Another pet question.... I was luck enough to get a panther cub. I made a toy to toss and he should bring it back.... Instead, he went and ate it without returning it.

 

Do I have to check his inventory somehow to retrieve it, or can you not play fetch with panthers?

 

Also, how do I feed him? Same as with the dog, or is he care free?

 

Not sure if this changed A15-16 versions but the pets aside from the dog could not play fetch and require no food.

Hey guys!

Where can I get gauge for big generator? Or, how I should place Lathe?

 

The lathe has to be placed next to a Failure Relay only. As for the gauge, they are found in Working Stiff boxes but they're incredibly rare. I think it's worth adding a recipe to address that issue..

Farmer harvest counts?

 

My farmer only receives 4 sunflower seeds when she picks. They are planted in fertilized soil so I should be getting 8.

 

Is this a bug or do they only pick based on tilled soil amounts? That would seem like a waste and I'd be better off planting my own crops.

 

yes, it seems farmer harvest result ignore fertilized soils and yea planting your own crops will always yields better results. so, just activate your farmers only during the time you need to travel looting and when you're going to be offline, the farmer will tend the crops even when you're offline. crappy yields still better than no yields.

I'm trying to understand how to use crafters. .

I've made smith station and mechanic and assigned 2 survivors..I thought I could craft all I want but apparently I can just make 1 recipe..I need to make them spam that to level up even if it's something useless to me?

What happens if I food finish while I'm offline? They die and I need to craft the station again? Or I can just assign another survivor?

Yes and No. You do have to spam-craft to level them up to get what you want out of them. However, you can teach them alternative items to craft if the level is appropriate to their skill level.

Seems that they will indeed die and vanish. I had to craft another stattion and assign a new survivor.

 

In the end, just make sure they have plenty of mats and food to last a long while.

 

Side note: The recipes you see bu can no tcraf are things above their current skill level. as they skill up hose will become available.

Trying to press 'insert' while wielding the PSG-1 Rifle to attach a scope doesn't work, neither in or our of the Weapons Workbench. Numpad doesn't work either. Anyone else having this bug?

 

Odd, it works for me just fine. Might be a bug on your end. Try varifying your files and rerun he launcher?

Ok it seems something went wrong with those crafters. . Smith and mechanic died even if the cook was making tons of corn bread! They were all in the same room.. 100+ corn bread in the refrigerator. .

Is the fridge range so small I need a fridge for every station so they don't die?

 

I tryed to teach smith to make axe pickaxe shovel but he don't want to learn them..he actually learned wrench but it's quite expensive to level up with steel...

Mechanic should be learning weapons parts but he didn't want.. I etched him nails but if I select the job I don't see mats and even if I ve put them in box he don't start working..

 

Bug: the bloody coyote (I think it's that.. it's similar to german shepard) have the hitbox messed up. .I think it's like impossible to kill it I shoot at him 40 50 bullets but it don't get hit.. seems like don't have collision bullets go through

Thanks for the reply. I relogged yesterday and it worked just fine. Strange thing is that I've seen someone else mention this bug too so I guess it does happen. Just needs a relog people.

Fridge has to be within 5m for them to eat from it.

 

If you can see the recipe in the list but not the mats, then they need to skill up to use that recipe. Grind out the levels with the basics.

Hello.

I tried to do a defense of the base. First row fire traps, second spike traps and two last rows of normal spikes . It turned out that fire traps have a range of 9 blocks, spike traps have 6. At larger range the traps do not work and there are errors when setting them up - duplicating pipes. Is it possible to extend the range to 20 blocks?

5 blocks is such a small range..I'd make it little wider to have workers a a bit more spread. .

As for the recipe he learned the nail and i can select it but it doesn't show mats..it's different from other recipe above his level where I can't select and assign the job.

 

The doberman dog you talking about is the vanilla dog and I can oneshot it melee..the one I've problem is from starvation I think.. the bod don't take dmg.. and I've shoot it with psg1 and scope a mag in the face while it was running towords me: no blood animation no dmg taken I died.

When I shoot from distance with this rifle while stealthed I oneshot almost everything.. that's why I think something is bugged

One of my unassigned female survivors just disappeared recently. I thought it was intentional because I was a horrible leader and left her starve, but who knows maybe it was a bug.

So I downloaded the ServerMod from GitHub (zip file download) and loaded it up on my bluefang server. Server kept restarting and the output log gave the following error:

So I'm taking the contents of the "7DaysToDieServer_Data" folder and uploading it directly to my server. Only the files, not the sub folders. I noticed that the files in this folder aren't a part of the ServerMod download from Git. I assume they're generated. Didn't work...

---- UPDATE: FIXED? ----

 

Kind of figured it out. After several reinstalls on my hosted server, multiple trimming out installed files (deleting folders, folder contents, etc), it seems like even after updating to A16.4, with Verify Files enabled, some files aren't compatible with the mod. Whatever the case, after wiping the server, all installed files, and then reinstalling on the server, I was able to get the server started. Haven't started playing yet. That'll come later tonight. But at least I'm past this point.

zombie bear problem

 

Basically we killed a zombie bear and when i harvested i got a tamed zombie bear which was exciting so built a zoo/cage for it and placed down the zombie bear now we are getting a null reference error exception: object not set to an instance every time i interact with the bear. I tried killing it using guns, rocket launcher, 50cal but nope. The bear doesn't seem take any damage. I don't mind reverting back to a backup but it's a multiplayer server and if i can avoid it i would like to take that option.

both gas and heat pipe has default range of 10 blocks from the original source (gas tank and boiler) vertically and horizontally, you need to put gas/heat valve in-between of those 10 blocks to extend to another ten blocks from the valve. see the starvation wiki for more details.

 

duplicating pipe bug happen if you install the pipe in a kinda messy order. the system might confused about from where the original energy source are flowing.

First, I love this mod! There is one thing that bothers me and that is the amount of animals that can eat your face in a second. Now I like the show called Zoo, but would rather pretend I was in the Walking Dead. Is there a way I can change the spawn rate or replace them with the old spawn?

Yep, the Spawnrate of animals is to high and it would be fine if we can adjust it with the serverconfig.xml
