i had same issue when it was fixed.. alloc informed me that the fixed setting will only be applied when you click on default button. (believe me... some people just get down right upset when i/we suggest something like set all defaults and or turn off mods)... only to find that usually fixes things but not many will come back and admit it. That is not a 100% thing tho. :)

 

as for trying the controller.... not for me, i am creature of habit and been playing games since mid 80s on pc (what ever was available at the times), and at 61,,, not changing now... arthritis is slowing me down and havent the strength to hold a controller. i just test it and thats it.

I am newbie here, and the only thing I wanted is to share my ideas. I don't know how to make my post look interesting or attracting because I just don't have any experience. Sorry if I'm annoying anyone
