  1. So are you saying we should take the opinions on this forum with less salt, or what? If so, then you don't see the real problem here? I agree. Some youtubers do use the "wow factor" in their opinions to gain more followers and money but I don't believe that's the case here. I believe he's explaining his natural point of view. He even pointed out some positive things as well (which somehow went unnoticed). But all of this brings us back to a main point. 1) You clearly have a biased opinion here, for obvious reasons. 2) The majority of this forum is riddled with nut huggers who wouldn't even dare speak bad about TFP or the game, and consistently ridicule those who do post anything negative. Can you blame him? Why would he or anyone else come here and try to have a conversation? Especially after reading this thread. Again, the main point. A person can't express their REAL negative opinions or problems with the game without having 50 nut nuggers coming to TFP's rescue and telling them that if they don't like it then come up with something better, or learn to mod the game. Who in their right mind would even try after reading several threads like these? Edit: Nevermind you already addressed this and I didn't read it before I posted. If you want a utopian forum where everyone only talks about how great the game is then just say so and stop hiding behind this fake "we're always open to have a discussion and resolve your issues" facade BS platitude. Just be honest. (note: This part isn't referencing you Laz Man. Just in general)
  2. What about "if I had a dollar for every time someone was just looking I'd be as rich as trader Joel."
  3. I would rather them fix the controls on the gyro or come up an alternative before adding 1st person to be honest. But that's just me.
  4. Small correction. Those type of people don't mind if it's on the other end of the spectrum and you post how great TFP and the game is. You will be welcomed with open arms. But if you have anything negative to say then you had better get ready to feel the wrath of the those who are so far stuck up....you know....that it automatically gets written off and labeled as "dey only doing it for moneyz" by the fragile, dismissive and....you know....type people who act like you just disrespected their grandmother at a funeral. Butt, even if you are polite and bring up a real issue you will be told to "mod the game if you don't like it". This is a goto move by the ....you know...type people. Any and all constructive criticism is only allowed under 4 conditions. A) You MUST be a....you know. Whether its a mod on the forum or a wannabe mod (which is VERY rare because those types are usually too busy....you know.) B) Being a well known modder in the community is a big plus. Your complaints will garner more attention and be received much better by the community than the average person. C) You must say a minimum of 5 nice things about TFP and the game when also posting constructive criticism, otherwise you will be met with...well...you know. D) Accept the fact that it's pointless to ever post any kind of construction criticism at all without be met with everything mentioned here because of these type of .....you know. Welcome to the community by the way.
  5. You say this and then go on a long rant of excuses as to why the game is still the way it is after nearly 10 years and use the "development" changes as a reason behind it. It seems like you only want the term "development" to be used whenever it fits your point of view. If this game was only released ~2 years ago then you would have a point. But it's been out for nearly 10 years with several constant major changes to the core game itself from each version and eventually people get to the point of "I'll believe it when I see it but I don't have much faith". Because that's whats been offered and that's on TFP themselves. This last release has some good aspects in the game no doubt. But it also has alot of bad points as well. Some of the issues are still there from A17 bug reports that haven't been addressed. Hell, look at the new folder structure BS (which is a big issue). All of this points to the game declining. So why should I think A21 is going to be any different than it was from A17 to A18, or A18-19, or A19 to 20 when they haven't given me any reason to believe it will? Because its "new" and going "gold"? Neither does yours.
  6. I haven't had this happen in a long time but check to make sure there still isn't a tiny part of a block that used to be there. This used to drive me nuts. You have to run around and check closely because it's usually very small.
  7. When a person has to resort to irrelevant semantics like this instead of addressing the initial post (when you were referring to yourself to "we have") then it's a clear sign of defeat without ever wanting to admit it. So lets try this again and I'll be more direct here (as if it wasn't already). You said this above.... This was a reference to the other thread and you said "we've established". So tell me......who is "we"? See, once again, pushing your opinions onto others and trying to pass them off as facts. Thanks for further proving my point once again. Here's another theory as to why I don't recognize it. IF, and that's a big IF, they are too few and far between the amount of time you spend arguing with people who don't like certain aspects of the game and trying to convince them that your are right and they are wrong based on your obvious one-sided perspective. Here's another question since you said "truthful discourse". Out of your last 100 posts, how many of them are criticizing TFP? That's what I thought. You try too hard to pass your opinions off as clear facts and use your "super moderator" title to push your agenda and you know it. Stop with the BS. You know there are sheep like the BFT2000, or whoever the hell her name is, will do whatever to kiss your ass and you use it to your advantage. You have been called out on this crap for years by many others than myself and where there's smoke there's fire.
