  1. Well, no @Jost Amman. I said it as a fact and cast no blame on anyone. Behrugen sich bitte*
  2. I like to build. I am happy I have more shapes to use that in my SP game no one will ever see in my fortress (sarcasm in case it wasn't obvious) I play in an unbalanced world. More XP. Zeds are weaker and I can inflict more damage. Paradox...meh, its what I can expect based on my initial game choice. Dunno about balance in that regard. I have to loot to get what I need to advance. Always did. So I don't see that as being a major change to gameplay Thanks for that being out of the creative menu. Creative is a big 'get these things too' temptation.
  3. I do both. And yes as you say they have their pros and cons. Which is best? Can't really say. Depends on what POI, how the game smiles with RNG and if I want to stay with my current base build or try something else because of inherent flaws I've found. Easy to change, start again with another type of POI. I don't consider starting over as shameful. Not happy with the way its going? Reroll the dice and give it another go, this time it may be spectacular.
  4. Cash. An efficient form of financial transaction. Barter: You don't have 23 hides and 3 radiators? No? Well that's what the Trader demands. Sorry about your luck. No rifle ammo for you then. Next time, if you are lucky enough to run into this Trader's caravan both the goods required for barter, what they have to offer and any items in your inventory will have probably changed. Two engines and 5 oil. No? No lvl4 AK47 for you. Cash is a good thing. It levels our ability to purchase, reduces the amount of questionable things we have to carry hoping they are in demand and gives us an expectation as to the value of things we might sell or wish to buy. Quests on the other hand, well we can take them or leave them. They do present their benefits if completed, if we choose to accept them. Or ignore the Traders altogether. Perhaps the RNG will bring you abilities and tools beyond your imagination. Or not. Probably not from my experience.
  5. Hmm, didn't register for me at first. But we can all play at different settings giving us different results within a similar timeframe. I like to boost my XP, reduce the zombie damage and increase my block damage. I'm comfortable with that. Others may scream "Heresy!". But I won't hear them, so I play my way, as can anyone else who chooses how they see fit. But what is of significance imo, is what was @Rotor's loot stage? Day 91 with only a lvl5 primitive bow is nothing I've experienced before.
  6. Not sure if that fits in the definition of irony or not. But deflating? Absolutely. If it was a hop seed recipe you were given, then plant some hops. Craft some beer and offer it to the RNG. Because you gotta know there's something not good between the two of you. ☚ī¸
  7. I like the zed diversion aspect. Nice idea. Pizza is mentioned in another current thread "Pears? Pears?? Why No Peaches?" My opinion is that your recipe would probably make a smelly meatball though, but call it what you want. Now if I were to eat this (it could happen), what do you suppose will happen to me? đŸ¤ĸ
  8. The only meal prepared at a forge....🍕
  9. I could have done without our drone buddy in the game. Nice to have it heal me when I am too busy to check my health while blasting through zeds, and carry a few extra rounds of ammo is not a bad thing. But self awareness and some hard lessons did the same before it arrived. To tell me 'We are not alone' or 'I have a bad feeling' is okay, but...how about you help eliminate some threat for me? And please try to get out of my field of view while I am trying to sniper shot something. Maybe we will get improved abilities and AI for our hovering helper in A21.
  10. What's the console command please? I lnow I've taken out ally drones without meaning to. Guess I may have scrambled that. Friendly fire ON means to me I won't be killing allies or their drones with my misplaced shots, or do I have that bass ackwards?
  11. Thanks guys. Not too difficult to figure out. Still standing at the counter to pay for my order. Guess @Maharinwent for a one-liner break 😄
  12. Drone sound does now affect stealth, makes sense. But it's pretty much been a passive partner in combat. Looks like that may change. Ooh, let's watch this pan out. Could be awesome, until the drone is reduced to pulp. I've lost a few already, and that's because they've gotten in the way of friendly fire. Be nice if friendly fire is ignored. Alright, one step at a time. Tell that to my dead drones, eh?
  13. I fell like worm sweat residue. Asking for peaches when the ubiqitous Tabasco has totally been unmentioned. Can't craft it, no peppers, no vinegar). Oh please, can we loot it ? Duh, copyright issue (and their lawyers are aggressive) - how about a hot/spicy pepper sauce then? 'A little dap will do ya' (Copyright again, why can't we just have more fun things?). Don't want to abandon this thread, but some spicy condiment (with both a buff and a debuff) may open up some possibilites). In a mod anyways. But yeah, hot sauce...I'd throw peaches into the gutter for a bottle of Georgia Peter's Peach Zombie Sauce. Well, maybe. Would have to try it first. 😝
  14. Indeed. That maxim has been exploited a lot in the past. Good, bad or indifferent - it is difficult to refute. But, trying to keep this voodoo theme on track, with oddly lit reckoning machines susceptible to rare earth magical magnetism amoung slaughtered in-game chickens (its a real thing I assure you), where do we turn to now? I say the contents of coffins. Jewelry? There is none. The occult, though not visibly within the code, may reveal. Any input @Uncle Al?
