  1. Whether the feedback is given in official bug reports or critical rants here is largely immaterial. The bugs are all already known issues. Posting more of either (reports or rants) isn't going to make it more or less known. The devs have their priorities and that is all there is to it. We could take bets on whether it will be the PvP crowd or the console crowd that will get what they want out of TFP first...
  2. There is a huge clue within the name of their development studio.
  3. Not to worry. Unlike those Discord channels, our community got to work right away talking to one of the developers and realizing that there is a pretty easy fix for those who are concerned about this. Most mod authors will likely include the instructions of what to do along with their mod. Pretty soon every casual player will be able to have a desktop shortcut icon they can click to be able to select the modded version they want to play all without needing to have multiple copies of the game itself loaded onto their computers and the mod folders with their various configuration can be reassigned to a different directory. Pretty much anyone who is tech savvy enough to download and set up a mod in the current system will be able to follow directions on how to do the workaround and for the rest Sphereii's mod launcher will continue to work. The whole scandal is basically over and discord simply hasn't caught up yet.
  4. What if faatal's AI turns out the be The One that evolves beyond its purpose and attempts to enslave us all and use our bodies as batteries? No rush, faatal...
  5. Well, there have been plenty of reports of people having problems as well. I've been arguing that the mod folder change has been okay because they didn't force the change so I have to acknowledge the fact that they did force the server search change without any warning which has caused confusion and inconvenience to many if not all players.
  6. Yes, I know. I agree with you about the server search changes. There was no warning about that and it was forced and it has been a huge inconvenience for people to try and recover their favorites and histories and find the server they were playing on before. I daresay you are correct that some people will probably not be able to find their server and easily connect with their friends and that is definitely not the ideal way for a transition like this to have occurred.
  7. @Howlune Sorry your expectations for the game have not yet materialized. I can't say for sure or not if they will or won't materialize in the future. I can confirm that someone was hired to work on the netcode specifically though I don't know the progress on that. If your whole love of 7 Days to Die is a large server of people playing competitively against each other/ teams then it probably is best at this point to wait and see. Since you do have a love for the game or at least a love for what you always hoped the game could be, why not wait to see if it ever reaches that expectation and if it does you can come back to it at that point. As far as I know, the devs still plan to polish up issues that plague PvP gameplay at some point. The opportunity came up for the developers to get their game included in Microsoft Game Pass and that has complicated some things and because of the additional platform caused some issues and bugs and setbacks with allowing all the new players on Game Pass to be included in the server lists with everyone else. Just like anything, since the game is a work in progress, the first iteration isn't always the best. I'm sure they will improve the server lists but they needed to get something implemented initially that would allow them to include all the new players accessing the game through Game Pass rather than Steam.
  8. Nobody has forced anyone to shutup. Nobody has told anyone to stop asking critical questions. I haven't seen a lot of critical questions tbh. I've seen a lot of critical claims and predictions and statements and pronouncements. Some critical questions would be a nice change of pace actually. If wishes were SSDs...
  9. There is no official mod support yet. Modding is completely on your own. TFP are not concerned right now making sure that everyone knows how to mod and how to download a mod. They have not included any kind of mod interface in their options menu to help people get started modding nor have they provided any instruction. All of that comes from the community and even the way that modding is done now with Xpath and Harmony largely were community led with some input and coordination with the developers but pretty minimal. The devs announced the change how they announce all their changes and expect those that choose to mod before official mod support is implemented to do things exactly how they have been doing it for almost a decade now with this game--- the "get off your ass" and figure it out methodology. As well get mad at the lack of help the Devs gave Khaine to make Darkness Falls itself as at the lack of help they gave Khaine in figuring out the best way to make things work well with this change. There are people in this world who do and there are people who just talk about it. Well...Khaine did a bit of both-- but the point is he got right to work figuring this out because he saw the announcement and started making the necessary adjustments. I'm sure things will continue to get refined as we go. Like it or not, the whole modding scene is outside the scope of what the developers are currently focused on. They have promised that they will turn their attention officially to modding and making sure anyone who wants to can easily load the mod they want but that time is still a future day. Everyone who is modding the game right now are pioneers out on the plain. They are breaking new ground for sure but they are also very much on their own. The mod launcher, random world generators, custom huds, POI packs, overhaul mods, xpath, harmony, and now figuring out this change have all been accomplished by people who feel passionate about their own vision for this game and so have jumped the gun on having TFP support in order to get their vision out there before the game is fully released. That's their choice and we benefit from getting to play those alternate versions but they know that the environment they are working in is not one where the developers provide all the tools and support and menus and hooks needed to make modding a point and click affair.
