  1. Is it squash? Wood fiber bits with coloring? Probably why we don't have canned pumpkin as a loot item. Canned chicken, well it could be boiled buzzard for all we know. πŸ₯« Yuck!
  2. That's called Rage Quit. But you will be back....'cause its fun and a challenge and maybe something will break all you've built and deleted everything stocked in your disorganized chests. Happened to πŸ˜„me more times than I can count. But I learn, and try again. Really, this kind of thing can happen in most games...think Windows crash or no UPS when the lights go out. Maybe a 'simple' game will allow recovery, but not necessarily this one. Nature of the beast. Hmmm, try again. Hope for the best. And see what RNG is gonna give ya. My current game, day 12 has not been exceptionally kind. One never knows.
  3. Cool. Stick around. More bantering, disagreement and moderator wit and humor is sure to come. Have fun.
  4. Hmmm, well as it stands now anyways. The game has not yet been cast in Gold. Yeah, my machine can handle more CPU core usage too. But the game is not broken for me. My guess is that it may pose somewhat of a dilemma for TFP: Either do vast re-coding to utilize the extra available CPU cores for some players or deliver a finished product within their time frame that'll pretty much be a one-size-fits-all product. Folks she-dog about it taking too long to be called 'finished', others say it isn't using all the tech possible. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. That's my opinion. And I can see where you're coming from as well. Neither of us owns stake in the company... edit - Roland pretty well summed it up while I was writing this. Late to the party I suppose.
  5. Lol. I had a big Momma decide to attack my front door the other night. She was alone. I had bad aim with using the compound bow from above and managed to shoot off both her arms rather than plant an arrow in the top of her head. She wasn't fazed at all. Armless, she stood there head-butting the door! I found humor watching her and was reminded of Monty Python. "Its only a scratch."
  6. Yep! I can't do any better than what you're predicting...so I'll RNG with it. Would be nice if even some of your reveal predictions prove to be true though. Except the February of next year part. Please, no...πŸ€—
  7. I guess @meganoth was asking...how many plants of corn are you harvesting? How much seed and how much vegetable do you get from each harvest? And compare those numbers to your other plant harvests? But, I have also found it to be a challenge to get ahead on Super corn in A20.6. I just decided that I would not farm until very late into my current play through..so I can't help you out with numbers as yet. Day 91 and not a crop planted.
  8. @Riamus - Let me be one of the first to welcome you to the forums! Many of us here tend to have a short attention span, or at least prefer dealing with one issue at a time. Your post is well written, but covers way too many points for one sitting imo. If you haven't already, take a few evenings and read through the forum threads, since some of the things you mention have been addressed (not necessarily resolved) before. Then, maybe those in the know can help answer your remaining how-to's or why-not's one at a time. See ya next time! πŸ™‚
  9. @Syphon583, I've not tried to change any of the game code, ever. Then again I always steered clear of the Wasteland too. This playthrough has proven it to be quite managable, so delving into the code may not be as daunting as I feared. I'll have a look. I may be able to pull it off. Yeah @theFlu I think both the OP and I were talking about the robotic turrets. That whine they produce...not my favorite. Just a gripe from me. I'll still use them under the right conditions. But I don't find generators, (unsightly) wiring and the corresponding maintenance to be my cup of tea as it were. You're right. Everything's quiet (except for the generator) until a sensor is activated and then blam blam blam. It's a balance, give and take. Do or don't, win or won't. Like you say, it all depends on the base set up. I'm gonna try to eliminte that turret whine. But not today.
  10. I've found an in-game vehicle that's awesome. It's called a Marauder. Don't happen to to know who created it do ya? I'm not much into PVP servers. But many folk are. And those who want more than eight players on a server in that environment have to turn off EAC, which yes, kinda kills the PVP experience. So, maybe the constraints are imposed by EAC and TFP is not to blame? Only askin'...
  11. And I would go so far as to say that it's annoying. Would be nice to be able to switch it off.
  12. Not sure if Trader Jen is saying to me 'Thanks, Son' or 'Thanks, Hon'. I think my headlamps are close to hers in size (well, with the armor and all), but since I always visit Jen while I'm sporting a cigar and a cowboy hat she may get confused. Yet there's those Wight zombies who I'd swear are calling me Mother Fletcher when telling me to run....so maybe she is calling me 'Hon'. My next hearing test is scheduled in a few weeks.
  13. I have a cousin to Alienware, its called a DELL. Because it was available when my other laptop machine puked (burnt out on the motherboard), I bought it pretty well maxed out 6 months ago. I throw warranties out the the window, and never knowingly pay for them upfront, for any product. Either it works or it chokes, right? Bloatware...well its every frickin' everywhere. MS is a prime example. Doesn't make it right. but it is a reality. Good you point it out. Good luck in removing/restricting it. My experience has been replace every 3 years or so. Keeps me up to date on chip tech, and allows them to embed @%$# I don't want. And the revenue keeps on 'a rolling. Like I can control this?
