That's sound for a loading problem. - The videocard maybe don't got enough RAM to load all the textures and need to get them from the HD (fix reduce texture quality). - The HD got a slow transfer/responce rate to load the new data - Or did you maybe activate a power safe function on a regular HD (not SSD) that let the HD sleep after x minutes. Then the few seconds the HD need to powerup let windows/game hang for that time to wait for the data. (Happen to years ago, when i used my data HD for games).

There isn't an ultimate strategy. It allways depend on PvP or PvE heavy. Play solo or with friends. I wouldn't build my base near a trader on a PvP heavy server, except you want to have many visitors. -
Super butter ok, that comes from double headed cow's with double udders. But super salt ? Is that some radioactive waste product ?:-) But i prefer super sugar anyway! 🙂

When you got the similar problems with other videocard before too, i don't think the problem is based on the videocard. You mainly should investigate into your other hardware/periphery you didn't changed so far yet. That's sounds like you have some Motion blur effect turned on.

Zombie rhinoceros and elephants ? A bear becomes harmless. Not to speak from a zombie meerkat colony, you can't hit and kill these little critters fast enough before they eat you from the toe's and fingers. Ohh damn, i hope they don't add zombie rats. -
Lightweight ammo. just doing 60% damage and range ! Can you hear the cursing dieing soldier on the battlefield, once the HQ changed to ammo manufacture to a low priced one to have enough cash to buy the important cigars ? 🙂 But you are right, bulk production can reduce waste prodution. Like when you change the production of the bullet case from a lathe to a press. But generell the bulk production only should reduce the work amount.

x1990905 Do you use you mashine as server or do you have an extra rented server ? When you use your own mashine as server, what internet connection you got, special the upload part ? When your friends connect to you, and you have just a small upload speed (like most DSL ) it could be a bottleneck. You should monitor the upload to verify that maybe. If you use an external server, that server might be to weak. DF use alot more RAM compared to vanilla 7D2D.

If you want to keep your savegame/world it is allways a bad idea to have automatical updates. Backup your world before you do manualy updates. There is no garantee that a mod (special overhaul mods) still works with the new basegame version.

This is basicly a steam feature to instal older and beta/unstable versions. Check out your steam launcher options.

Mosttimes i don't hide at any POI, i am building a 3x3 room. That give me sight protection. The sneak system work very well at DF, even at night you can take out zombie's with the bow. And when you got the passion you can sneak from behind and take them out with your sledehammer.

Starting quest "Craft 3 wood frames and place them". Damn Jim, i am a doctor not a carpenter, where should i get that book ? And the gamemechanic is against mason anyway. You place one block on another, when any mason would do this at his qualification i don't think he will made it. 🙂

So far i know, the burn forst only got the small lab without portal. At the Wasteland should be another Lab with portal. And at the wasteland could spawn rarely randomly portals too at the generation.

When you want be on an island anyway, who cares if the map is 2x2 or 4x4. Just generate the isle, with just more water around.

1. Zombies,Animals that is normal gameplay. After x days some animals,zombies can respawn at the chunk but normaly you get forced to hunt at different areas. That's why these wandering hordes and screamer exist. But the horde spawns allways at the same chunk you are, and when you just travel at that moment you won't recognize it. And when you don't hear any screamer at your base, you prolly don't run enough fires. 2. Maybe you should try some lower settings. Even when anythings works fine, all the textures/data still need to be loaded which could be a bottleneck. -
Why do you think you start with 2 blank books, when you only can have one class ? 🙂 The class book just give you the quest to unlock the research tree. You can craft new blank book with the material you gain when you scrap books you don't need. Don't forget to check traders for them.

Yep. When the generator produce 500W and your stuff just need 300W, the battery pack will be charged with 200W. And when you got solar panels, you replace the generator with them.

When you open the battery bank you maybe notice the batteries inside arn't full anymore. Just compare these with newly salvaged/looted ones and you notice the fuelbar. You can replace the empty ones with new ones and use the empty ones for crafting. But that only would be a temporary solution. You need to connect a generator to the battery bank to charge it.

It is just a point of view what release mean. For a player it mean, you got the final working game, you don't encounter any gamebreaking bug. For the devs it is basicly the same, they can do vacation afterwards and start with a new project. For a publisher it is the date he will get some money and not spend more money, even when the gamestate is just public alpha/beta. What's about new content, doesn't turn this the previous release in just a beta because they missed some feature's before ? 🙂 But honestly, today there is no real release anymore. Nearly any big game got a day 0 patch and without internet all the publisher would need to send a new copy with snailmail. But most of the gamer don't bother much they are like zombie's after fresh meat/brain.

Isn't a wiki the work from the fans/users not from the devs ? 🙂 Just add the wiki templete back, so people can create/modify entries. There are allways some people which like to do such things. Special now since your mod become more popular and attracted more player.

He should start a singleplayer game before he try to join the server. At this way he can be sure he installed it correct. Maybe you should watch him with a shared desktop view (Teamview,skype,discord (maybe) ) to watch his steps with the installation. Since anything is working fine at your side you installed it correct.

Yep, such things. 1 bucket full of water could create 1 water block which produce endless floating water following the gravity. If you put that water at a 1x1 anything is fine, but beware if a zombie open that 1x1, the water follow it. But that don't work anymore since they change the water physics at the vanilla game awhile ago. Lets wait for A20 i hear there should be a new water system.

Isn't that the progress ? You need Hazmat suit or mods made out of the fibes to enter the wasteland. You need to enter the wasteland for the lab. to advance at the laser weapons. You need the laser weapons to have a chance against the demons. It is normaly, that some major threats early are minor threats later. Or do you don't like that you can use Rad protection mods at regular armor and don't need Power armor ?
