  1. Vitamins first. Then the shamwiches. Don't forget, extra levels in cooking and you can make better foods using the canned stuff. Fish Tacos, Chili Dogs, Sham Chowder etc. Even a few farm plots for taters/corn/shrooms and you can stave off starvation. If the can doesn't have a recipies option, go ahead and eat it. If it does, try and save it to make the good stuff later. Also, Iron stomach levels slow down the food drain too. Personally, I do bacon and eggs just until I can make the better stuff. Chicken rations/cat/dog food gets eaten rather than stored. (yes, dogfood can be use to make granpa's stuff, but I find enough I don't have to make it) couple of the soups as well. Beef rations, Pasta, PEAS (oh gods, never enough peas) etc you wanna save. (peas get used in several recipies, I'm always running out) Oh, pears are munched. This is all for SP, in MP one takes the cookery, the other the farming. SP is a real balancing act early on. (getting the rotting flesh was covered, and yes, grabbing enough in farming to cut the cost by 50% works, but does take a buncha points...)
  2. There are sealed crates all over. eg: there is one in an outhouse beside a broken old west wagon. (usually there is a snake resting on the crate) Lots of poi that have them as well that are easily clearable very early on. It was always a nice surprise to get a q3/4 pistol/ak early. Rare, but it happened. Now, have to hope for a treasure map to get a buncha dukes, or do a bunch of quests to buy one, if the trader has it. loot tables do need a rework/tweak. I know they wanted to slow things down, and they did, but it's gone a bit too far. Once the pipe guns show up, that should help. (pistol/shotgun/machinegun) Have to wait and see.
  3. once it went stable, and experimental was removed, steam puts you back into the "opt out of all betas". So you'd have to change it back to experimental later on. (I just checked)
  4. This is why I knock their noggins off.
  5. hmm, it's actually there with the POI teleporter. heh. 'course, ya need dm for that.
  6. If it's turning 180 degrees, I had that in A18. Knocked out part of my tower. not enough room in the garage for it to do that. Going to have to do a test and see, is it a 180 or is it trying to align to a specific direction. hrmm.. (it's annoying to say the least)
  7. mischiefmakerapp dot com is a great (and hilarious) addon. single zed, to a horde of them. (and can give goodies too)
  8. I wouldn't mind it just between traders (so you still have to get to 1 of them). Later on it is tedious to take a day driving all over to check on the restock. If ever added, fine. If not, fine. (so really, comes down to 'don't really care')
  9. The backpack slots were too small, I figured out how to get the size back, but wound up with 1 extra blank column. (was using your code and the code from steadman420 120 slot backback) Got the sizes right at least, buttons in the right place and didn't break the save. I think it's just the size of the backpanel, but I spent long enough trying to get it to work, I just said, "I can live with this for now) I trimmed out some of the code from your 96 slot, and just copied over the size for the backpack. adding the lines for the large player storage worked just fine too. I can shoot it over to you as a PM if you want. Edit: pm sent.
  10. by day 80 I'm making them in 10k or more batches across 6 chem stations and 6 workbenches. Of course, I do tend to overdo things.
  11. Repair with just repair kit: loses a bit of durability, but not Q level (no point is screwing with that) Repair with kit and x number of parts: no durability loss. Repair with kit and xy number of parts: restore lost durability. Even if broken, above would apply. On horde night, I do sometimes have to make emergency repairs to the guns. Fine. I don't keep the spare gunparts on me, but, could keep a few if needed. depends on the durability loss. Lower durability means I gotta fix it more often, means lower dura.. so... Smiple in theory, no clue whatsoever about how hard to implement. Or, could just leave things as they are.
  12. ok, I shamelessly used Khaine's 96 slot backpack mod, and updated it to 120, added the playerstorage and it works. Vehicle mod worked fine as is. now to update the server. silly me, wasn't deleting server backups and it filled the drive. 200gb worth. oops!
  13. Looks like 177 may have borked something... loot all causes exception (R key) and the take all button is now greyed out in containers. phooey! here we go again.
