  1. // GREETINGS // Welcome to the new and improved SMX series for 7 Days to Die - Alpha 20. The goal with this mod is to give the entire 7 Days to Die user interface an extreme makeover an refashion it into how I believe the user interface for the game should be experienced. SMX consist of several modlets which can be broken down into three separate mods: SMXhud, SMXmenu and SMXui. These are all stand alone and can be used separately or, as is the intention, together with the other two and all three mods combined is what makes the SMX experience complete! In addition we have the core, the main modlet if you will, SMXlib. This is a library modlet and even though it makes very little changes on its own it holds all the assets that the other mods need to function. Because of this it is a mandatory modlet that will need to be downloaded and installed no matter which of the other ones you choose to use. SMX tries to create an experience as close up towards the vanilla user interface as possible. With little to no changes that can disrupt the balance of the game. The only exception being the extra slot on the crafting queue which is there to make the design fit and hardly disrupts game balance! Then we have the optional modlets. We are aware that some people want the extra bling bling, and as such we offer these as optional downloads that can be installed alongside the main modlets from each series to expand upon the features from vanilla. We offer official optional downloads such as: Target Health Bar, Bigger Bags and a Third Forge Slot. Other optional modlets and compatibility patches might become available from other mod authors. We hope you will enjoy playing 7 Days to Die with the new experience that SMX brings to the table. Have fun! - The SMX team. // TERMS OF USE // You are allowed to use these modlets as is for your own personal use and/or on a server you run and/or administrate. You are under no circumstance allowed to distribute any SMX and/or ZMX branded modlets without written consent from the main developer. Did you check the folder hierarchy and made sure you didn't install the modlets too deep? Did you disable ALL other mods or modlets and then try again to see if the problem still exists? Pick one and stick with it as we do monitor all of them and having to answer the same thing on several sites just leads to confusion. // INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL PROCEDURES // First and foremost, the most important thing you need to do with SMX in A20: >> !!TURN OFF EAC!! << Backup your save game before installing ANY mods to the game. We don't expect SMX to cause any issues, it is just good practice! Download the mod or mods you want to install from the list below. Decompress the downloaded files with WinRAR or a compatible compression software like 7zip. Copy or move the Mods folder you just decompressed into your 7 Days to Die installation folder. Overwrite if prompted. Verify your install by checking that the ModInfo.xml file is located in this Hierarchy: "\Mods\modletname\ModInfo.xml" Remove by deleting the modlet folder in question from within the Mods folder. // DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS // SMX modlets can be downloaded from Nexusmods (our main site) or GitHub. Alternatively it can be installed via the 7 Days to Die Mod Launcher by sphereii. When opting to use Nexusmods or GitHub you will have to do the installation manually by following the procedure above. When opting to use the Mod Launcher the installation procedure will be more automated but you will need to make sure that all the different modlets are installed as you won't get nested downloads like from the other two. Please note that the Mod Launcher is a separate piece of software that you will need to download and install on your system and then setup properly before downloading mods and modlets with it. Follow the links below to go to the download sites and then select which mods to download from there. // SMXhud - THE HUD REPLACEMENT MODLET // SMXhud changes the game HUD. Everything you see on the interface while running around in the game world is part of the HUD experience. The purpose of SMXhud is to change that part of the user interface and change it into a more horror like and gritty art style all while trying to be as informative as possible but not intrusive. SMXhud - The Base HUD conversion. ZMXhudCPTHB - Enables the Target Health Bar for SMXhud. (Install optional modlet ZMXhudCPTHB to get the target health bar) // SMXmenu - THE MENU REPLACEMENT MODLET // SMXmenu changes the game menus. Everything you see when you start the game or when navigating the different options and settings is part of the menu experience. The purpose of SMXmenu is to extend the art style and feeling from the HUD into the menus and to supplement SMXhud to create the SMX experience. SMXmenu - The Main Menu conversion. SMXmenu - The In-Game Menu conversion. SMXmenu - Video Settings Window. ( !! NOT YET AVAILABLE IN A20 - COMING !! ) // SMXui - THE UI REPLACEMENT MODLET // SMXui is an extension of SMXhud and SMXmenu and will bring the art style over to the rest of the user interface. We've tried to maintain as close a relation to the vanilla interface as possible but we have also granted ourselves some artistic freedom when it comes to some areas. It deviates from vanilla with the fifth crafting queue slot which I added to make it fit the overall design better. The other changes we made are all optional like the third forge slot, the target health bar and the big bag conversion modlets for those that want a bit bigger bags. SMXui - The forge with the third forge slot enabled. (Install optional modlet ZMXuiCPTFS to get the third forge slot and ZMXuiCPBBM to get the bigger backpack) SMXui - Totally reworked skills windows. The goal was to make it look like a talent screen. ( !! NOT YET AVAILABLE IN A20 - COMING !! ) SMXui - Trader Conversation Window. SMXui - Character Screen Window with normal backpack and the item info window. SMXui - Vehicle Window with normal backpack and empty info window. SMXui - Map Windows with increased map texture and 48 fully configurable waypoint icons.. // SMX - THE OPTIONAL MODLETS // SMX sports a variety of optional modlets. Some are meant as small QoL additions to the vanilla experience like the third forge slot and the target health bar while others are meant as pure extensions that push the vanilla experience out of balance. ZMXuiCPBBM - A scrollable big bag mod for SMXui. It has 100 slots and adds search functions to the backpack, containers and vehicle storages.
