  1. Note that the spear will be changed in the next alpha so you have a real power attack instead of throwing it. Also, I believe I saw that you will be able to attack through holes and bars with it. I think with the increased reach compared to other weapons, it will become a good option for many people.
  2. I do them all in a day (one per day), but I also don't scrap everything in them as I don't need all that material in single player, nor the money from selling it. So I'll loot what is there and scrap certain things, but that is all, so finishing in a day is not a problem. That said, if you play really short days or have increased loot, that isn't going to be possible.
  3. It isn't possible for a game to add every possible setting that every player might want. Developers will add settings that they feel (right it wrong) are wanted by most players. This is the reason for mods... If the game doesn't give you the exact setting or gameplay you want, you mod it so it does. You say that there are ways to deal with the issues I mentioned, but there are also ready ways to deal with what you mentioned. There are a very limited number of POI that quests are for and you generally aren't going to keep doing low tier quests, so knowing what you've already done isn't that difficult. I don't keep a list and yet I know what I've done by just watching the name of the POI each time I take a quest. Maybe in a different town that uses the same POI, I might think I've done it but haven't in that specific town, but I'm also not trying to keep track. It just happens automatically as I play. This is a case where a mod is the way to go. It is extremely unlikely they would add such a setting in vanilla. This is actually an interesting idea and worth looking into, even as just a mod. Though, again with tier 5 quests, you'd be limited to only a few tier 5 quests per week because that is usually all you have on the entire map.
  4. Only 1 quest for a POI isn't going to work. There aren't enough POI with quests, especially at tier 5 for only doing one per POI. You might get by at the lower tiers by running around the map, though that's a lot of running, but at least at tier 5, it won't work unless you want to do very little questing.
  5. As a note, if this is single player or you have access in multiplayer, you can open the console (F1) and type debugmenu and hit enter. Close the console (F1 again). Now, press H. You will now be able to fly through things. Up is spacebar and down is CTRL by default. Once above ground, you can press H to land and then go to console and type debugmenu again to turn it off and close the console to be back to normal. It saves having to reload the game.
  6. There are various ways and places to increase your ammo looting ability to avoid needing to craft it. Tier 1 quests often have 100 rounds of 9mm ammo as a reward and are very fast to do. Travel to a few during the day and do a bunch of the tier 1 quests. Certain POI, like shotgun messiah usually have a lot of ammo. At tier 5, Dishong Tower usually leaves you with more ammo than you started with. You can also loot the treasure map chests for good ammo. In SP, it shouldn't be hard to get enough ammo for horde nights without crafting any... At least until you start using a bunch of auto SMG turrets. The main thing is not to use guns every day and everywhere. Use melee whenever you can during quests to conserve ammo. Except in certain rooms in POI where there are a lot of zombies at once, you don't need guns. Or use guns that you normally won't use on horde night so you have ammo for horde night for the guns you will use then. If you want to always use guns, then you need to accept that making ammo will be necessary.
  7. I think it really comes down to luck. I've had tier 3 pistols by day 2 or 3, tier 3 steel spear on day 1, etc. I've also been on tier 1 and 2 stone weapons and tools and pipe weapons for most of a week. It varies game to game.
  8. I saw trader Bob in the floor in one game as well. It seems like these are issues in particular saves and a new game solves the problem going forward. I have a feeling it relates to how some last when losing an area can cause things to fall through the ground and the trader falls one block before the listing completes. Unlike with a player, where you will automatically be reset/teleported when this happens, the traders don't seem to do this. Of course, it could be some other cause as it seems to only affect trader Bob.
  9. More than likely, your vehicles are still there. While the game is running, press F1 to open the console. Scroll up and look for info about vehicles. It should list coordinates of all personal vehicles in the game. Go to those coordinates to get your vehicles. Often during a crash, vehicles can end up being found in an earlier location (wherever they were when the game last saved their position) rather than where you are. Once you find the vehicles, you will need to pick them up and put them down again for then to show on your map. Crashes also tend to lose who "owned" the vehicle.
  10. Although it would realistically be hard to hear things when using an auger or chainsaw, I wouldn't mind seeing the ability to lower those sounds without losing all sounds. The same for the wind in the wastelands.
  11. I never saw any need to carry timed charges. Especially for doors. By mid game, I usually can break doors within a few hits anyhow and sure, they can shelves be faster than lockpicking, but I still never saw a need. I think I used a timer charge once and just put them in storage after seeing the result.
