  1. Well, I've run a few different tests on servers, mp and sp and haven't reproduced this yet. I did run across a weird thing with forges, figured I'd look at them too while I was repeating 8 or so day long tests so that's nice. I believe there is a reproduction trigger for this, so not calling it a closed-case yet though. It's likely some magic combination of something to cause it, which certainly eludes me for the time being. If anyone has any info that could help that would be great. Something like, for example: I took all the water out of the collectors I went 1.8km away to a city Spent a lot of time there and did other stuff away from the collectors X amount of days later I returned I took water out of the dew collector (Shift-click, click and drag, loot all) Went back into the collector and there was more water (or it refilled in front of me) Were no players near the collectors? Were they occasionally loaded in (i.e. one or more players pass by the chunk)
  2. Confirmed, asked it over the team and consensus is just replace it, thanks
  3. I just realized: the overlord hipoly means you finally got your skeleton in the game Adam And there are 3 skulls in one at that.
  4. A user here said they canceled the crafting in the workstation(s) and that solved it, it would likely be the only resolution if you can do so.
  5. ^^ Yup, this. Enter these while inside/near the POI
  6. Work is done daily, and we're working on a lot of things/bug fixes/optimizations. It's taking some time mostly because it's a small team + we want to do things right/most polished - definitely not abandoned
  7. That's an unfortunate issue with older game saves due to a recipe change. I hate to say this but there may not be any recovery of this, aside from resetting the region that the workstation is in. Sorry about that, we try our best not to break saves, but it does happen in these alpha stages.
  8. Yeah what exactly is going on? Either way, like Meganoth said a log file will help out -- replicate whatever issue is going on and then upload that log file somewhere for us to look at.
  9. It's due to a drone. Try having everyone pick their drones up, if possible, and delete the drones.dat file in the game save, and then run "jd clear" in the console (should not be needed, but just in case).
  10. Sadly no, it's a good idea to keep backups in case this happens. Once your drive died, anything on that drive has gone with it. You CAN try a file recovery program, but those almost always have some errors that the program tries to correct, which may not work so well for a large game save that requires all of the data to be correct/in the correct positions. The files your friends have are just the map data/some local files cached like dynamic mesh/map markers/the configuration, not the game save.
  11. I hear you, going back in time is fun for a bit. Yeah it's a quick process. If you open regedit (you can also use the game launcher to open game settings) it's here: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die From here, look at the left, you'll see 7 Days to Die under The Fun Pimps: Right-click that folder, click Export, put it wherever/give it a name. then you can just run it like a program and it'll replace the current reg set with that one. Just make sure you only hit either the fun pimps or 7 days to die folders.
  12. Where's the console update section @Adam the Waster?
  13. Ah, yeah those settings changed format so would need to be wiped. You can actually export the registry for the game and put it on your desktop, then you can rename it like "A21settings", then delete the registry, run your A16 copy, repeat the export process, and then you've got 2 configs ready to go. Just double click them before launching and it'll put all the info in there. I got like 20 of them in a folder lol
  14. Thanks for that info, very useful. It's good to have confirmation that something like this is happening in single-player as well as on a server, since debugging it in single player generally is faster
  15. Oh yeah, definitely not the random POI vending machines hehe, just the player ones (well, and if you've a rented one at a trader).
  16. The timer is based on game days yes, the chunks that get visited are bumped up in the queue yeah, it won't reset one that you frequent. I wouldn't mess around advancing the time like that. You can change the time to just 1 day though. And the reset also ignores land claimed/bedroll areas and areas with a vehicle in them (also air drops, vending machines, maybe some others I'm not recalling atm).
  17. Ah yeah this is very outdated now. There's a new system in place and, in short-handed, there are systems that touch those region files and all worth together, so deleting one can cause issues in other parts. I suppose if the save is completely FUBAR and you can't use those commands -- and note this is a personal-theory that hasn't been tested and is a thought I had just a little bit ago -- maybe try deleting those region files and then, after you can get back in, run the region reset command and hopefully everything will be rebuilt properly. No guarantee of course, just an idea.
  18. It's straightforward, I've seen some guides kind of overcomplicate/overexplain it. You need two folders: Generated World (example: Kubuixie Valley) Game save on that world (example: Saves/Kubuixie Valley/My Game) That's it. The Generated world is in %appdata%/7daystodie/GeneratedWorlds. The Save is in %appdata%/7daystodie/Saves Since you're playing on the same machine, all you need to do is open the serverconfig file and change these: <property name="GameWorld" value=""/> <property name="GameName" value=""/> Game world you can put your generated world's name in it. So, using the example, you would do this: <property name="GameWorld" value="Kubuixie Valley"/> <property name="GameName" value="My Game"/> And that's it
  19. Yay! Glad you got back to playing. This community truly is awesome
  20. If the server is sort of running, the command in theory would still work. Mostly just iterating that deleting region files isn't supported anymore and issues are expected of it. If there's no other option sure. I'll have to look into if it's possible to reset corrupted regions like you're doing. Honestly, DarkEnd, it looks like you have a large amount of corruption. I'm guessing what Meganoth said is what happened, when your drive got full some regions weren't able to be saved properly and then the backup also failed. For what it's worth, it's never okay to have a drive that's full, you want SSD's at least 35% free and HDD's 50%, otherwise you start hitting heavy performance issues quickly and can start limiting the lifetime of your SSD in that case. In this case, I would try deleting region files. Do this until you can get back into the game, and then use the regionreset command to properly rebuild the regions. Hopefully that will prevent issues (regions are built by various systems touching save files, the command rebuilds them using those systems).
  21. You're welcome and no worries, thanks for the information. That's a good bit to go off of And yeah it threw me off when I saw it too I thought the same thing lol.
  22. https://community.7daystodie.com/announcement/11-report-an-alpha-21-bug/ Heya, please in the future use the format and one bug per report, unless it's directly related (e.g. the ak47 and shotgun can't reload anymore). There are some details that matter a lot, like if it was a carried-over save, on an MP game as a host with a client, on a server, etc. The robotic sledge is interesting, was that in single player, are you far away from the sledge, where is it placed? The drone should have a fix soon, we're aware. If it's breaking the game remove the drones.dat file and do a jd clear in the F1 console (note this will remove its inventory, so try to grab it if you can) The TAC I hear you on, but actually it's an all-glass sight, the shader on it is WIP and will look better. The M60 thing is known I believe, either way I am reminded about it now.
  23. I would like to add that actually deleting region files isn't supported anymore, and it can lead to issues. There is a regionreset command in the F1 console that should be used instead. "help regionreset" for the command list
  24. Lag can cause this, in theory. We are working on making game saves more stable though. Some tips that can help: Ensure server and client have firewall/antivirus exceptions, to both appdata/7daystodie and the main game folder Port forwarding on the server Don't run anything that "boosts" gaming/networking performance, those will only hurt you no matter what they say If your network is pretty unstable, try minimizing background programs that keep open connections (e.g. web browsers, discord) Try turning on the Network Workaround options in the General section in the settings.