  14. Yes, you have done your research. I looked at your links. I don't know what a modder can do, but maybe not called a MattMart? Just a skeleton in a nice mini-shop who speaks to you? Or maybe the shop is not nice, just a few piles of bones...we can dream, right? You are right. double S is correct. My keyboard is crap if I don't type it correctly. My glasses are crap if I can't read it good enough. I am perfect. ☺️
  15. It took me some time. But everytime you said 'Newstand' I really don't think the devs/moderators got your meaning. It's a translation problem. Well, we have solved that problem. Maybe a modder can give us a few 'MattMarts'...🀩
  16. And now I think I begin to understand. Your newstand = A mini-Trader kiosk with a little bit of anyything for sale? A place I can sell scrap without having to go to see Trader Jen or Hugh or Joel? Maybe I don't get a good price...but I can get. Is that your idea? "There is one small mod that i love -it add a chance that zombie after dead will not disapair but will change into corpse" - So I can harvest the rotten meat and bones? Oh, that would be ok too. Sometimes I really need to make more glue/duct tape. Did I get your meaning right? Oh, I don't mod the game (yet). Maybe some day. But I'd like to understand your meaning anyway. Too often intent is lost in translation. πŸ™‚
  17. Emm, I for one do give a crap about the game Sir @Guppycur, and I do enjoy a boost in QoL. I don't give a flying buzzard's buttocks about how hard others want to make it, as long as I retain the option to play how I like to play it. Either TFP gives me that option or I can get it in a mod. I have dappled with your mods as well. Your work is very good, and I can't do what you do. But to minimalize those of us who play to relax, albeit with challenge, versus those who want the zombie world to be able to rip off their face during every encounter...it's not an honest comparison imo. I'll say it again: We all enjoy playing in a different way. And I apoligize @Matt115 if your skeletons and bone corpses aren't here. Tell me, what kind of magazines are you going to sell in that magazine stand? Kiddie Pierogi? Kielbasa Killer? Ok, I joke. Hope you see my humor (dark, like skeletons...) πŸ˜‰
  18. Why not? No bones about it πŸ˜›
  19. Well perhaps @doughphunghus. TTP wants players to go out of their comfort zone, that's been established throughout the recent forum threads. One way to do that is to force the collection of brass. Lots of it? Well, I take anything brass I can get. And we know it takes a lot of smelting to build up a large quantity of bullet casings. Never swimming in casings to the point where I'll throw out a candlestick in favor of some other loot. I've played the War of the Walkers mod, and yeah copper and zinc are found as ores. For me it was not a big game changer, just a different mechanic. If you are infering that TFP like us to use traps, I can't say. I don't use traps other than spikes. I seem to manage well enough with out them. We all have our different playstyle. And I'd bet we all like bullets. Which means we have to loot and salvaage for brass. No two ways about it.
  20. I've thought of that too. So if we could gather some of that brass, the target we are searching for would be maddeningly small. I mean, we've found our arrows stuck in the ground and they're not big things to hone in on and retrieve. That brass? Maybe they'll allow it to be gathered some day, but I would bet it would be 1 casing = 1 scrap brass...πŸ€”
  21. AI within the game that can sense and adjust to player satisfaction...its a real thing now. Scientists develop model that adjusts videogame difficulty based on player emotions: The novel approach will help create a better gaming experience for all types of players -- ScienceDaily Then we can debate the AI...πŸ˜„
  22. But just like cycling through block orientation, its easy to overshoot what you want from the toolbelt using the mousewheel too. Been hit upside the head a lot because of that. My keyboard skills ain't what they used to be. And I play relatively relaxed engagement with the zeds. Some POIs I must be on top of what my mouse scrolls to, else it may be bad...but we don't have to jump through hoops to finally choose what weapon we want. Dodge/retreat and it will probably be ok - or not. Block choice/orientation is not usually an imminent death scenario. I just deal with it.
  23. Meg, its a game currently in 'Paused Alpha'. Still available on Steam. The parent company owns ARK. The game, even unfinished, was good, but it was abandoned. Yep, $. Both the developer and those who purchased it took a chance. They took it in the shorts much more than we did I'll bet, and there was a potential update yet lawyers got involved and that was squished. I stand by my definition of scam. ARK I find unsavory in and of itself (I own a copy). But that's not relevant here. Or maybe it is... Many good Eastern European programmers lost their job too. I know their origin because when the game first came out, they didn't do a good job of concealing the code. I didn't hack it, but I read it. They didn't follow a core directive...it was a working haphazard mess with poor naming conventions. Maybe that was one of the reasons it wasn't pursued. Too much to clean up. Quick dash for cash, coupled with poor project management. No, not drawing any comparison to 7dtd. Just reinforcing my claim of 'scam'.
  24. I am laughing. I used to care too. Thanks for the reminder. πŸ€—