  12. Making it work like the auger would be great. That extra swing hitting grass is definitely annoying.
  13. Little late on my guess and the secret stash removal is probably right, but I'm still going to guess that they are adding elevators that work... Hands "elevated", stairs to go up, lots of people == Elevator (or escalator). Of course working elevators and/or escalators aren't going to be added, but I still like my guess. 😜
  14. I didn't say they would definitely be better after the fix. I said that they were saying it would improve and that *if* that is correct, then larger POI *should* be fine. Until we see it, there is no way to know. But based on what has been mentioned about the window fix, there is at least a decent chance of noticeable improvement. I would be surprised if they said it was improved if it wasn't as that would just really upset a lot of people for no reason. But that doesn't mean the improvement will be noticeable for all people. So, yes, I want them to play better and they probably will. If they don't, then obviously larger POI are not going to work well. Large POI are always going to be something that some players like and some don't. If you don't spend a lot of time in the game, you won't want to do those as they take a long time. On the other hand, if you normally play for hours at a time anyhow, doing a T5 isn't a big deal. That said, I do agree that there is a large jump from T4 to T5 and having something between them would probably make sense. My biggest issue with T5 is that there are so few that you are always doing the same thing over and over. Hopefully we will see a decent number of new ones in A21. Regarding what you are suggesting of these being "special quests"... What would that actually mean? People can already choose whether or not to do them and calling them special versus T5 doesn't change that. Are you suggesting a better reward for completing then because they are "special"? I think I had said earlier that my feeling is that the game already provides too good of loot too easily and making better loot for these isn't a great idea unless you lower all other loot. Besides, other than time, T5 aren't that hard to complete unless you are under geared and I think the loot you receive (everything throughout the POI, including loot room, and the reward) is already good. Or is there some other change that making these "special" instead of T5 would do?
  15. I just saw this mod and it looks great. I would love to see all the very of vehicles around the world. Is there any way to have the vehicles, but not have the special parts or working and repairable vehicles? Playing solo, I only need one motorcycle or similar fast and easy to maneuver vehicle for normal use, one four wheel vehicle for when I need extra space, and one air vehicle to get long distances over rough terrain. With such a limited need, having all those extra parts just takes up space without offering any real benefit to me. It would be great on a large MP game, but solo just doesn't need it. If it is possible to have the vehicles just for normal scrap/loot without anything else, that would be amazing.
  16. Yes, it is still in development and will be released as gold. There is at least one more alpha version that is expected within the next months. After that, there may be one more or they may go to gold once everything is working well. Check out the news and announcements forum to see what is coming in A21. Add for an actual roadmap, TFP says they won't provide one, so we only know the bits they share with us.
  17. Yes, there are many threads about it. However, at least from what we are heading about A21, the biggest issue causing lag on these are the bulletproof windows and those are being changed and supposedly improve the experience noticeably. Assuming what is being said is accurate, larger POIs should be no problem. And to be clear, by larger, I'm not suggesting something like the aircraft carrier POI in the prefab forum. I'm talking of only somewhat larger and I do think this is feasible with the engine once windows are fixed.
  18. I would be upset to see T5s made smaller and easier unless they added T6 at the same time and made those bigger and more challenging that T5s are today. No one is required to do T5 quests if they feel they are too hard or not with the time and effort. Changing them so casual players or those who don't want the challenge can do them is a bad idea. Those who don't like T5 difficulty or size can easily stick to T4 and do just fine in terms of loot and progression. You aren't penalized for not doing T5 quests other than not getting the T5 completion reward, which can be pretty nice, but it's also obtainable without doing T5s. I admit that there are times I don't want to bother with a T5 because of the time it takes, but other times I really enjoy them. When it comes down to it, I would like having larger POIs and add another tier for quests and loot to extend the game. Making the game easier when it isn't really that hard once you know the game and POIs just shortens the game and too many players run out of things to do long before even day 100, which is unfortunate.
  19. I was thinking the same thing, though as a helmet mod. Either way is good and would let people who don't need the help avoid it while those that want it need it can have it... If they are willing to use a mod slot for it. If they made this change, it could be adjusted to show sleepers on the current floor rather than the last 2-3 once completing everything else. For those that want it, this would help them avoid missing some and have to backtrack. Of course, sometimes following the"right" route means you go back to a previous floor, so maybe that would cause confusion, thinking they need to get the zombies before going up.
  20. I believe, though I may be missing something, that all "hidden" rooms with zombies have a partially broken door. Anytime you see a door that is partially broken, it often means that the only way in the room is by breaking the door (or wall). Other types of hidden rooms, such as ones where you crawl under or have to build blocks outside to reach don't contain zombies. There is a medical room in one of the T5s that has a partially broken door and two zombies are in it. In another T5, there is an empty medical room you have to break into if you want the loot.
  21. Just having water no longer leave divets if you dig under it or if it isn't filled full enough would need a great improvement. That's the most noticeable issue, imo. I also like that it will share space with other blocks and that movement suited in water will be improved. I don't know that it really needs anything else. Having good looking waterfalls would be nice, but isn't really that important.
  22. With a crash, it can forget that the vehicle is yours, so doesn't show up. Go to your map and you will see coordinates at the top. Negative on the first number is West and negative, to so you want to go to 1115 West and 371 North. You can point a waypoint there to make it easy to get there. The second number is just height above bedrock and appears to be ground level in your case, which is what you'd expect. Note that to get it to show on your map again after finding it, you will need to pick it up and put it back down so the game knows it is yours again.
  23. Another option if they don't want to hotkey it to come in front of you is to default it to behind you and then as long as you are standing still, you can turn and it won't reposition unless you move forward or backward and then it will once again go behind you.
  24. Yeah. There is value in hearing zombies that are near, but not immediately a threat, such as knowing zombies at the base of a POI are trying to get in so you can be irritated for them, but when the volume is the same as if they are standing in the room next to you and they are 5 floors down, it is a pain. You can't be certain if they are coming closer or if you don't have to worry about them for a while. Maybe a quiet and dull knocking sound when they are far below you. I'd even be fine removing the drums if they aren't within 20m horizontal distance and more than 5-10m vertical distance.