  10. I think these guys wanted a warning about the warning. But of course then they would have ranted about that and demanded a warning about the warning for the warning. Man, TFP just should have included a warning about this back in 2013 as one of the kickstarter stretch goals.... Edit: lol…this joke is catching so many thumbs down. Too soon I guess? The crisis is over guys. Relax.
  11. Yes. It will. And before it happens and people are forced to the new way Khaine will have a tutorial video made, most mods will have the instructions posted for what users need to do, and it really won't be that big of a deal. Why? Because TFP warned everyone months before hand and gave the community time to adapt and sort things out and the solution turns out to be very simple and allows for multiple mods to be switched to without even having to have multiple full copies of the game loaded which means even more space saved on drives everywhere. While some ranted and whined, others got busy doing what TFP gave us the time to do-- which was to come up with solutions. So the reasons why it is dense to keep stating and restating that this horrible change has been forced upon us are: A) Nobody is currently being forced B) This is the grace period given for coming up with solutions (which some people got to work doing while others just sat around raging) C) By time the change actually happens everyone will be ready D) Turns out the change isn't nearly as horrible as people initially thought and even carries new advantages,
  12. In the loosest sense of "comeback". So loose, in fact, that you might even say that in A21 there will still be no learn by doing.
  13. Fun fact: You can report PM's and PM's are subject to the same forum rules as public posting.
  14. Just look past the rudeness!
  15. And they probably will do such things as soon as they shift from making the game itself to polishing supporting features like official modding support and Steam Workshop integration. Players participating in Early Access can't expect developers to drop their priorities to make buttons when they can fiddle around with config files and launch parameters if they really feel strongly about playing mods before the game is even done and the devs haven't even finalized official mod support... People are suddenly scandalized about having to use workarounds for this situation when workarounds are what you are supposed to do and are expected to do while the game is indev and the things you want haven't been added yet to work natively. We've been using workarounds for this or that for coming on 9 years now.
  16. Whether the game has religious or political characters or locations is different than bringing up political or religious opinions and beliefs in the forum. You can talk about the churches in the game as POIs and maybe even comment about inconsistencies you may notice based on your own experiences going to church. If there was a priest zombie character and you wanted to discuss how authentic his clothing was etc. that would be allowed. But you can't post opinions or beliefs about one religion or another as a topic of conversation. Roland: I like the Church with the graveyard around it! Matt: Typical ----tist!!! My comment is fine but the pretend comment of yours that is tweaking the nose of whatever religion that would be is not. Someone would be offended and then the religious war would begin. Same with politics. People sometimes like to use "like a liberal" or "like a conservative" to represent something they disliked and then we would all of a sudden have angry posts of people defending their political beliefs. Ha...ha.... there was a guy a few years back who posted A LOT on the dev diary and he was always bringing up political references to garnish his points and setting everyone off. He got banned a few times before he was finally gone. Can't remember his handle but man he was hardcore into politics for sure.
