  1. That's amazing then, I appreciate the feedback and can't wait to play A20! I certainly hope it will allow all the POIs to be on one map for RWG. If not in A20 then a future release, Rummaging through a newly created worlds config to see what POIs exist is a little disheartening.
  2. That sounds amazing, I'm not sure how much your allowed to tell, but I've got some questions. Is the cities in RWG a lot better? So it's not like a large area with buildings scattered at random distances? Are the roads not as.. drop-like on the sides? Can we now fail dig quests for leaving the radius.. which moves? (Seems stupid in my opinion, but I could just mod the quest radius like I've done before) And finally, how does feral sense work? It would seem stupid to ever go in a city since buildings would just start collapsing by zombies breaking them trying to get outside to where the player is. Potentially breaking the loot and containers. Edit: it seems like a very worthwhile update, i hope they can't climb through a half block gap!
  3. The site wouldn't let me ping you, https://forum.airportceo.com/t/solved-game-freezes-then-ctd/15363/23 check out that thread, I just crashed again after a couple hours of seamless gameplay, increasing my CPUs volate by +0.5V seems to have fixed a lot of the "spikes" in the cpu usage, and it runs a lot smoother. I'm not the only one experiencing the issue on the unity forum, and the fix for the issue may not be a bad idea to sticky somehwere as Unity is still being updated and undergoing.. issues.
  4. If your computer is stated that it can't run windows 11, either your using something really outdated, or they haven't even implemented every processor, gpu, drive, and ram combination yet. It is quite literally in the earliest of stages, we won't be seeing it for 3-5 years so why does it matter that much? A lot can change, just like this game. Just as much as the GPU market can change in 3-5 years. Just because "there is a chip shortage" doesn't make an OS that is heavily processor and drive bound useless because GPUs are 2-3x MSRP.
  5. I just got everything verified and everything is working perfectly! I am in the exact same situation as you are. I might actually have a 6700xt secured from StockX, but who's to say. The site isn't the best.
  6. I noticed i had a base system device not having a driver in Device Manager. Just did a windows update with all the drivers, installed, restarted and that error is gone. Now I'm reinstalling the geforce game ready driver on Geforce Experience. Then I will verify integrity of game files, restart and give the game a go again.
  7. https://pastebin.com/kB3adH9i InvalidOperationException: Cannot access the data as it is not available at UnityEngine.Rendering.AsyncGPUReadbackRequest.GetData[T] (System.Int32 layer) [0x00017] in <5e1dfb686eb345078a588df96401afcc>:0 at OcclusionManager.OnRequest (UnityEngine.Rendering.AsyncGPUReadbackRequest req) [0x00010] in <8676d591e24b4790910cdee451580eac>:0 That appears to be cause, but I am unsure of how to fix. This is a fresh world after deleting everything in %appdata%, steam 7 days to die directory (fresh install), the in game launcher/tools/clear game data, and the removal of configs in the registry. Edit: Error was fixed. Required a windows update with all optional drivers then a restart. Followed by a reinstallation of the Geforce Game ready Driver, verification of 7 Days to Die install folder in steam. Followed by another restart. Everything is working smoothly once more.
  8. That honestly sucks, but if you look at it from their POV. It would be allowing someone to freely risk everyone's account/credentials of compromisation because "it wasn't me". Anyone can use that excuse, and personally, it exercises caution. That's how identity theft, and what happened to you occurs. As awful as that sounds, imagine you got one of those messages and clicked it, then had the exact same problem. It exercises caution entirely, cyber-security is serious, especially since ALL of your accounts, and other people's could have been compromised. You shouldn't be downloading anything that could give malware anyway.. so that one is on you unfortunately. You still have access to the game, and this site if you're looking for people to hang out with or tips/screenshots.
  9. I agree that this would be amazing, but i can see it being a major hassle. Especially for RWG saves. If it were ever apart of the game, it would most likely be on Navezgane or Pregen_01 and Pregen_02. Only because you need an algorithm to know exactly where to put each and every sign while being accurate at the same time. Especially for painted roads, which i don't think wouldn't be too bad if they only implement a solid/dotted yellow line down every road. The best way for a RWG would be for it to place the roadmap, then have an algorithm that places said signs, where it looks like they should go. It's a cool concept, but the biggest issue would be the creation and coding time. Especially since roads, don't have asphalt and dirt going 2-3 blocks away as it is making it more difficult. I can imagine the RWG map generation being increasingly longer, but i like the idea and I hope a moderator or Dev will comment.
