  1. Streamers are often not watched for their playing prowess even though there are streamers like Ninja who are supposed to be expert players. I have also heard of a few 7D2D streamers who are called experts in the game, one of them is playing on extreme with only a knife... Many streamers are watched for the ideas they have, for the comedic potential or just for their ability to entertain their audience. This is less like sports, more like watching shows or comedies on TV. This goes so far that many streamers get themselves in difficulties because it is more entertaining to watch them get out of those than watching them being very careful. Which is called acting. By the way Jason Statham can't jump from a helicopter either, it's a fake !!! 😉
  2. Ok, I'm really confused now, you say you don't get that streaming stuff and don't watch it. But you obviously know the hololive performers in great detail, know their name, their idiosyncracies, the games they would play ? How does that work ?
  3. I've had no problems with big FPS drops on collapses since I got a 2600x CPU. So I would assume any current cpu will be able to handle that. If you are expecting faster collapses though I'm not sure that will happen. My guess (!!) is that collapses are simply capped at some number of blocks per second.
  4. You won't really like what I have to say. The axe already was a formidable weapon in an older alpha (one without perks). The result: Everyone used the axe for melee because it was miles above any other weapon in usability: It was in the toolbelt anyway as it was needed for wood cutting and door crushing and some scraping. Saving one of the limited toolbelt slots and saving lots of switching in pois between fighting and looting. Gimping wood cutting was not an option so the only way to make other melee weapons viable was to gimp the fighting potential of axes. In recent alphas with perks it is a little different because you actually might use other melee weapons because they are in an attribute you are specializing in. But if you specialize in STRENGTH the axe would compete against club and sledge and there must be a reason to choose those over the axe. Anyway, in the early game the axe is still viable as a melee weapon, it just loses out in the late game. I don't think it will get better. As always your option is to mod the game. The knifes may be in a somewhat similar position but they are much less obligatory as tools. Many players do not have a knife in the toolbelt unless they perk into AGI, and the knife line is noticably weaker and more difficult to use as a melee weapon than the club for example. And actually the axe is a formidable replacement for skinning animals instead of a knife.
  5. 3) One member in my group would want that too but I find this makes the start of the game a lot more interesting as you have to fend for yourself at least for a short time. I usually stay where I am for a day or two in a temporary hiding place, get some useful stuff and then join the others. 4) The game can have up to 8 players playing together. Dividing up a loot chest between 8 would make it unlikely to get a single good item out of it and giving everyone a similar pile as a single player would get would make quests in MP go from overpowered to OVERPOWERED WITH CHERRYH ON TOP 😉 6) I agree with TheFlu this is unlikely to happen because it would open up duping issues again.
  6. I'm absolutely flabbergasted how my analogy can be read that way. Are you hunting for things to be mad about ? An analogy is an analogy because some things are similar and some are not (otherwise it would be the thing itself). And the analogy was about the watchers not the ones they watch. This is absolutely identical to a sports spectator. Almost anyone can hit a ball with his foot or hit a tennis ball, even if only 1 in ten gets over the net. And still they watch and don't play. Is it your place to tell them what to do? Did you never ever watch a sports game or are you throwing stones in a glass house ?
  7. I'm down here, you imbecile. Don't make me hit your leg 😁
  8. Surely yes, but the less their usual game play has to do with 7D2D the less likely they are to notice or stream it. Imagine you are a streamer and you usually play survival games. Would you play a new space sim just because it gets a new alpha version? Surely not, you can't play all the new games anyway. Some of those "fringe" streamers have a play list not that far from survival/horror so they just need a small push aka an incentive to select 7D2D. And exclusivity is one way to lure them over. Why? Because they expect new viewers from the 7D2D audience, they expect their own viewers interested as well for a "sneak peek" (just like movie premieres are a draw for audiences as well). Now if you really want to know, ask a random streamer. It doesn't even matter whether he is right about that assumption to get more and new viewers at such an event, if he believes it it makes him more likely to stream such an event.
  9. "TV viewer", "sports spectator", "audience", "media consumer" ? 😉 I've been watching action movies all my live but never jumped from 3 story buildings with guns balzing myself. I know, I know, this doesn't look good, I really should don a cape and mask and hit random people I suspect of wrongdoing 😁
  10. Lets say at horde night batteries are nice but one half of the advantages is moot. You wont hear the generator when 50 zombies moan and an m60 puts holes into the air. The best value for that money you will get if you had electrified your lights, doors or defenses in your crafting base and power those with solar/battery.