  2. Hey all, I've been playing with some friends on 2 rented servers we have (Both hosted by Nitrado). No mods or anything, just a vanilla server. I have no issues connecting to either server and I can play without any issue or lag. Ping seems to be fine, nobody sees me lagging or teleporting around, and there's no issue at all with the gameplay. However, randomly, whenever I'm opening my inventory or trying to loot something, the game will suddenly freeze completely, and it'll be a toss up as to whether the game will continue or the game will just give me a Network Timeout issue and kick me out. Nobody else on the server has any issues with getting timed out. I'm playing on wi-fi, connected to the 5ghz band, and I have a fast, 500 mb connection.   5. This mod is derived from "Tristam's TacticalAction" mod. I removed a ton of unused and broken items and added a lot of missing items/features. A lot of legacy code and references were removed so it is truly just the guns and ammo now. I have since made so many changes that it warants the renaming from "TacticalAction ViperInfinity" to "Tactical Weapons". This mod adds various ranged weapons, mods, and scopes while maintaining most of the vanilla features or expanding on them. You can craft these new items at the Ammo Bench (New workstation). All credits to IvanDX for the original mod and Tristam. You can safely delete TacticalAction from your mod folder and replace it with this. Hello everybody I'm here to present you a software I developed, running on Windows, that can be used while playing to 7 Days to Die, to autorun, autodrive (and autotrack animals and automine in future version). So it's not a mod of the game as we mostly know it, in fact, it will just simulate your keys pressed to run and walk in loop, so you can get rid of touching your keyboard, nevertheless, I decided to make it specific to 7 Days to Die. In the future, I would also like to get info from the user to automaticaly compute the optimal loop It is free, and open source (sources will be available when I'll publish a complete version of it). For now, I would like to know if some people would like to test it, giving me feedback. EAC (EasyAntiCheat) must unfortunately be disabled to get it work. Hey there, only on dedicated MP server with and without EAC with and without mods summary of the problem: I am unable to interact with things on the dedicated server i am hosting to play together with friends. I also have the problem that i fall through the world sometimes when the "desync" happens. I am still on the server tho but as i said cant interact with things. Zombies just walk past me even when i punch them. i haven't found a way to reproduce this issue and pin it down certain things because it happens on a number of occaisons like: - harvesting a chicken - looting containers - just walking through the world Both friends i am playing with don't have this issue Did you start a new game and re-create the issue? = Yes Have you validated your files through Steam? = Yes After validation, did you re-try with a brand new game? = Yes I just set up a new server and a clean install of 7 days an d the problem is still there Server log: https://pastebin.com/Xni2mF7z Client log: https://pastebin.com/DMqmrsWq I hope someone can help me
  12. so i keep trying to load into a server with my friends and it woukdnt work. so i tried my single player server and got the same thing. iv tried verifying game files, reinstalling, clearing my cash, and reinstalling again.   13. I started playing with mods and my friend cannot join me now, we both installed the same mods but when he tired to join me he gets error codes and is stuck loading in. Can anyone help us out with this issue
  14. I keep getting the error below; "EXC Memory stream is not expandable" and I'm not quite sure what I can do to remedy this. I have tried to completely uninstall the game and reinstall it. I took mods out and started a new world and got the same error. Please let me know if you know how to fix this!
