Ok, two things. 1) wouldn't the vehicle show on my direction thing at the top of the screen if it was there? 2) No idea how to get to or see specific coordinates. Help, please?

I am playing on PC, windows 10, single player. I have no mods. I was travelling along between cities in my 4x4 loaded with stuff and heading back to base. I alt-tabbed because my cat wanted attention. When I clicked back on the screen, I got a spinning wheel and the screen went gray. After 30-60s, the game crashed completely. I restarted and continued the game, but now I am on foot, no 4x4 in site and none showing on the map. Poof, gone.