  14. Ragdoll effects. Love that. Desert Vulture. portable hand cannon. Punchybot + ragdoll== comedy gold.
  15. You mean riding along, the game crashes, you come back, and the bike is a kilometer behind you? (hitting scrub, gods I hated that scrub)
  16. Who's talking about a base? Most of this behaviour is just in the wild, or clearing a POI. Sometimes they make a beeline for you, others, they really are in search of braaaaiiinnnsss.... 'cause they ain't got none. 😛 The falling damage putting them in Hulk Smash mode is funny. (and I still love the ragdoll/faceplant effects that occur)
  17. How about the idiot that runs past you and starts banging on a tree. I have to smack him in the back of the head to get his attention. oops, too hard, no head. Why are you trying to dig through the steps? Just walk down. No? Ok, have it your way. Banging on the fence? Can you not see that the fence ends just a few feet away? sigh. C'mere you... *SPLUT* There, happy now? Yes, quite a few like that. Sometimes it's hilarious, other times, just sad. 😛
  18. I've actually yet to get an auger. Chainsaw yes, but not an auger. (rng hates me there) The pick is faster than using the axe for rock/iron etc. Mind you, without the ergonomic grip, and points in sexrex, yes, you'll run out of stamina. (I tend to make a q3 or 4 one, and stay with it until steel) The fire axe is faster than stone on wood, and of course, if you get jumped, you can whack the zeds with it then switch to something more lethal. The shovel though, as I said, I'd have to check. I do agree the stam usage on the stone one is waay less than the iron one. I DO run out of stam with the iron shovel, but not so much with the pick or axe. hmm. I don't bother making steel tools below Q5, as making steel takes more resources, and of course, finding enough steel parts. Plus, Q5 means 3 mod slots, vs 2. (so I can go ergo grip, bunkerbuster, iron breaker on the pick. Ergo grip is a must on all of them) I may just spawn in an auger tomorrow, just to try the silly thing. Mind you, haven't found the desert yet, so saving the gas for the vehicles right now. It's all on preferences though. What works for me, may not for you. (eg: if you can't find/buy/make an ergonomic grip, then yep, iron tools are gonna hurt, and stone may work better for you)
  19. They do more damage to the block, thus faster mining. I stay on iron until I can get/make Q5 steel tools. Making iron is easy. Iron axe over stone any day, same for the pick. The shovel though... I'll have to check that next play through. (see the thread on stamina usage tho)
  20. only if you do a lot of mining. SP you probably will. MP maybe not. Other fellow in my one game, isn't going mining, he took the farm stuff. I took mining and cookery.
  21. and on top of ladders. that sneaky one blew me right off the ...blasted.. bldg. also are in attics. be careful, let the zeds hit them first.
  22. Lvl 3 Sexrex with ergo grip, coffee/food buff, yes, pretty much non-stop (even lvl 2 does real well) Steel tools want lvl 4 and the consumables. Which is just fine. Oh, this is with no points in faster melee. Start upping that and your results may vary. (gee, swing faster, thus more often, use more stamina. hrmmm... Who let Capt Obvious in here!!) 😛 I rarely used coffee before. Now I do for the night time mining sessions. I'll go through a whole stack. (3 min for the cheap coffee. can't make the good stuff yet, and need points in iron tummy for it to last longer) Stamina while running has always been a pain, but hey, padded armor, jacket and HP running shoes and you can go a long long time. Crush for the Benny Hill effect. (which is hilarious on a horde night) So, if yer doing it right, you won't run out of stamina while mining. It be that smiple.
  23. I go for 3 in mining/motherload/sexrex asap. Then other stats. Then 4 in mining/motherload. 4 is sexrex I wait until I have q5 steel tools. Then max mining/motherload. A modded Q5 steel pick is a great melee weapon when you learn to time it right. A head popper. (mods: ergo/bunkerbust/ironbreaker) Steel axe does more damage, but if you miss and hit a wood block.. byebye block. Notso with the pick. Axe for the sneak powerattack decapitations though. With the coffee buff and ergo, my stam doesn't run out at all when mining. (I don't use coffee when chopping trees, I just walk between them is all) Biggest thing though, is make sure you get the ergonomic grip asap for the mining tools. Oh, and remember, you CAN swap it between the tools.
