  1. Since it is tier3 it will also drop late in loot, definitely later than head-slot lamps. But that means just one relatively useless mod, that seems ok. I'm sure they would not simulate the movement through chunks but simply wait time equivalent to the distance the drone has to travel. I think the major work would be the UI and code to couple the drone with some container.
  2. One reason for players to want movable shopping carts surely was that they were actually in the world but unmovable. I just saw the video and it seems to me it isn't clear whether healing can happen automatically. The programmer said something about it being automatic. But Nathan immediately used the button to show it. What I didn't get was the use case for the armor mod on the drone. If it isn't targeted by zombies there is no real danger for it except in PvP. Or will bandits later on be able to target it as well as unfriendly players?
  3. This means you are on a page that does not exist 404 is the error code for "page not found" in HTTP
  4. Just use creative mode to get them back. And yes, removing mods while playing is a recipe for desaster. Largely depends on the mod though, for example mods that change the UI can probably be removed without problems, not so mods which change or add items or blocks in the game
  5. So it isn't the jumping of the spider zombie that disturbs you (as it seemed from your posts in the other thread) but even the jumping all zombies do when they want to jump on a block that is in front of them? In that case you may be out of luck. Not because it isn't possible but because it concerns the animations of zombies and that isn't easily moddable. A modder would need to replace those animations with different animations that allow the zombie to climb on that block. And that is **a lot** more and vastly more complex work than for example remove one specific zombie. And I have never heard your complaint from anyone else on the forum. So the chance that a modder exists who wants the same thing as you is extremely small.
  6. Why half agree when you complain about totally different issues? You complain about a half-naked zombie which arguably might give most parents at least an uneasy moment if their kids watch this as well. He complains about a POI without any sex shown, only some cages where the kids would already need to know everything about those establishments to not conclude that there would be animals in there !! And a suggestive name in a world where "booby" is said by 5 year olds to hopefully get a shocked reaction from their parents. To answer your question: Some of the people answering in this now overly long thread have said they are parents, and without exception they have been refuting the idea that the booby trap should be removed. I'm relatively sure of this because I can't remember even one comment being supportive of the OPs idea.
  7. That is your decision to wait for steel tools, but the game does not need to help you with that (especially when you already made your game easymode with 120minute days). If it really did make steel tools easily available, iron tools would be a useless step in the progression and would better be removed from the game. Also a ww1 fortification doesn't help you save gasoline.
  8. Ask modders what tools they use. They should know cheaper alternatives, sometimes even down to zero. I just looked and Blender is able to make character models and it is open source and free. But it also quite complex for beginners to get into. You might check out a tutorial video.
  9. 2 questions answered, 5 to go
  10. So you reached iron stage after 4-5 days and then have to wait for steel tools schematics. And you propose that you instantly proceed to get steel tools on day 5-6. But the schematics progression-gates are in the game for a reason. It is intentional that you can't get to the end of the progression immediately. Meanwhile horde nights happen and the typical player needs raw materials for walls and traps and ammo and gasoline, so he has to mine (with less efficiency) or hope to find it through looting (which is not possible for clay, stone and wood at least). What is wrong with that? It is the same thing with guns. In mid game you still don't have the best and most efficient gun. But you will still use your tier-1 or tier-2 gun to kill zombies and not play pacifist until you have the best gun.
  11. Electricity is hookey in more than one way but I have not heard anything from TFP that they want to touch that code in the forseeable future,
  12. The representative of the Zombie Workers Union told me they would be ok with players going through one block spaces if the zombies get the ability to jump on ladders 2 block higher and to open and close doors. Fair is fair 😁 Seriously, I agree that it would suck if all zombies could do it. As the plan is to allow it only for zombies where it makes sense I'm all for it.
  13. In the current game most hits do not cut off limbs, there is just a chance that it will happen (at least I remember it happening on occasion with legs). And I assume that it is the same chance to cut off the head with a headshot. Consequently you seldom see a zombie with both arms cut off because he will often be dead before random chance allows both arms to be gone. Players can't depend on it or use it as a strategy because it is not happening often enough Now if they increased the chance for cutting limbs off (though I haven't heard of such a change) then the chance to get armless zombies would increase as well. In that case I would hope that they also change it so zombies dish out less damage (not 0 because they can still bite) when their arms are off, because players will use it as a tactic and expect it to work
  14. I stand corrected. "all" is certainly too much. I also forgot that a bug in A16 (the zombies who ran in circles when they couldn't reach you) made another design viable (the stilt bases) that actually did not get much damage either.
  15. I know you can carefully craft a base that actually coerces zombies to follow a path because there is nothing else. Excellent achievement. But it is just the exception in the mass of possible designs. I never built such a base in A16, I don't know anyone who built such a base in A16. If we still had A16 AI, would you now be suggesting that all players always carefully copy that design so that they don't have much to repair?
