Lol, don't remind me. I once wanted my own personal labels for boxes. I followed a modders tutorial on how to make something in Unity (never used it before this) and finally made a set of boxes. This was back in A17. In A18 I upgraded them with a few more. From start to finish it took me forever I had got it about to where I wanted it and TFP's then added writable crates to the game making my mod obsolete. Sort of a Win/Lose for me. I am fine now though as I am finally getting over the stress of it. My crates. Oh the thing you reminded me of is my mod needed paper to make a stencil and dye (or paint, not sure now) to use to print it on crate. Maybe the paintbrush too? Sooooo long ago.

From my understanding the backpacks do "dissolve" after 20 RL minutes...with everything in them. Yes, they may be durable (I think one time a fall or something falling on them would destroy them) but they don't last forever.

You could check one thing I have seen someone mentioned about a YTer having your problem. It seems that even though there was no swearing in their video the closed caption saw a word wrong. Am not sure of the word now but for an example it would be like if someone said port and the cc thought it was porn. Or the word duck being mistaken for the word...well you know. I can see that happening as I have had cc on sometimes when watching some vids and believe me it is not always right, sometimes not even close. I am guessing that there is not real people reviewing every single video for curse words and that it may somehow be related to how the CC works that some get flagged and then someone will (should) review it. So TL:DR you should watch your video with CC on and see if it mistakes a word for a naughty one.

Yeah, I have nothing against it myself but I know if would feel cheesy if it was the world you were going to play a regular game in but just testing stuff out and then deleted the world I think the majority would feel ok with. My thoughts too. It is for science I also think I learn better if I follow the vids and try it myself in a test game than just looking at videos and trying to remember while in my real game...I tend to forget a lot of what I have seen.

I didn't realize they would still spawn on player placed terrain blocks. Then I should have mentioned that the blocks I saw them placing were wood frames. I don't think anyone would dig up dirt and place dirt (then again if they didn't know about the terrain blocks maybe they would) I think the situation I saw was they had a base and made an exterior wall larger than their beds/claim block covered so they placed the wood frames to keep zombies from spawning inside their walls

I don't know of any video but if you had used it before in A19 maybe you could start a "test" game and use creative to get the items you need to set up some things. Could then just delete that game after you have practiced a bit or someone has found a video of what you are looking for. Sorry not more help. I haven't ever used the electricity myself to build traps. I probably should be looking for those vids myself lol.

I am wondering about this one. I thought, from what we were told, that the game did know what is a player placed block as zombies were not suppose to spawn on player placed blocks. I recall seeing players place tons of blocks inside their base to prevent this. As for workbenches I also thought the only reason we had to use land claim was so the specific person who placed the bench could pick it up and not just any player. Again, I am not sure of all this so someone in the know could confirm this.

You could use the info to get A5 to A7 above. I have (thought I had) all of them but for some reason I am missing A6...will have to see if I can get it. As for A1 to A4. From what I understand those were before 7 Days was on steam so no luch in getting those as far as I know.

From what I understand if you pass within 8 blocks of looted container it resets the timer. Some have changed this by putting any item in the container after looting and then after the loot respawn time is up then if you open the container and remove that item, close it again, the loot will then respawn. I am pretty sure someone did a video on it.

Does anyone else have trouble with those port sniffers? I have had my server working fine. Had others join from outside so I know the ports are open. I tried I think couple of those online port checkers and put in multiple ports I have open for my games and they still always say they are closed. I mean if the server works it has to be something I am doing wrong in the sniffer right?

Sorry for the long read. I think 100% of us will agree that you will never get 100% of us to agree that this game (or any game for that matter) is perfect for everyone. There are too many playstyles to have it so. For instance, I myself, have never, ever used electrical objects in game such at the traps or even the smg and shotgun turrets. I should say build. I have once or twice on occasion in a MP game put ammo in them and have repaired a trap. I hardly even use spikes. The thing is to me that there are a lot of single players of this game but I think it shines best when played in MP PVE. (My opinion, not fact) I like to mine and farm. I find it relaxing as hell. Now I do go out and loot and rarely I will even do quests. I do know though that there are others who live to do those things. They thrive on it. So it makes sense to try and band together with a group of players who like different things. I think akin to all the fantasy books, movies where you have a heroic group of adventurers made up of different members with specialties in different things. Imagine how awful those stories would be if the group was all just say mages, or archers or whatever (yes, I am screwing up my analogy as I am not well versed on the genre ) Anyway to make a long story longer, I think variety is the spice of life and we need to just join a group of misfits on an adventure to rid the world of these zombie pests and create a new and exciting civilizati..............damn it there goes Leroy Jenkins again... "Damn it Leroy, work on your timing!"

I just caught up on the last 3 or 4 pages...wow....TFP's better get A21 out soon before everyone goes completely bonkers lol. Some heated debates here. Debating is good though. Get to see different side of things. For me, I feel no matter what the changes I will still play the game. Been playing since 2015 and don't think there is much they will do to turn me completely off from it. Plus as long as they leave it modable like it is now, I think I and others will be fine. I mean those of us who dabble into the modded versions.

I have all copies of game from a5 to a20 in a "Keep Vanilla" folder for when I want to go back and play one of the older versions. I have been playing, now and again, version from a11 up. Just for curiosity I have check on a couple of them if there are any servers running and surprisingly there were some. I did see one for A17 but it was set for 1 player only. I did think I did see one for A16 but then it never showed up the next day. I must say there are a few A19 ones still up and running. Mind you I am thinking these are all multiplayer games and not dedicated servers. (Not sure on the A19 ones) Anyway the thing I was really curious about was does anyone ever go back and play the older version for kicks...I mean from A5 say up to A10 or 11.

I feel with what we have put him through over the years, one just won't do it.

There are mods out there now where smelting speed is increased. Am sure if you have a look you will find them in the modding section. You should be able to have a look at those and see how they did it.
