COMPOPACK PREFABS VOTING 2020

Hi folks

 

I started this thread to get your opinion about your MOST FAVORITE and also MOST WORST prefabs from the COMPOPACK

goal is to weed out the prefabs that most of the people dont like.

And also get a clue of what you people do like to see.

 

It would be nice if you could tell me lets say the 5 best and 5 worst prefabs from COMPOPACK

(dont mind if the numbers are higher or lower than 5 - its just to get a little overview)

this vote belongs to all the prefabs that are available atm (xcostum and also xvanilla)

 

with that Iam gonna start with my list of the best and worst prefabs

 

most best:

xcostum_shootingrange(by_magoli) (wierd somehow)

xcostum_SuperStore(by_Volar) (outdated - need complete store-overhaul)

xcostum_WulftownCD(by_WereWulfen) (outdated - just a duplicate POI of wulftownA and ManorMansion)

xcostum_PeerCafe(by_Stallionsden) (wierd architecture and painting - also kinda outdated)

 

there is a bunch of more prefabs I do and/or  dont like for several reasons

(some of them are to small or to big - some of them has wierd architecture or painting - some of them has to much or to less Loot - some of them are just to difficult or to boring - and so on)

 but so what - these are my lists - NOW ITS YOUR TURN FOLKS

yes - i agree:

xcostum_Bunker(by_Pille)

xcostum_Cave1(by_NAGGcommunity)
xcostum_InsaneAsylum(by_Genosis)

these are very nice

 

xcostum_SlumsA(by_pikero)/xcostum_SlumsB(by_pikero) has to be merged to 1 single prefab to handle it in rwg (else the 2 parts spawn away from each other)

but the problem on that is the size of the prefab - Its just to big - it is simply not spawning in the world - thats the problem

I hope there will be a way to let it spawn somewhen in the future because it is indeed a very very good Prefab

atm I see no chance to let it appear in the world - even if its added manually after worldgeneration

Honestly All of em should stay.

Some have been in the cp since the begining and for memory. Yes can get to updating them over time but yeh.

The big prefabs do spawn BTW mags, My hotel is bigger then the slums and it spawns :-D....

Esp with Nitrogen there is no limit to size (Nearly)

But yeh leave ll the prefabs in there. If we have to update them so be it but yeh memories man lol. 🙂

really ??? Ur Hotel spawns ??? Without any performance laggs ???

 

If this is true I really see a good chance to let the slums come back to CP

 

Only problem is now to merge Slums-part-A and Slums-part-B together to be One file

Also maybe a block-convertion from A18 to A19 is needed

 

But atm I have really no time for that - maybe after Iam finished with all the works on my todolist

 

Iam also used to all the prefabs tbh - yes we got a lot of memories on them - but some of them really needs a very nasty update to fit into the current state of art of the game or just have to go IMO !!!

Maybe ya'll should just list your top 10 or so. That way we keep the posts positive! I am very grateful for this though. It will help me to create a prefablist of everyone's faves.

there are horrible outdated houses etc in the real world as well lol. Alot that need renovating etc lol. But they stay like that for years.  Lol.

 

Just saying having the bad ones in there isnt a bad thing its resembles parts of the poorer places to in real life.

alpha 16-17 was the worst for community pois, not just the block conversions that had to happen, the paint ID changes were brutal. especially the textures that were "new" that replaced old textures. it was blackscreen tv, metal cabinets, and closets everywhere. that's what made a lot of pois look so shabby.
17-18 was mainly block conversions, 18-19 was pretty tame, in comparison. it's more block additions that happened this time.

all the "empty" versions of blocks they've added are fantastic for filling areas with eye candy, without having to turn places into loot pinatas just for them to look good.

and people that think "man, i wish i could build a poi, but can't", should think about some of your old favorites in compo that could just use a fresh eye to decorate them. decorating is MUCH easier than building and very fun and relaxing if you're not poor magoli with hundreds to think of at once. if even 10 people re-decorated 1 poi each, it's a huge boon for everyone, imo.

i feel like that the "bad ones" in my opinion are bad due to consistant empty containers... like 10 containers that never have anything in them.. just a waste of space and time. Enemy spawning way too early for the gamestage.. On day 1, my 1st fetch quest sent me to a huge building with locked doors and i had to break my way in and was mauled by a feral wight. 

so, they just need updated and then they won't be "bad". Also the glass blocks are invisible and annoying. I love this mod, and the new POIs, but a lot of them need to be removed until they are updated. or at least have an Updated only POI version. If i knew how to figure out the names of the ones i think need to be updated, i'd make a Prefab list with only the "good" ones.

u could use the ingame-prefab-editor to find prefabs - U can browse throw the thumbnails or just load the prefab and see it in 3d

this way u should be able any POI u want in a short time

And in addition to that sadly the ingame-editor doesnt work well (tbh the truth is the editor is NOT ready to work with atm related to 2 MainIssues(bugs) (WATERBUG/SIZE-CHANGEBUG)

I have no idea what the specific POIs are but some seem to have an overabundance of loot (and that special stone axe? ) and no sleepers.. I think all POI's could be good if they are balanced with sleepers/loot and look somewhat nice

Prefabs have been updated with sleepers and they are having the mags go over atm.