  16. Do you mean the time when the player uses iron tools when you say "iron stage"? I don't get it because after that comes the steel tools stage where mining is finally somewhat efficient.
  17. Ah, nice. Though I think halving that amount is not enough. Even with a mediocre pipe weapon I would guess 100 bullets are at least 20 dead zombies. Since I have called for nerfing the trader as well I can't fault bachgaman for complaining, though. I can only fault him for hyperbole and impatience.
  18. Please leave your conspiracy theories at the door. Thank you.
  19. As I said, knowing this is not good for the game, but the knowledge is out of the bottle. As Roland said the developers don't want to incur a really stiff death penalty because of all the players complaining about it and so there is the situation that either people value their in-game lifes and have fun, or they don't and then they sometimes don't have fun. My group of friends has no problem putting a high price on our lifes and the last time one of us died he really got into a bad mood because of his death. I would call that the right mind set. You have a group of friends who are really not compatible with the way you want to play the game, it seems. If the game had a "dead is dead" aka "permanent death mode", would your friends even accept to play with this switch turned on? To me that seems doubtful. 30 hours? Ok, in SP I usually have fun for maybe 50 hours until I drop out. But I take my time, especially playing AGILITY one doesn't level that fast. So? Can you show me some pamphlet that says 7D2D has some specific minimum hours it should run? But I know of players playing a world for hundreds of hours. I have heard they often build seriously big buildings or even cities, just like in minecraft. Just that minecraft has a lot more automation, not sure if already in vanilla or through mods. If I want automation I usually play Factorio, but thats beside the point. I don't see why building a horde base from idea to finish (which is usually what drives me in this game) would not suffice as a goal. Or just surving (which actually points to this game being a survival game if you let it). But I distinctly said that those goals are only there if you choose to go for them, like in a sandbox game. Because this is a sandbox game as well. I already said that but it seems you missed that somehow I also spoke about a real in-game goal that will be added to the game with bandits. You complain somewhere else that it isn't in A19, not even in A20. Yes. TFP take their time. They were never faster. I expect bandits in A21 and I expect A21 in a year. If it takes even longer, so be it. This is a game in development and you can always choose to play this game only after release if incomplete features that take ages don't suit you. I have no doubts that as long as TFP still exists in the next years there will be bandits in the game and they will provide one actual in-game goal. By the way, the 800 bullets on day 1 you mentioned: This is another unfinished work, trader loot and rewards should have been rebalanced in A20, but this was postponed to A21, I assume because they fundamentaly changed the looting code because of the RWG changes and so had no time for that. Yes, TFP is slow for anyone looking from outside, don't expect this to change. Not my choice to add such a feature, but If I want to play dead is dead I will. I know lots of people here who at least say they play dead is dead. My advice: If you are playing on some external server and want to start over again once you die then contact the server owner so he deletes your character for you. And ignore what your friends do.
  20. Suggestion 1: More information. Suggestion 2: A lot more information 😉 For example: What operating system are you on? Which controller is that? Does the controller work with other games? Did the controller work with vanilla? Did the controller work in previous alphas? Is the controller ignored completely or does walking work but not some buttons or vice versa? Is there some message about the controller in the logfiles? https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/3956-how-to-report-an-issue-please-read-before-creating-new-threads/?tab=comments#comment-3956 tells you how to find the logfile, post it on pastebin and put a link to it here
  21. I think a principal difference for novice players between A16 and A19 horde night building is that in A16 bases could be built "independant" of the threat. I.e. the first idea coming into the game will invariably be to have thick walls between himself and the zombies, like a bunker or a castle. This has advantages: Novice players will not be walzed over at the start of the game. It is also more immersive that historical knowledge works as expected. And building for style instead of function can happen much easier even for the horde base. BUT on the other hand it practically prevents any evolution of the player from novice to expert because he already knows too much. Expect for finding exploits and some knowledge on what block arrangements make for good melee caches. There is simply no development here and that is usually a big part of what makes a new game so much fun. Sure, there are still other parts of the game with much to learn, but the tower defense part would just be a static element where basically the player has mastered the game from the start. For me horde night base building really began in A17, before that the farming of the materials and finding a cement mixer was more important than thinking about a design. So I would vote 1 or 2 Oh, forgot that in A16 all bases were built to just put lots of block HP between you and the zombies. Consequently zombies were only dangerous when they could destroy A LOT of those block HP through the night. Consequently it meant 2 days just of horde base repair (without counting the farming of materials). I never want to go back to this extreme grind.
  22. What you call breaking the AI is in reality just playing one of the genres in 7D2D. This is typical tower defense. Typical in tower defense games is to find weakesses of your enemies and use the terrain to your advantage. Same here.
  23. First post on page 1 of this dev diary has it all. Oh noees, the zombie beers in the beer den will be naked then 😁