  11. This is fine as an emotional speech about respect and wants of players who got to play a game years ahead of its release for a pitiful $20. Which is to say I disagree, but emotions can't be argued about. For starters you first would have to show actually that it is disrespect and that you have a right to a new version of the game immediately when someone else gets it. Which a few people posting before me have shown to be wrong. So sadly your argument is still a bit light on actual arguments up to this point. But luckily you are better than that: Actually an argument and one I didn't think about. They might have seen features that are not in the game when they buy and play it. BUT on the other hand I would think that streamers boast enough of their **exclusive** access to a version everyone else only gets after the weekend. So confusion should be rather minimal, and disappointment about having to wait ~2 days is on the same order as buying something online or buying a new MMORPG and then waiting for a free spot on their server. But unlike those cases a players gets to play A19 in that time which should be almost the same for a novice player that has his hands full with finding enough food and staying alive when entering his first POI. Looks to me an insignificant downside against the proven worth of this marketing stunt Since I never argued about bug fixing being a serious reason I also would not argue for releasing even if I were sure all MF bugs were fixed. This is a marketing stunt which showed its value already a few times and some MF bug being shown in some streams for a game in EA (!!!) is a risk I would take without hesitation. So a streamer shows a showstopper bug and nets no new customers? That means all the other streamers still get new customers for the game.
  12. Did I get that right? The game downloaded by the steam client works but the game downloaded by the steamcmd does not? Then compare those two installs file by file, there must be a difference.
  13. 1) This is a pure advertisement event. This is not about giving streamers a present or thank them. 2) Many non-die-hard 7D2D streamers will be streaming 7D2D exactly because they get it earlier and expect more curious viewers from this exclusivity. Exclusivity is a cheap method to get those streamers (and particularily their viewers) These are the reasons. Unless someone finds a serious counter argument to that he might as well shout at windmills. It is like complaining that your older brother can stay up longer than you when you were 7 years old.
  14. I think Gazz means a separate program for defining and using keyboard macros. It simply emulates a keyboard in software. Can't help you with an actual suggestion though, I'm not a windows user.
  15. I would say you have to use "PerkLevel" instead of "AttributeLevel" if you actually want to increase a perk.
  16. Are we talking about realism again ... in a game where the farmer has a special armor that gives him bonuses on how many potatoes he gets from a plant pot ? 😉 What if the farmer outfit had a kevlar variant and a steel variant ? I don't think there would be different models necessary apart from some shading or coloring
  17. The googles give attribute buffs (and those are similar to perks). You might check them out and see how its done there
  18. I only see ServerVisibility 2 in his logs. Am I blind? What I find strange is that he sees the internal IP of his server in the server listing, is that normal? (the picture he calls "Version error client")
  19. I think this would be a bit overengineered. You can simply ask them if they need food instead. Someone might be low on food but has a stack of 50 meat stews in their backpack, another one might be fully sated right now but forgot to take any food with him for later. I would not want to waste screen space for it personally as the use case is very limited an special
  20. We had no choice. The cook told us to
  21. It depends what they want to achieve with the junk weapons. Junk pistol would be enough if their intention was to achieve that 1) perk points into that weapon category should have an effect on you from day one 2) you can craft a weapon of your attribute and immediately use it with found ammo It won't be enough if their intention was that all ammo is useable right away. I think I heard them stating 1 as their objective once, could be wrong though. If correct this would also explain why Int does not need a junk turret
  22. These connections could be telemetry (i.e. GameSparks sending statistical data to amazon cloud). Just a guess, never looked that at closely ---------------- There is the gameserver.logon error message that happens before any client tries to connect. This points to some validation problem with steam, though what exactly happens is not visible in the log There are null reference errors in the client later. It is probably just a follow-up of the server not being authorized but there is a very small possibility that some setting in the server is not correct. Please delete everything in C:\Users\pi\AppData\Roaming/7DaysToDie on the server. You say "Did you wipe old saves? Fresh Install" . Was that a fresh install of windows with wiping all disks or just a fresh install of 7d2d? The latter would not wipe old saves. And the former would only wipe old saves if you also wipe the contents of user dirs and not only the OS. Beside a bad network driver or some windows setting infering with the game the most glaring discrepancy to typical servers is your CPU. I see FPS:20 in your logfile which is just enough and a few other timings I compared with my own server did not show your server to be slow. So I would say there is only a low chance that that is the problem, but it can't be ruled out per se. Besides deleting the contents of the appdata/roaming directory I would propose another test which will be a little more work: If possible move the hard disk with 7d2d on it to your current client PC and try to start the game from there. Check if the "Gameserver logon" error turns up in the log again. Sadly Windows DRM does not allow you to start the server windows on your client as well but that would have been an interesting test too. If you have linux experience starting the server with linux might be another test to find out more about the source of the problem, be it network, OS settings, game settings, network issues ... Another possibility is that steam recently changed something with its validation process that prevents a few servers from connecting, because there has been a few cases lately. BUT when only very very few servers get a problem and all the other servers don't the most likely source of the problem is local to those servers.
  23. I don't understand this sentence: "It can hit it without durability" Since you posted in the mod forum you probably are using a mod, right? If yes you also need to name the mod as the problem may depend on which mod you are using