  8. "We have"......Or was that just you trying to push your blatantly biased opinions onto others due to the fact that TFP can do no wrong in your eyes. Stop with the BS.
  9. I agree with your suggestion on having more starting options. However, I could be wrong here, but I don't think this would be feasibly possible at the moment since all major changes they make to the core game are basically universal, and having this feature in MP would be terrible IMO. So until they find a way to separate SP and MP settings from one another (which I hope they do at some point) then I wouldn't expect this any time soon. Similar to above. I agree that a permadeath option should be included. This is what I play on every run but I obviously have to personally limit myself to this option since it's not included. But I also understand it since, again, the core game is universal. I hope some day they are able to separate SP and MP.
  10. You don't think the tempered mod is only meant to be an upgrade to the blades themselves and not an additional blade itself? Judging by the description --Increases block damage by 10% and lowers degradation by 15%--That's how I see it anyways. This tells me that it's something we do to the blades themselves that make them stronger and last longer. I could be wrong though. Questioning this games logic at any point will only make your head hurt. Hell...questioning any game with zombies will do that lol.
  11. This is the best explanation I can come up with. Just don't question the logic or practicality behind it lol. All blades are diamond tipped and then serrated. I thought maybe you could put both blades at the bottom of the handle to level out the weight but I personally like my man parts to still be intact while chopping wood. How ironic would that be, huh? 😄.
  12. I don't care. I was only using that small aspect as an example to the point you seemed to have missed and took it too literal. I never suggested they did. They did, however, promise features years ago that are still not in the game. I did. By buying the game 5x and continuing to play it. I don't owe anything more than that. Not sure about that. There are still plenty of people who play on console and that hasn't been updated in what 5-6 years. But I get your point.
  13. I don't necessarily disagree with this, but don't you see the problem here? They're making the game easier for newer players while also (seemingly) forgetting about us players who have been playing the game years instead of trying to find a balance between both. I mean, who hell cares if the sticks, stones, and feathers are now highlighted in the tutorial. We've been playing the game for years without it.....we know how to find them. My point is, it seems most of the criticism is coming from vets who have spent hours of time on the game since damn near it's inception (~10 years ago) and it feels like we're the ones being left out. And let's not sugarcoat it for what it is. It's money. Future money. That's it and that's all. I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but if a million people supported my project for an entire decade then I would do something to show a bit of gratitude after 9 years instead of only trying to cater to newcomers just to make a buck.
  14. If something noticeable is sticking out of someones back pocket then I'm going to eithe; question my own sane logic and/or my own purpose in life in general.
  15. How about not having the ability to create guns to start at all unless you get lucky and find one along with the ammo. Until then you're stuck with melee weapons. Make the game last longer by adding more purpose and feeling of accomplishment instead of everything being handed to you on a silver platter.
  16. The fact that you seriously don't see the issue AND contradiction within your statement here is mind-boggling. First, you say the game the game "offers a struggle to everyone", but then go on to say that your an experienced player and that YOU yourself limit yourself to certain guidelines. More than once in this thread. That alone is a problem. Sure, the game itself offers a lot of different paths but it only promotes the player to take a few of them. @meganoth You should tell this to Roland. Because he runs arounds here like the gatekeeper himself whenever anyone says ANYTHING remotely negative about the game.
  17. Because it's called 7 days to die lol. Every 7 days the zombies get more desperate which heightens their senses 10 fold. On a more serious note, I would love for them to add in a feature for hordes like Project Zomboid's helicopter event. In that game, a helicopter will randomly fly by once every 6-9 days and it will continue to hover above you if it spots you for a period of time, and the noise of the heli draws in every Z within a certain radius to our location. The only way to avoid it is to either prepare for it by listening to a particular radio station at a certain time. Or get lucky and either be inside of a building or a dense enough forest to be not seen when it fly's by. I'm not sure how this would work with 7DTD but adding in something like this would not only make sense lore wise as to why the horde happens, but it would also make it a LOT of fun IMO> I've heard the FPPI ( Fun Pimps Pharmaceutical Industry) were responsible. But we'll never know. Your asking too many questions. I mean, why do we carry 4x4's in our back pockets?
