  1. That is so insane and brutal - just amazing, lol. Eye damage (I flinched, lol) , self-loathing, & explosions - definitely make the survival part of the game more difficult. Jeez, just the exploding workshops alone would break folks. Dunno about making nail guns dangerous...oh make all tools dangerous as well like an ax mishap can cut off a few toes?
  2. Forges, workbenches, and chemistry stations will have a chance of severely injuring you if you don't have the proper clothing/equipment as well as the perks. So that you get a real "sense of personal achievement" when you make that pot and nails w/ only minor injuries. 😏 (I'd love to hear something about fish in the water and fishing someday but some more RWG tweaks would be cool.)
  3. Fantastic! Glad that you're doing OK - and UBBI being updated is a nice surprise. My wife and I love 7Days because it creates an alternate world that sometimes makes more sense to us. You make it even prettier, lol. Time to start thinking about a new map though.. 😃
  4. Oh - I like "Base in a Drum!, lol". Our "real home" is a baby castle soon to expand - *I* think that it could be fortified enough to withstand a horde...but I'm kinda notorious for saying that about POIs and things we build. I didn't even want to concrete it even though we get a nightly feral horde - sometimes a big morning one but we're awfully safe in our desert island tower so far ...it admittedly borders the Wastelands too. Right now though, we base in nice places and horde in concrete and steel - we'll have 3-4 main bases only one tower.
  5. Here's how much room there is in water tower_03 and we could fit more if we needed to. Safe for new characters and it's very easy to set up for early hordes - the picture is actually after a game stage 130 horde w/ demos and acid spitting vultures and the concreted tower did fine. I guess it's our lazy base - even lazier 'cause the wall is from a batch of 500 concrete shapes we scored from a crate in a wasteland lake (good times). We lost a gen but that was my fault obv. We're probably only here for a few more and will build a tower on a really high hill now although I do want to paint the tower. Glad FightingChook posted those pics - I'm liking that round tower and might try that out when we build our tower.
  6. Oooof that's ugly. A freakin' window? We've collapsed parts of towers when destroying blocks down below but it made some kind of sense i.e. blocks w/ a lot of HP but that seems dumb and unfair, lol. I'd use debug mode to fix that - I just doubt that devs actually want stuff like that to happen. *shrug*
  7. Glad to have this confirmed because our traps will be multiplying soon but I guess we can divide up the turrets to set up. I wasn't going the engineer route this time but can catch up to 3 quickly but don't know when I'd catch up to the teammate w/ 5 in Adv Engineering. Wasn't plannin' on it... I don't want to miss out totally though - I'm pretty sure that we saw the huge XP bonus the person who laid the traps got on our last map. It was past day 200 and 3-4 skill levels for a BloodMoon was normal but the "main engineer" was getting 6 levels. Ah well, good to know. 😃
  8. Right now we have separate Horde Bases and main workshops - building forts for Horde is fun but we're not in the mood atm: we'll risk POIs. We've been spending our Horde nights in water_tower_03 (The one that you can climb down into)- it's usually a quick base in early game or an easy camp when we're on the road but we concreted it, put up turrets etc. It's a little tight but we fit a workshop in it - might be a bit small for more than 2 though. An easy Horde night/safe base for us is the stone church belfry but it's tight as well. For more people we've based/Horded at the Water Works but also, barn_02 because it has a two good lofts. It's my and my wife's first base because we didn't know any better and experienced buddies just rolled w/ it. It's actually pretty cool once the barn wood is upgraded and we turned the barn floor into a killing box/pit of despair. For workshops only we like army_camp_02 (Quonset hut w/ the red cross on it) and the apartment above Crack a Book - we wouldn't spend a Blood Moon at those places there. (Kinda miss the red firehouse, kinda don't: almost too easy to base in.)
  9. Well that sucks - thanks for the warning. We'll have full workshops in POIs sometimes, we like our bases (usually) and it never occur to me that a quest next store could wipe it out. Oh hey - at least it's the last time that this will happen. 😄
  10. This is sounding pretty exciting - glad that I checked in!
  11. I can understand how *some of* the vending machines get restocked - for one thing there are a lot of "invisible NPCs," like the ones who buy stuff from our vending machines, sell the traders their stock, etc. There are also drones now - maybe Traitor Joe's has bigger ones to stock vending machines, lol. Vending machines refilling in the places like the red fire station was weird of course. We were glad that vending machines still worked because Jailbreakers & Rockbusters but I miss the occasional functional work station - it could just make the story take a "twist" or something although I admit that I didn't use them much. As for old dollars we always have lvls of Better Barter and there's a reason that Dukes not dollars are currency where we live.
  12. Yeah that would have been easy wouldn't it? Lol It was generated specifically to go up on an A20 server- but kinda might have been a version issue though: the *server's* config file wasn't "complete." I had to insert the feral setting but I don't know what else would have been missing. We still had another server but I didn't feel like comparing it line by line... The rep that I was talking to didn't seem to understand that, or the difference between stable and exp so we moved on to the next provider. It was also a 10k map - so I'm wondering if that was an issue as well. We were *supposed* to able to load one that size but maybe there was an issue there too.. I should still have the save files but I dunno if I want to bring up that awful world again to test: hoping it was an anomaly. [Aw I love making maps and then previewing them to see if there's a good city/biome balance, if the map actually filled in w/ towns (we tweaked the rwgmixer max values - slightly.) etc to make sure that it will a fun map that will last us for awhile. I rlly looked fwd to the map so it was bummer that it was ruined but the current 8k is pretty cool.]
  13. Both. We like to build cool places to hang out including painting, furnishing, and decorating them w/ turrets but there are great POIs to base in as well like the apartment on top of Crack a Book or the top of Higashi Tower. Lately though we've been using POIs for Bloodmoon because we're not super into Horde night right now so we'll fortify the old church or a water tower. I'm looking fwd to building the next Horde tower but I've haven't seen a good site yet: looking for a high hill/ cliff to build a tower on.
  14. Ok, that map was botched in some other ways and we're actually not with the server host anymore. Anyway, the map renderer I use shows radiation as a pretty thin square border. I am pretty certain that we've passed through a large radiation zone and we weren't close to the edge. At this point I don't know if sometimes the map might have a problem or that rad zones will be more common in A20. I haven't been able to see them at all including using the Radiation overlay on the map in debug mode. We seem to be finding a lot more radiation gear early on...
  15. I just uploaded a saved game to a new server and there is radiation on a lot of the map: pine, desert, and snow. Is this right, lol? I've rarely run into radiation in A19 but this might screw up an otherwise great map: it's covering a lot of towns. =|
  16. That is a current problem on Nitrado (and at least one other server provider) i.e. you put the world & the saved game in the right place and it doesn't work. One thing that you should confirm is which version that you're playing: you might have to switch the game from 7 Days Experimental to the stable version: folks are reporting that that helps w/ some issues (including us, lol). You should probably see if you can get a map up or generated w/o mods first - just my opinion. The issue is being discussed on the Nitrado 7Days forum and it's looking like a problem on the servers' side: the server can't find the world file even if it's in the right place. Some folks are getting it to work and we had some success w/ reinstalling the game on the server and just "trying again." I think that you should look at Nitrado's forum because the issues might be specific to the server provider and folks are trying to help each other.
  17. Aw, we love Fire_Station_02! ...so maybe it's actually good that it's not on the map ATM so we check out other new/updated POIs, lol.
  18. I've been having the same problem and changing those values in rwgmixer really seemed to have helped although I might have to maybe start smaller as far as the max number. ( I just checked on KingGen but it's not ready for 20 yet sadly.)