  17. Now we finally see the culmination of your long game... Grendelwolf: CEO of Sandboxie
  18. Being articulate is different than being vulgar, insulting, and trollish. There are many international users who use these forums with broken and translated English and so they aren't very articulate and people look past that and focus on what they are trying to say and that is admirable. We have a forum rule that people are not to be insulting against people for their grammatical and spelling errors. It is a nice sentiment that we all could just disregard poor behavior and only focus on the point but it isn't the reality which is why we have forum rules. There are probably legitimate times when someone could emphasize their point with a reference to politics or religion but we can't allow that because the ensuing flamewar would be all about the religious/political statement. It's just the way things are. So the responsibility is mostly on the author to choose what is going to be the focus of their post. If they want their point to be the focus then they should leave everything else at the door and stick to their point. If they want to express their emotion and suspicions and wild speculations then it is practically guaranteed that whatever point lies behind the colorful language will be lost in the noise. You can call that a sad report on human nature but sad or not it is the reality and given the anonymity of the internet it is likely never to change. So who bears the most responsibility for a conversation getting sidelined from the point to the tone? Well... only one person writes the post and perhaps 100 people will read it. If 90 of them are triggered by the overly dramatic language we could do as you suggest and lecture those 90 people to change their ways and ignore the fluff and be better readers and just let the @%$# aspect of the post slide off of them OR we can expect the one person to change the way they deliver their message and then none of the hundreds of readers have to overcome anything to focus on the point. It seems clear to me that while all share in the responsibility of having a civil discussion, the main responsibility lies with the author. That's why forum rules focus on what people write and not how people read. You can get banned for what you write regardless of how cool your underlying point is while you can't get banned for reading something and feeling annoyed by it and then posting your disappointment about it (as long as what you write doesn't also violate the rules) No. It isn't condescending to disagree with someone about their behavior in how they post. We ask people not to do it but that they should just report it so we can give infractions or hide such posts because of the arguing we know will ensue. But if someone posts their point and it is full of angry insults aimed at the devs or other users, we do not have to just let that stay and try and understand their underlying point. They forfeited the right to make a point here on the forum when they broke the rules. Maybe they should take a few moments before posting if they want their message to remain in view. Again, you say "not articulate" but in your descriptions you are talking about people who actually are being articulate in a boorish and uncivil manner that purposely trolls the reader with their hyperbole and insulting language. Some of these authors are actually quite savvy about what they can write to get under the skin of any who disagree with their opinion. I think they choose their words carefully and are definitely articulate enough to choose milder words if they wanted.
  19. I'd say that's probably plenty of common history for you to reach out to either Prime or faatal when you have concerns/feeback. Darkness Falls is a big deal and if you already passingly know those guys and they know you are the DF author, they would be interested in hearing from you whenever you have feedback to share with them.
  20. Who do you know among the devs? Alloc, possibly? Maybe Lathan or Robert? Send out personal message and see if you get a response.
  21. Modder/Developer conversation about this issue and other issues is already in place. Rational and measured discussion is happening. Conversations like this thread can't be suppressed or deleted because THAT would only cause white hot fury over nobody being able to give their feedback. The devs are obviously not going to engage in threads like this or on Steam where people are either inferring or outright accusing them of being dirt bags. You can tell that some of the people on here who are screaming outrage and claiming that they would be satisfied if only TFP would just give all the reasons why-- would in fact never be satisfied with anything less than exactly what they want for themselves. I gave the link to this thread days ago to the devs and they said that they were already communicating directly with modders they know in the community. Rant threads and speculations of disaster have been and always will be a part of the development scene whenever a studio chooses to develop publicly instead of behind closed doors. The truth about the mods folder will eventually trickle out to everyone and those who made the wrong assumption at first will figure it out. Very few who come on the forum and say they are done with the game and post their goodbye actually follow through and never play the game again. That's why goodbye posts are against the rules. They are just troll posts.
  22. The issues are always different in the particulars but the attitude and reaction is always the same from people who just don't know to expect change, reconfiguration, and evolution when playing a game in active development. People think they know and can laugh off changes when they affect others but are of no concern to them. But then that one update comes when they are the ones inconvenienced and all of a sudden they sound just like all the doom and gloomers of the past. I guess it was your turn this update pApA...
  23. Because you can’t take a joke and you are apparently a conspiracy theorist… You’re considering the worst case scenarios and then establishing those as reality. I guess we will find out whether or not your fears are real.