  18. Even 16-18 seems very abnormal, and 22 seems WAY too high for vanilla (unless your running a heavily modded version). I only have 16 in my system and I don't know how much I generally use (because I've never had an issue to make me check) but I highly doubt it was ever maxed out, otherwise I think I would've noticed by now. I also tend to have the news muted or something else running on my 2nd monitor while I play too, and I've never experienced any major performance issues with the game and I've been playing for years on the same system I built 12 years ago that is still running DDR3. Hell, typing this now with only firefox running is taking up 4.7GB (29%). Maybe16-18 is normal for others but I personally haven't seen it. Is task manager saying 7DTD is using that much memory, or just in total while playing? Because I'm thinking you may have a lot of programs running in the background that you might not even be aware of. Or, you said you sometimes have youtube or something else running on your 2nd monitor so it could also be the browser and having alot of addons. I'm just guessing here. But I'm only saying this because, as someone who has been in the tech business for nearly 20 years, this is very common. For the record, you can open task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and see how much memory each individual program is using by clicking on 'Memory' tab and sorting from high or low. I would suggest checking this. By default, task manager looks like this (I'm assuming Win10)
  19. It looks like you still have old mods trying to load. (see spoiler) If you wanna start from a fresh install. 1) Go to: D:/SteamLibrary/Steam/steamapps/common. and delete every folder named '7 Days To Die'. 2) Then go to: "AppData\Roaming"and delete the folder named '7DaysToDie' 2A) AppData is a hidden windows folder by default. Hold the "WIN" key and press "R" . This will open up "AppData". from there just delete the "7daystodie" folder. 3) Open Steam and it will reinstall a fresh game. ( it may not recognize that uninstalled it manually so click play and it will see that that game is not game and reinstall.
  20. Dude, the OP created this thread to ask others for help about a severe medical issue and you decided to use it as an opportunity to share your grief about a far significantly less issue instead of actually trying to help the person(s). How do you not see how selfish this line of thinking is? Issues that strongly effect those with a neurological disorder, and may even prevent them from even playing the game altogether>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Any issue you or anyone else may without have with the game and it's not even close. I hope the long string of lines are clear to you about how much more important one issue is to the other. I have problems that I wish they would fix too, but I wouldn't be upset one bit if they chose to spend more time adding an option for those suffering with epilepsy than fixing my very own relatively small issues. And I DEFIANTLY wouldn't ever use a thread like this to vent either.
  21. The cost of 2 leather, 1 duct tape, 15 cloth and 1 sewing kit. All of which can found with ease. Like what? Insulation mods that serve even less of a real purpose.
  22. STR and INT are good starting points but if both of you are throwing points into the same tree then that becomes counterproductive. You're supposed to be working together. There are 5 trees. So why not one of you focus STR and INT while the other focuses on two others. I would suggest Perception and Agility.
  23. I think we're both in the same building here just on different floors (per say). I get what your saying here and I fully agree with it.....in theory. I really do. Give every type of player an option based on how they choose to play the game and I'm all for this. All day long. I'm of the opinion..... "the more options, the better". I'm not in any way saying they should 'only offer perks that benefit my particular style'. But I am, however, saying that there needs to be a better way to balance it. Similar to what you suggested about the pack mule perk. I think that's an excellent idea. Having pocket mods hidden behind T1 'pack pule' would give people more of an incentive to put points into it. I see the purpose of having "pack mule" as a perk, in general, but in doesn't really make sense in it's current state with how the rest of the game is designed. Just make it make sense! And do the same with the rest of perks. Speaking of perks and the "charismatic" perk. I would also like to add that I think TFP is having a really hard time trying to balance perks for players both MP/coop and SP players as well IMO. This alone offers a different challenge. I think they're trying their butts off to find a balance but that's a big task because trying to cater to both sides at the same time is an extremely hard thing to accomplish without taking away from one side to other. Especially for a game like this where I imagine the pool of players is nearly split 50/50 between MP or SP. I have nothing to back this up but I'm sure you get my point. Separating SP files from MP servers would help alleviate alot of issues IMO. But I'm not sure how viable that option is.
  24. I use Charismatic Nature in every game, but I'm a team player. Also animal tracking, lock picking, huntsman, and treasure hunter, depending on my mood. Who are you to decide what is or is not a useful skill to other people? Good for you but I'd say your in the minority. So who are YOU to decide. Now go sit down son.
