  1. Another way is to use a map renderer: you can search for POIs as well as see where they are. https://kui.github.io/7dtd-map/
  2. TY! Cool, time to update then after maybe one more horde.
  3. Where does the current storyline end? I did the research rescue from hell fetch mission but then she seems to give me the same one again. I swear that I've seen folks on streams do more. but I'm still on 28 if that has anything to do with it. (Just wanted to "finish" this map first)
  4. RWG gives me two of every DFalls site so that's cool. [Are traders clones or holograms?] I am pretty harsh about the snow biome though: like, keeping it 12-15%. *looks at maps* ...has the Military Bunker always spawned in the snow? We've never got far before changing maps/updating/whathaveyou. πŸ˜‚
  5. I love you man. It makes sense. πŸ€—πŸ˜†
  6. Having a blast with 20 experimental - literally now that hazmats, Big Mommas, etc are walking bombs. πŸ˜ƒ What's the ultimate plan for the traders' POIs? Will be able to place bedrolls, campfires - new gates etc in their bases? ...also, am I the only one that rlly doesn't like Hugh's and Rekt's new POIs? Didn't see a need rlly for one thing.πŸ™„Lovin' the PEP abandoned traders though.
  7. Ah good - I was worried that I did a sloppy install because beer. So extra chance of getting DFalls Pois on RWG maps? I'm down w/ that. Glad that the trader swarm will be brought under control though. πŸ˜† Thanks for getting this done so quickly - I wasn't having fun in vanilla. *shrug*
  8. The good news is that my RWG maps now have all the DF sites but there are two of each i.e. two Anna's, two bunkers, etc. As for Vanilla traders, I'm getting 48-51 traders on a 10k map. Is that just me? πŸ˜ƒ Otherwise looking good so far, - except the traders won't let me put down bedrolls or any other objects.
  9. Excellent - it's looking pretty good. I see a bunch of modlets I've grown used to like trader protection being off and bigger tool belt etc. I'll watch your vids on it and we'll probably give that one a try if/when the demons make us ragequit: TY!
  10. Awrighty, we gave 21 three weeks and I think it's beautiful - can't wait to see those POIs in DF in a few months. OK, I actually can wait - we only started playing DF 1/2 a year ago so still have plenty to do. Like, I dunno, get our gamestage under control? SMH Still, just in case we want to use this time to learn a different overhaul while waiting: do any of the overhauls like Ravenhearst, Rebirth etc use a skill leveling system like DF? Kinda like it? I watched a lot of streams of other overhauls but didn't really catch if any were kinda similar to DF in that regard and there were other mods mixed in.
  11. Definitely the "desert island" game and although I play modded (like most of my games) I have to say that 7D2D stands out in that, imo, it doesn't *need* mods to be playable like some other games that I love but not as much. So immersive: when we first started playing, we had time and played a LOT and few times when we crashed at night I briefly thought of our barn base, the first place I felt safe in the game, lol! ...speaking of desert islands, more use of the islands in the future would be super. The sunset is best in the desert over the water. Thanks!
  12. Ah, Ok - dayum that was some brutal RNG. Cool, I like starting out in "the wilderness" and glad I don't have to rush to a town.
  13. Sorry if it's been brought up but are cooking pots rare in the wilderness POIs including cabins? My partner and I were separated by a few KMs and hit around a dozen POIs apart and together but no pots. Loved all the POIs along the long roads - really impressed by some and even the plain cabins look great inside now. So dunno if it was bad luck, cabins don' have pots, or what. [Brutal first game w/ my first "purposeful" dysentery but it was fun.]
  14. Huzzah for modders! The various overhauls blow my mind - the base game is so "versatile" i.e. some many ways to interpret and play it. The changes in 21 remind me of getting used to new mods. πŸ˜ƒ I didn't like the learn by looting idea for several reasons at first glance but the sense in it pretty quickly. It seems reasonable that someone figuring out how to make a robotic turret by reading tech magazine articles would have to read 38+ (?) magazines to figure it all out. That last magazine is something important I assume like making sure it doesn't shoot friendlies or getting the laser sight on. Also figuring out who gets what in a group is kinda fun and maybe some more teamwork is needed to make sure everyone is learning what they need to. Maybe some learn by doing mixed in 'cause I like Darkness Falls' skill system but I dunno yet.
