Yes you can. In 4.1 the max level is 500. You can make skill point books. You can quite literally learn EVERYTHING.

What pre-made map would you reccomend? And what's the difference between PEP and non-PEP?

 

I would like to try them all but I don't really have that kind of spare time. What map are you the most proud of and/or would give me the best experience?

 

Also, do these maps have locations important to the story of Darkness Falls?

 

Oh, and congratulations on getting onto a Neebs Gaming video, I'm a huge fan of theirs, so I consider you so lucky to get to play with them.

What map you use it upto you, depend how much you like to travel.

When you play singleplayer you should try smaller one at first.

 

I'm asking Khaine if there is any difference between the maps besides size.

Different size maps are different. The nature of a different size map, means it has different entities in it, or at least how it is generated in 7DtD. PEP versus Non PEP ones are different as one comes with PEP and one does not. However, they all have the same Darkness Falls custom POI's like Razor, Eve, the military bunker, etc.

 

PEP has a few hundred additional POI's in it, mainly from previous alphas and Compo Packs. I would highly recommend the PEP version due to these additional POI's are great for exploration and overall fun factor. Khaine & the DF Team have also tried to balance many of them so you don't get poorly configured loot and zombies in various tier POI's.

yeah, I like the idea of the small maps, but I usually end up feeling a little boxed in.

 

The addition of the repairable vehicles is extremely nice in the early game when you're on a larger map.

Are the Pre-Gen maps Random Maps that have been expanded upon? Or are they older maps from older builds?

 

I ask because I like the way cities and towns are built in the new random gen. I'm asking all this because I am unsure that if I play a random gen I might be missing some sort of important poi or story element.

They are quite likely created by Khaine from the RWG. Then he either adds the custom DF POI's later or gets lucky with the RWG adding them.

 

If you just use the RWG, then there is a reasonable chance you will miss one of the custom ones. However, you can easily check once you create and start the map. Just check for Razor, Anna, Eve, Military Bunker, and the Research Lab. Caitlin is not part of the story, but you should make sure she is there as well. I normally would just do a search for "DF" in the POI list and those should be included there. Having more than one of the custom POI's is also fine, but you must have at last one.

They are just RWG tweaked maps.

Right, new dev build out for anyone interested.
 

V4.1.1-DEV-B7

- Added missing recipes for underground Rice and Cannabis plants.
- Slightly increased attack speed and damage of power fist so it should be closer to, or better than, titanium knuckles.
- Since infection is now more deadly, made honey SLIGHTLY more likely to actually start a cure.
- Updated all vehicles so they have 1500 health per grease monkey/mastery needed to make them. So bicycle/golf cart start at 1500, mastery is 9000. Purchasable flying vehicles are considered mastery vehicles and have a health of 9000.
- Increased stack size of Anti-Rad pills.
- Fixed the bolognaise buff disappearing.
- Steak and Potato meals are no longer sold in bundles. (vanilla bug)
- Lowered range of the iron hoe.
- Fixed shotgun shells not showing an unlocked by.
- Gamestages.xml updated to fix a small bug.
- Increased most raw food stack sizes to 250
- Increased stack sizes of a lot of raw resources.
- Increased all coilshells to stack size 300 instead of 150 since normal bullets stack to 600.
- Mechanic mastery vehicles now all require the V8 Engine.
- Playing on the easiest difficulty will now HALVE your gamestage for players who want a much easier experience, starting from level 2.
- Made and added some posters to the Mo Power stores just to add some "life" to the world.

Can those people not simply ban idiots doing this? I know it´s the easiest way for you to handle this, not asking to put it back here.

 

I need to vent though. It´s a game for adults. If a server owner doesn´t want porn they should state it in the rules and ban people who do it. I am sick of things getting restricted because it could be used wrong by idiots and the people responsible can´t handle them. If they can´t control their rules they shouldn´t run a server. 

 

Now serverowners who have normal human beeings as players have to go an extra mile if they want custom signs. Basically it´s impossible for a public servers. Well done lazy admins.

I think the Pre-Gen maps are broken for me as they are unusually flat, the desert and wasteland in particular have no topological features what so ever. Where can I find where my worlds are saved? Is there a way to force spawn the custom POIs? I got four Caitlyn's in one random map and nothing else.

 

I'm not too fond of the pre-gen maps as they are so flat that it's very weird too look and and bland on top of that.

 

If it's not possible to force spawn them during generation, is it possible to spawn the necessary NPCs into the game itself?

I believe they are tweaked for flatter areas. It also helps with more POI's, I think. I prefer plains, but certainly not everyone's cup of tea :)