  15. Apparently this is an issue that is fairly common and I seem to have run into it. About two days ago, I ran into an dilemma where I was on my paramotor flying to a trading outpost when I teleported onto a bike that had disappeared after a crash several days earlier. I was stunned that the bike came out of nowhere, so then I went on the bike in the general direction of my paramotor. I noticed that the paramotor icon wasn't on the map, so I knew it was also glitched, however, I got to close to it and warped back onto it. When I got on it, I was unable to move and was in first person mode with zero controls whatsoever. I tried everything I could to exit the vehicle, but I was unsuccessful. After flying for about a minute or two, the game crashed saying the there was an issue with G Stack Overflow. When exited and restarted the game, the issue seemed to resolve itself and I went over to the area where my bike was so I could pick it up. When I got on and then subsequently got off of the bike, I noticed that all of the items in my hotbar where missing, which didn't make any sense. I looked up online and apparently this issue is rather common, with people for multiple years saying that this was an issue that they've run into, but that nobody would help them. I really enjoy playing 7 days to die and have put about 179 hours into the game this past month or so. Personally, I'd rather not stop playing the game and would like to get assistance so other people may be helped, but I'm not sure what to do. I talked to a person who posted yesterday who also had an issue related to this and we both agreed that it's incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure what to do but if any developer or person would be able to help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for advice on two issues that I ran into during today's playthrough. Hopefully there's a quick fix. The first is that the system tray (for the life of me I can't remember the technical name) continuously pops up every minute or so. It'll warn me of a wandering horde or something similar, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to stop popping up. The second issue was odd, but for some reason none of the POI that my fiancée or I entered had any zombies, they were all empty. We used the spawning file to increase the normal environmental zombies by 4x for this save, but in our last 3x save everything seemed fine. Do you guys know what might be causing this? Thank you for any help I get, it's much appreciated.
  17. weird... The server crashed. I tried to start and world was corrupted. i typed "killall" in serve console... 2181 Lines with zombies killed i had to get an old backup but over 2000 zombies? I looked on teh monitor, where the console is running with the zombies killed and thoought "What? Hell opend finally?" But how is it possible that something like this happens? Yes there were mods with additional zombies but that? weird ...DX

I have a problem playing with my compatriot.After playing 2 days on his server, I try to enter the server and Iget this error (error on the attached screenshot) in the console.I tried to check the integrity of the files, any reset and after afull reset the error still comes back. Please help!!

  20. So i use steam to play 7dtd and my friends recently joined me and they are using xbox game pass PC. The first few days was a good, and everything was set up via Dedicated server Pingperfect. Everyone having a good time. However just yesterday. All my friends are not able to connect to the server. It has this error on the command "WRN Net LiteNetLib: SendData requested without active connection". Already tried some of the solutions given to me by customer support like reinstalling and wiping the game from scratch. Changing <ServerDisabledNetworkProtocols "SteamNetworking"> to ServerDisabledNetworkProtocols "LiteNetLib". So far all of those did not help. If anyone has similar issues or has a solution for the problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how alone I am on this or whether this is a change that's going to happen, but I much preferred the Alpha 15 and 16 temperature system where there was a flat insulation value and you could die of freezing as opposed to just having side effects of getting hungry or thirsty faster. Also, as a side note, I very much liked it when you could see different types of food in your hand, like the canned Sham being visible as canned Sham as opposed to the little "parcel".
  22. I am playing on PC, windows 10, single player. I have no mods. I was travelling along between cities in my 4x4 loaded with stuff and heading back to base. I alt-tabbed because my cat wanted attention. When I clicked back on the screen, I got a spinning wheel and the screen went gray. After 30-60s, the game crashed completely. I restarted and continued the game, but now I am on foot, no 4x4 in site and none showing on the map. Poof, gone.   24. We have a new Modded Server up and ready for Clans to start being formed. We have Areas set for the clans to start their bases and an intro Base for everyone. We need 2 Clan Leaders to start working on their areas and recruiting to their Clan as we get War Dates set up. It is PvPvE, but there are rules in place so we can deal with the real Jerks. We have a Discord set up to discuss anything (not just 7dtd) needed.
