Ravenhearst Mod

Did mod launcher had any errors? Also, are you installing into separate directory structure as suggested by that image (ex: c:\7D2D)?

 

And are you trying to play SP or join a server?

 

Hey, thanks again!

 

No errors on the launcher. I'm trying to join a server, the servers with lower ping (the ones I intended to play) all show this error of the butterflies block. Trying to play SP or to join that specific server with 4.2 on it's name works, hence why I thought this block was from a different version.

 

EDIT: and yeah, I installed it on a copy. I've played other mods before, somewhat used to it (doesn't mean I'm free from making mistakes, obviously)

Hello all, i know i have been pretty scarce here but later tonight i'm going to catch up on everyone posts and answer all the questions I can.

 

With 17 being delayed to who knows when we are currently working on another patch that will see more balances and fixes and also we are PROUD to announce we are working on a Single Player version of the mod that solo players can enjoy if they so choose to.

 

Among other things, correct the eating of bowl and jars. Tired of fixing a bunch of lines after each patch.

Good day to you. Eating bowls is definitely unpleasant. I suggest you stop doing so.

 

Cooks can make bowls and jars. The SP version will allow a second support class when you finish the opening quest so this might be a good choice for you.

 

Alas eating bowls is a mechanic of the mod and a price to pay when trying to make classes attractive to the outside world.

 

One good thing about fixing all those pesky lines is that it is great practice for putting together a mod if you choose to do so in the future. It is how I learned, by modding out all those pesky jars i would get back from valmod. It changed my life.

I'm glad that there will be a version for a single player. All the same, after consuming dishes, there should be jars and plates. I noticed that there is no scavenging skill, why did you remove it?

I like the new generation of the world. The cities are small and far apart. Good motivation for travel and research.

You need to solve the problem with spawning zombies on the territory of the merchant, otherwise they eat it. And fix the dealer interface.

Valmod is the best, but you have every chance of moving it ;)

I did notice this in my output_log:

 

The file 'K:/7D2D_Mod_Installer/Ravenhearst/RH_41_21_Day_Horde_Edition/7DaysToDie_Data/level1' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!

This is normal. All SDX mods show this. The only issue I can find is you trying to play on Navezgane. This is not a good idea for mods that have many more POIs and modified world generation.

 

Now the game CTD whilst building the game world

There is definitely something up. Seen several people having same issue on discord. Mod devs might need to take a close look at this.

 

Silly question, but I notice in Jax's post he says they will work on a single player version. Should I only run this mod as a MP game?

 

What Jax meant is this mod mostly balanced around MP coop game play. Single player will have to learn additional classes to be able to progress. Which makes game much more challenging, especially with difficulty constantly increasing based on in-game day.

The server might be running a different mod version than you do. Aside from that have no ideas. Since this mod requires EAC off there is no way to sync files between server and a client.

If carbon is not accumulating in the blacksmith forge, you're not running the most current RH 4.2 mod. Carbon was initially wrongfully converting into iron in the blacksmith forge, but has now been fixed. You need to either upgrade to RH 4.2 (though it's still listed as 4.1 in the launcher) or manually edit the xml files to correct this single bug. (though you'll have to search how to do that, I can't help you there).

Tried with the steam download a new game version thing. It did let me play for maybe 2 minutes then crash.... sigh

Traders can not be killed only the buildings. What you are finding is Hive traders that were builts to be like that. Like in Darkness Falls.

 

Ravenhearst is about to get a patch that will make some things a bit easier, but also some things more hardcore. It is intended to be run by players looking for challenges and for server play both. It can be played SP and enjoyed. That said we have a very large fanbase and I want to make sure everyone can enjoy RH. So we are designing what amounts to an easier experience for players who may not be into hardcore. It will still be challenging but there will be steps taken to make the game more palatable for players with less interest in hardcore style play.

 

We are also adding a 14 day Version, and that will be OUR official recommended version for Ravenhearst.

not seeing anything wrong in your log this time.

 

what kind of settings do you run on? the base game has issues of its own, memory wise, and ravenhearst is pretty beastly.

 

if maxed, i'd try lowering a few things. uma textures, shadows, reflections, etc. just to see.

 

possibly view distance also. vanilla defaults view distance on 7 (which yeh, is meh), but it can be impactful.

i like to run on 12, but lower it to 10 on heavy mods and server play.

 

edit- your log actually cuts off right after you logging in the game.... so if an error is crashing you, we're not seeing it.

Well, if the trafficker can not be killed, I can sleep peacefully :)

Yesterday there was an unpleasant, crashed 20-day game, had to start from scratch. But there is a pleasant moment, started around a big city.

I do run the game on max settings so this is worth a try. It would make sense because I can run it for a couple of minutes before each crash. So it works.... just something happens during the time the game is running that makes it crash.

 

I will check the log again. I copied this from the log in Mod Installer so maybe it just cut off. I'll copy it from the game folder and re-post.

I did notice that in my mod launcher copy of the game it still had some old logs from over a year ago. It clearly didn't get rid of everything when I did a clean install. Made sure I deleted everything in the 7D2D steam folder after I uninstalled. Then re-installed clean and made my game copy from there. But guess what? Still crashing.... sigh

 

I've tried absolutely everything I can think of so I'm hoping there is something in the log that you notice.

Like the Pimps I will use the dreaded "It is done when it's done". We have had a very rough few months so I'm not going to put any pressures on myself or my team. We ARE working daily on it. This is all a bonus since Pimps needed to delay 17 a bit and we want to try to keep players a bit busy and distracted while we all wait.

 

Im going to echo was Sinda said. Im going to strongly recommend joining our Discord. It's an easier, faster and more direct way of communicating with us in real time, there is always someone there to help and previews are always shown there. I am there mostly all day or night.