  15. I'm not familiar with the four corners of contact reference. There's a cookie in the other series of photos in @Maharin's link that shows a misplaced head. I was going from there...
  16. I'll take a baker's dozen please. 12 for me, and could you gift wrap the one with its head in the wrong place? It's for someone special. Thanks
  17. The way I see that being able to work as you described would only be viable during the first few Blood Moons, since I've experienced those horde nights where they can quit spawning before 04:00 of the following morning. Later in the game, that won't be the case. So which is it, Horde Night or Blood Moon? For me it's the same thing. It starts at 22:00 and lasts until 04:00 of the following morning. If you're going to attempt getting an air drop during those 6 hours, you'd best "be quick about your business". 🏍ī¸ đŸ˜Ŧ
  18. We can craft usable* cabinets, cupboards, a nightstand and a bookcase (the bookcase that shows books on the front). They all have limited storage space compared to storage boxes though. The wine barrels offer the same amount of storage as boxes, and look quite nice actually. * some variants are cosmetic only. Happy decorating 🔨 😊
  19. Funny you say that. IRL i stayed with a family whom I dearly loved and peas, the fresh ones, were too often a part of dinner. I developed a loathing for peas. That was culminated in the day I was asked to come in to the kitchen to help. Help clean a sack full of peas in the pod. đŸ¤ĸ
  20. We can improvise with the ground corn. Not the same as wheat, but we could get by. If we had a cooking recipe that supports it. It's after 22:00 hours. I open my food chest to see what I might be able to cook up as a substantial meal since I don't have anything else to do. I'm not hungry, but having a power meal in my inventory is always a good thing. Some corn meal Lots of raw meat One egg 3 cans of peas 2 tins of those obnoxious pears 4 blueberries 2 pumpkins 5 raw potatatoes (need to plant those in my new garden) A partial stack of congealed animal fat SOL for now. Looks like another few grilled meat then. I used to look forward to a well-grilled steak. Too much of a good thing is not such a good thing after a while. And not a peach to be found. It's rumored there's a Pop'n Peach somewhere in the wild. My quest continues...
  21. @SylenThunderGood to know. I had the same issue and about at the same time too. A reboot fixed it. I use Steam (which has its own problems here behind the Great Firewall). Only recently have I been seeing Epic errors. How did Epic get a hook in this game? And why?
  22. @NekoPawtato. It doesn't take me long to use up paint. One unit of paint will usually cover one block face. Now some cosmetics within my base I will make a priority (eg. making a crate that holds my food look like a stove which I've put a fire ring on, or painting a crate to look like a beverage cooler which I will use for all my drinks). But I use paint mostly to change the reflection of bars which I can shoot through. And if one's base has a fence all around, then the paint is used up quickly. And when the bars are upgraded we must paint them again. My vision has changed over the years. Not enough light is a problem. But too much light, as in the reflection from my headlamp is not good either. My solution is to Paint it Black. That black carpet texture. The shades we can wear don't help, so I revert to paint. In A21, I'll just have to suffer through it until I am swimming in excess water.
  23. Indeed. But I can't drink that bottle of oil. so I'd like to make paint with it. Good to know things haven't changed in regards to the paint. But they could...
  24. Good question. As it is now, we can remove the dyes from scavenged clothing and then scrap it to get 15 paint per unit of dye. I hope that doesn't change. But using the precious murky water to make paint does seem like its going to be a difficult choice. I could see the paint recipe needing a bottle of oil instead of water...I seem to gather a lot of oil and rarely use it.
  25. Well It appears we can drink it and maybe get dysentary, but we can not take the water with us. We can't make our little 2x2 pool anymore. So I don't have to use 7 iron ingots making a bucket. In fact it seems that in A21 a buckect will be useless.. We won't be able to craft jars in the forge, and any water we find in loot, a vending machine or get from a trader can be murky or drinkable. But its not in a jar, its just a useable quantity of water. We want more water? Then we have to make the dew collector. Many dew collectors.