  10. I agree with everything you've said, but i can't call the game bad in much ways. The spikes nerf was absolute garbage. You don't really build a defendable base as much as a path for the zombies to run so you can repair a door/wall and attacking when possible on a bloodmoon. The barbed wire is kinda pointless in my opinion since you can generally get 1-2 electric fence traps before day 7, and if not. Quests will give plenty of ammo. The farm plots are actually not as bad as one might think. Easily put 2 perks into living off the land, it seems stupid but being able to use 5 flesh, and plant everything is amazing. ESPECIALLY, since you don't really get a lot of seeds anyway. If you manage to come across a bobs boars, it's absurdly filled with "meat piles" for you to obtain rotting flesh. But to be honest, i would save a lot of the ranting until A20, only because RWG is getting an overhaul, which is insanely helpful if you use them. If you don't use RWG, Navezgane has all the POIs you want, within 1.2km of Jen, which shouldn't take more than a couple minutes of running IRL time. Which isn't too bad. It definitely is a repair/blade trap grind though. I use 8 blade traps in a small room, 8x13 total, where I've got fence posts on the side. It's really the best way to do stuff unfortunately, but it's still a fun game and it is getting improvements so it won't be as dull, and will become increasingly better. Bonus points if you use pipe bombs for hordes and make a ladder you throw down on them.
  11. That was actually a problem at one point on ps4 i believe. It could also be external stuff as well. In diablo 3, you can actually spawn a hacked item (not even apart of the game) drop it, then when another player picks it up.. they get banned for having it. His definition of hacked could be similar to diablo 3, or someone did something to the servers files through cheating software and perma-banned him. There is also cheating software for gta5 where you can kick people from lobby at will. But in this game, you can easily ban someone by player id based on steam. In the files, or by console commands. So i would not be surprised if that had happened. In the end though, it's not TFPs fault, that would be EACs. And OP should avoid servers that are not hosted by actual "companies" if you will, like CraftersLand for Minecraft.
  12. Zombies no longer spawn, if you place your bedroll down. Basically, build your surface protection structure, then just shove a ladder in the corner to the roof for escaping, then just make the ladder go down as far as you wish for the underground base. And proceed to expand, though i would recommend not making it wider than your surface base unless there are spikes or traps above. The default difficulty did get lowered, as they gated stuff behind gamestage and felt that it was imbalanced for starting/regular players who just want to play. Edit: since your still playing some older alphas, i cannot recommend checking the patch notes of every version thoroughly!
  13. If you go to the home page and click on console news at the bottom, the the giant red banner on top. It heavily implies (if not states) that any and all funds from the console version will go to PC. Then when they make the game go gold (released entirely) then they're most likely going to port it to console. If you really believe they're padding they're pockets, they had to pay a hefty fund to get the licensing back from a company they gave it to because it went bankrupt. I honestly don't believe ANYONE on console would buy 7 days to die without doing the slightest bit of research. Especially one that isn't really streamed on console, unless your watching a console stream that's an outdated video from 2013. And when they look up the game online, they'll be greeted by an EA tag. And anyone who has ever bought EA, understands the risks. I'm not saying it should remain the way it is. I'm saying that it is that way right now, and at this point, you can only wait. Paying a company from 2 to however many MORE alphas they create, costs a hefty price per alpha. It's cheaper to pay for one large port at gold, than many, many small ports. Especially if they're unsure of how far to go.