  15. Aw, I was being snarky, lol, an I noted that survival was only one aspect of this hybrid game. OK, I hear you about us easily able to get the water situation under control quickly - I have 14 murkies boiling on day 2 because of of bars and cafes. Overall it is actually a drought...ish environment - y'know w/ no potable water falling from the sky or in any of the big beautiful lakes? It's really about the lakes and rivers being wasted as well as the possible hassle *mid-game* when we're crafting and cooking a lot. Also, we all have our opinions about game changes and this time around I think it's a ridiculous one. *shrug* That's why we have so many mod overhauls and I appreciate how much the devs work w/ modders - love it when they hire 'em. I love having bases near a lake but there (personally) seems less reason to do so now. Ah well, loving so much else of the update - cannot believe the POIs I came across in the wilderness. Just gorgeous and the zeds seem tougher. S thhe water thing isn't so much a turd in the punchbowl as...mm a dog's chew toy? Could be worse. πŸ˜ƒ
  16. I'm loving that RWG is so quick now and that there are POIs for those long roads but yeah, it seems to be struggling a little bit. I managed to make a map that is like 60% pine and 40% desert but 30% was supposed to be snow and wasteland. I do love that the seed is OhTheHorrorOfIt, lol. It's just for bumbling around and relearning vanilla and seeing what 21 is about so it's OK but yeesh, what happened to the 30% of Not pine/desert? (I guess that I forgot to tweak lakes in rwgmixer but not sure.)
  17. Well, the game is kinda like his "kid" and I'd really expect him to defend their game/business decisions. Still, I doubt that *anyone* can say if there's a minority or majority opinion about the recent changes because it hasn't been measured. A lot of folks (esp kids) just equate their opinion w/ the majority opinion but I don't think we'll get a sense of how folks feel for awhile - or maybe ever. There were a lot of streamers w/ a LOT followers i.e. potentially many more people that are aware much less use this forum or Steam's, etc who thought these changes were bad months ago. That actually got to be a bit much, like way too negative past a certain point. I've come to think of Rick and Joel and the ultimate backseat gamers i.e. they want us to play their way? I've folks known folks like that, lol. At the same time I **really** appreciate how TFP works w/ the modding community so that if we don't like the vanilla base game we can play a different version. Darkness Falls seems to be a haven for folks who preferred 16 and there are so many other great overhauls.
  18. Oh, the logic... So you're saying that all survival games don't use water containers? Wow, I rlly didn't know that - no idea that dew collectors and disappearing containers were standard for survival games. Thanks for that protip. πŸ˜† JFC Srsly, this one didn't have one until now. *shrug* Note that it's a hybrid game, not a full survival game but it's mostly supposed to be about fighting zombies and not be a drought simulator ffs. Being a survival game also doesn't equate to making a sudden and drastic change in how folks have been getting water and that change making all the pretty lakes and rivers more useless than they were. That's calleds dev not having a clear idea I think they're fantastic scenery but we can't fish, can't boat, and now zeds can spawn there. There's water everywhere but we have to set up big blue water farms if we want the teas, food, glue etc midgame (multiplayer anyway which is what I mostly play) - yeah there'll be enough water but besides the unwanted water farm the change seems very poorly thought out. That's why we have mods though. πŸ˜ƒ
  19. WaywardEko, Guns Nerds & Steel (Temreki), Glock9, Saven's World, and Khaine to name some off the top of my head have been fantastic (they sure AF don't play poorly and know the game inside and out) *and* they showed up in each others' games which is cool imo. Only the second update I've been through and I wish I knew who to watch last time, lol.
  20. Yeah, that's how I got mine - but I'm not trying, damn it! I'm not like that. πŸ˜‚ I felt bad one time when we going across the desert on our motorcycles and I'm chatting away when an NPC *leaps* into my path. Man she went flying. SMH
  21. Oh. I came to appreciate the tree stumps. Wasn't pleased at first 'cause I was finding polymers and nothing but they can be a great source for turrets early game! It makes sense to me that folks would stash stuff in stumps. πŸ˜ƒ The nests are a bit OP maybe: 30 feathers isn't rare but there are also extra eggs so it's no big deal. We have contests to see who can reach 500 feathers first and love the extra eggs - I figure these chickens are mutants that lay eggs and molt like no one's business.
  22. I was surprised to see Hugh's place on the Dev stream because there are so many ties to our world/time. Like, why was *any* contemporary real life tank chosen from stock images. Y'know, might be cooler if it was an "apocalypse tank" - something that looks like the rest of the 7 Days to Die world instead of just rolling off the assembly line. I've only played a few years and don't know if there's any backstory I haven't heard of but it's a trip finding out that Hugh was a sergeant in 2011. I dunno, I just figured that he was someone who became who he was in the 7 Days world, not the one we live in. Ah well, if that's backstory, I guess he could have captured that T-72 somewhere (pretty common tank), lol.
  23. There are plenty of maps large enough in RWG especially if you tweak the rwgmixer file to allow more. Not everyone plays the same and some get crazy ideas about island bases? Or maybe they want to go across the a lake as opposed to all the way around it? SMH