Idk magoli the greats time schedule lol but yes cp45 should contain the updated prefabs 🙂

yes, and i don't mean to sound like i am rushing him. that is in no way what i am doing lol. i understand hard work is time consuming. i'm just excited to play through the POIs I have grown to love.

Least Favorite:

Actually have most of the stuff in the prefabs set to "unique" for nitrogen.

Pet peeves include, but are not limited to:

Blocks painted to look like containers but aren't.

Huge footprint, no action (big PoI's with few spawns and little loot). Looking cool doesn't count for much if there's no real reason to go there.

(Jammed) Storage Chest/Crate/Drawer empty containers and/or Apache Artifact chests everywhere

Improvised closet/truck doors and similar made of cement or other inappropriate material.

etc.

 

PoI's I've prevented from spawning at all:

xcostum_TheSphinx3(by_Andyjoki) (bad performance from, presumably, all the torches/candles)

xcostum_ThemePark(by_stallionsden) (phantom blocks always happen for me at this PoI, with the new clustering of wilderness PoI's in Nitrogen it's even worse. Also many of the structures are pretty unstable, wrenching something or breaking a block can cause mass collapse. Real shame, it's a great PoI with plenty of action).

First off, many thanks to you and everyone who contributed buildings to the CP. My friends and I started our first server with these a couple of months ago and really loved the variety.

 

Favorites:

xcostum_AltenburgCastle(by_Horst) -- would like to see a lot more zombies inside it, though
xcostum_InsaneAsylum(by_Genosis) -- atmospheric as all hell
xcostum_ModernArtGallery(by_Pille_TopMinder) -- this is a work of art in itself. So creative!

xcostum_WaterPark1(by_NAGGcommunity) -- lots of action everywhere except for in that obscene loot chamber off to one side

xcostum_Spirallibrary(by_Tom) -- good balance of risk/reward, and you've gotta love the books

xcostum_SkyDiner(by_Tom) -- looking forward to hang gliding off the roof of this

xcostum_Roundhouse(by_Tom) -- easy on the eyes and plenty of action

xcostum_Lost_Joels(pseudo-trader)(by_DMC) -- totally sucked us in the first time (and some of us more than once)

xcostum_Multi_Trader_02(by_War3zuk) -- convenient if you can make the jump (I don't do it half as well as some zombies)

xcostum_Library(by_War3zuk) -- could probably use a few more sleepers for balance

 

 

In Need of Some Attention:

xcostum_nepa_base(by_Eihwaz) -- maybe throw some sleepers in there so you have to clear it before you get a solid bloodmoon base

xcostum_LittleLeagueBaseball(by_Curmudgeon) -- great idea, but loot is totally over the top (60k dukes or more on a run without perks)

xcostum_StripClub(by_Wsiegel) -- no sleeper volumes

xcostum_Pawnshop(by_magoli) -- no sleeper volumes

xcostum_NSiteMissileSilo(byEphoie) -- regularly get 70+ repair kits from the garage alone, and don't get me started on two dozen unguarded boxes down below

xcostum_house_modern_02(by_Kam) -- looks great, but the entire building and backyard is made of adamantium, making it a PITA to get into the panic room

 

 

Granted, this is my experience running CP42 or 43 in A18.4. Some of this might've been addressed since then, and if so, you have my apologies.

Say I'm running through a POI and I like it, or hate it; how do I find out which one it is, so I can mark it down? Is there a console command or some kind of information/debug panel that displays the occupied area?

I know I can use the POI teleporter to tour them, but that doesn't help in identifying POIs during actual gameplay.

 

One I can remember off the top of my head that bummed me out was a strange open design house with a lot of clear glass blocks all over the place that made it hard to navigate because I was constantly running into invisible walls, no loot to speak of, wooden blocks painted to look like lootable objects, and no zombie spawns making the Clear quest I was on impossible to complete.

 

I have a dozen or so more near my current base that are overly plentiful with loot, more that would benefit from minor tweaks like unlocking a few of the reinforced doors, others with no clear path into the poi short of smashing high HP walls/doors/fences, and others that just have no purpose like glass house up there. Once I can figure out how to identify them I'll start compiling a list.

If you have access to debug mode (type "dm" in console) then you can press F3 to bring up menu that states the POI name that you are standing in.