  14. A lot of that is underground building. If your building a 9x9 underground bunker but not trapping the top with blades/spikes then what are you doing? Underground is a mid-late game thing. You can EASILY hole up on the top floor of a POI and rest there during the nights as needed. But did you forget about the running tips? You can easily do your digging at night provided that you build a little square structure of wood before heading underground. Preferably by hatch/ladder going straight down, then having a hatch/ladder to roof in your structure as a way out if they attack. In which case you can dig, exit hole and building, then kite zombie away if needed. Since you don't want zombies coming down your 1x1 hole in which is your only way out. Strategize, strategize, strategize. It's 7 days to die, it's meant to be a little rough no matter the difficulty. It is not a sit-back and chill game. If you really wish it to be that way, lower the difficulty from nomad, decrease their block damage and regular damage, and set your loot abundance higher. I agree with your dog running issue, but you can also outrun them too, and it's WAY easier at night. I have outran so many wolves and zombie dogs. WATCH that stamina bar and don't let it go below 60-80% at night, you need the ability to run away! Here's the problem with what you wish and indestructible blocks, it can cheat the horde night. It's a tower defense game, build a tower or path, and DEFEND it. Later on you can get blade traps, fence traps, and turrets to do that job for you. Indestructible blocks to completely break the AI and allow for an impassible horde night is exactly why they removed that. If underground is really that broken for you, then your either 1. Going to need to adapt, or 2. Keep using mods to change the game away from what's intended. I don't mean to be rude, but you have options available to help ease the things you lost. "I'm trying to play the game my way" well, other people are too. And your mods seem to do what you want, so what exactly is the problem? Just that it isn't in vanilla? I'm sure i could dig through some xmls and decrease dog speed. Just remember that it's 7 days to DIE. It's an unforgiving world, and having a high heatmap from all those forges, is remaining true to that. Hell, Madmole has a forge base, horde base, and a crafting/farming base combined. That way no heat maps collide. I myself, only use 2 bases late game, but start with a horde/home base combined for the first few bloodmoons.. if my GS isn't too high.
  15. Please don't do anything bad to it, we don't need covid-20 at the same time as 19!
  16. I personally play on survivalist, the only changes I make are marking air drops (we literally have a gps for a map which tells coordinates, I'm sure a government plane puts trackers in them) increasing difficulty to survivalist, and 12 enemies on bloodmoon. For video settings, brightness at 70-80% (torches and flashlights, do literally nothing, even if you hear a zombie you just run anyway). Finally, grass distance setting to lowest. (Chickens, animals, and zombies don't move grass when they walk. It's impossible to see creatures that are 50% smaller than grass, plus they halved the birds nests, i need to be able to see my meats and eggs). Here's some tips for you, i felt the same way about the game but it's rather enjoyable. 1. Get a lvl 1 stone sledgehammer, use the normal attack to knock the enemy down after a couple hits, then power attack when they're on the ground. If that doesn't kill, just keep spamming normal attack, shouldn't take more than 1. 2. Go to your local trader, i prefer jen since she offers quests relatively close and is in the most central area of the map. Then when you arrive, check her stock and see what's reasonable to buy. Preferably a weapon, but if she has blade traps, those are top priority for bloodmoon. 3. Grab a quest from the trader, i usually don't do digging since there isn't a lot until later, take a fetch or clear. Fetches are good since you can avoid conflict, clears force you to kill (good for xp) and encourage you to loot a POI to the fullest. 4. Figure out what weapon you want to perk into (it is an mmo simulator after all, no more learning by doing or upgrading tools by re-crafting them). Then work on either buying that weapon from the trader, or crafting it yourself. Everything is seriously viable except stun batons and knives, just avoid those as they require precision mastery and are only good in certain scenarios. 5. I build a house on stilts. Build a pillar 4 high, place 5 frames out, then attach to the ground. I do that till i have a 9x9 square foundation on stilts. Then i build a bridge, also 5 blocks out (from where your putting the front door. Repeat that twice and build a ramp. The reason for this, is it FORCES zombies to funnel up the ramps on the bridge, to your door. Perfect for blade traps, and not having to worry about all angles. 6. Doors, they are 2 blocks big. So what you do is build 1x3 ceiling above the door and create frames. Now, the trick is place a 1/2 wood frame (using the "on face" option) and place it on both sides of the 1x3 ceiling. Then for the bottom part, there are inverted corner blocks. Same size of the frames however, the center is almost hollow which makes it perfect for hitting crawlers/spiders from inside without harm. Plus nothing can get in the narrow gap, wood slits are a thing of the past. 7. This is a mechanic simulator, do not forget that, i can understand if you dislike the game and don't like the somewhat forced gameplay, but no one else has really posted what they do, so your seeing a biased opinion and playthrough of a try hard if you will. Moving forward 8. food is really a secondary cocern, do NOT eat until your missing health since food heals you. There is no reason to eat that bacon and eggs when your hunger is half, but your full on health. Only eat if your hunger is at 7 or below, or if your health is THAT bad and you don't have painkillers. 9: don't keep your forges running, i see you have issues with the heat map. I can easily make it to day 14 on survivalist without seeing a single screamer (and this is with 0 deaths) i only let the forges run 5 minutes at a time per day, and the only time i let that run is when I'm far away questing. Finally, tip 10: TAKE YOUR ARMOR OFF. Seriously, you run FASTER than sprinting zombies. If you are making a long walk from point A to B, TAKE IT OFF. Your not only slowing yourself down for no reason, but if you are out at night and a sprinting zombie comes at you, you will NOT be able to run away without the necessary perks while wearing armor. Plus it saves so much time running. If you can avoid getting hit without armor as is, only use it in POIs. I truly wish you the best of luck, I'd be more than happy to send you screenshots of some of my setups if you would like. I can understand if this alpha isn't for you, that's perfectly fine. Mods can make it better, and that's okay. That's exactly what the purpose of mods are. Modded Minecraft is insanely fun compared to vanilla, same with skyrim. Make the game your @%$#. The zombies are just a mindless entity and food is just an imaginary bar to keep you worried.
  17. I've got a couple questions about it, do you know if it will only be replacing clothing? I believe i read somewhere about it replacing armor as well? Could've been incorrect but just wanted to verify. (I don't mind it getting changed). Second, will skills remain somewhat the same? So that miner 69er will still give more wood, stone, and metals? Only making the mining set worth it if you care THAT much about the bonuses? It would be sh***y if it was forced to get intense bonuses. Finally, will there be different sets for different items? I'm curious to know if we will have a set for every weapon type. I understand it's all concept and that's okay if you can't answer the questions, just some concerns and curiosity about the direction of some stuff.
  18. May i ask how you set up a horde base? Mine is usually a house on stilts with a bridge leading to the door for zombies to path up as i either shoot them to death, or manage to get 2 electric fence traps and 1 blade trap.
  19. I can agree with you in some aspects, but some people believe that the bonuses will be minimal. I wouldn't worry about it until the update releases or goes into beta since I'm not sure even Roland knows. (he better not.. him and his plotting) worse case scenario, someone makes a mod to bring the old system back or to make the new system better and more manageable. It's best to wait and see what happens when it releases and then create suggestions about what you would like to change.
  20. Not really the place to ask, but in your install directory. Default is C:/windows/programfilesx64/steam/steamapps/common/7daystodie When your there, right click, make a new folder, name it Mods. Then head over to the nexus mods website, create an account, and begin searching for mods under 7 days to die on the site and download ones you want then put them inside of the mods folder you made. You may need to extract the .7 or .rar files, so download 7-zip to do that for you.
  21. i9-10850k, 32gb ddr4 3600mh, gtx 960 2gb. (As you need i guess) Now to continue with the general support question, is there no way to change affinity with the EAC.exe? (Like title says). The issue with the gpu is irrelevant if I'm able to change affinity with the non EAC version, i can change it in the non-EAC version (which your thread says i should specify).
  22. Id highly recommend getting into traps. Place an electric fence trap wire THROUGH the blade trap. It'll stun any zombies and get sliced at the same time. Just be sure to carry some forged iron, forged steel, mechanical, and electrical parts on you for repairs. They help so much. But to answer your question, smelt dukes and continuously run trader quests, especially if you can get to the gun_store_02 mission, it helps a ton!
  23. I've done some delving into the steam forums and I've found that this is a issue for everyone. Here's a link for anyone interested https://steamcommunity.com/app/251570/discussions/4/1642038749318279970/ Has anyone found a way around this? I don't want a Randomly Generated World to eat EVERY part of my processor, I'd still like to use my computer..
  24. Imagine if it had as many zombies as days gone. I believe there is 90(?) Hordes that are groups of 400-1000 zombies. It's a fun time for sure!
  25. Permadeath is the side effect of dying in stupid ways. It's just something you have to accept, you either play perfectly.. or you die. Having a save everyday really just negates the permadeath, so what's the point? You could always cheat (assuming it gets added) and just create a world backup every in game day if you're really that persistent. A permadeath world should NEVER save. They should always get deleted upon death, which shouldn't matter if you make backups anyway.. not that it ruins the purpose or anything.. I would be interested in a mode, as you described, when one player dies.. everyone dies. Don't make that death permanent though, and add a death counter so you can see who caused the most group deaths. I believe there is a minecraft mod to do that exact thing you described. It would heavily force teamwork and allow very little splitting up. Plus if someone is saying they need help, you can't blatantly ignore it because you're going to die too.
