  1. I never attacked you, and I never stated that you suggested all melee weapons should be removed. What I been arguing against was your belief that: Melee weapons were useless at any difficulty higher than adventurer, that the perks for melee weapons are useless, and that melee weapons and bows are worthless after the first week of gameplay. Remember when you posted " Deep Cuts Is someone really fighting with a bone knife instead of a club? or with a hunting knife instead of a grenade launcher?" I replied "Yes, I do fight with a bone knife at the beginning until I can get my hands on a higher quality knife. Yes, I do perk into Deep Cuts. Combine with Flurry of blows and parkour, I can handle anything outside of a 64 Z bloodmoon horde" And what exactly was your response? "I repeat, you can tell any stories from the Adventurer difficulty level, this will in no way change the fact that these perks are worthless" Which I found interesting since I been playing Survivalist difficulty for some time now. Who exactly is attacking whom? The person who stated that they can play with other melee weapons than just the club and using those perks to their advantage, or the person that just assumes that the author is only playing at the lowest difficulty so their opinion doesn't count. So please stop acting like you're a victim. I was never attacking you, just arguing against your broad comments that melee weapons and the perks for them are useless. Do you ever say that when you are playing? Jab Jab Throw Smash? 😆
  2. Real players are anyone that plays the game and has fun doing so. It doesn’t matter if they play at the easiest settings or turn all the settings up to the max. It doesn’t matter if they build a huge, complex base or take over a POI to defend themselves against the hordes. It doesn’t matter if they go in guns blazing all the time, or use melee weapons a majority of the time. It doesn’t matter if they spread their perks across multiple trees or specialize in one or two. Real players are players that play the game; it is not defined by your playstyle.
  3. It's obvious that you are trolling me. If you been paying any attention to my posts, I have clearly stated that I play survivalist which is the second highest difficulty level in the game. Throw in increasing the speed of daytime zombies above their default, maxing out zombies in BM hordes, and lowering loot levels, I am clearly not paying this game at lower difficulty levels. But hey, believe whatever you want to believe to justify your opinion; just don't expect others to believe the same as you.
  4. Again, this is simply based on your playstyle. For those that don't abuse the death exploit or use settings where loot is a rarity, these perks are very useful. Yes, I do fight with a bone knife at the beginning until I can get my hands on a higher quality knife. Yes, I do perk into Deep Cuts. Combine with Flurry of blows and parkour, I can handle anything outside of a 64 Z bloodmoon horde Late game I am still using either a compound bow or crossbow with steel arrows / bolts. With perks in both archery and Hidden strike, I can do a ton of damage to a sleeper every time I come across one. And yes, stealth still works in quests and POI for the majority of the time. (there will be cases where stealth won't work). The other times I trigger and then retreat to see if I can get the Z's to get bored trying to find me. My last playthrough I ended at Day 123. I was still using the steel club.
  5. Fast travel is really only necessary for games that only have walking / running to your next location as your only options (i.e. Fallout 3 / Fallout 4 - though 4 you can get smoke grenades and align yourself with the BoS to travel via flight between locations). 7D2D has vehicles that allow you to travel between locations. Since the game provides multiple modes of transport, fast travel is not necessary
  6. I think Meganoth stated it well. Just because you think a perk is useless doesn't mean it is useless overall. I play Survivalist (2nd highest level) and I use melee until the end. Since I use melee, I spec' into the weapon I am using (clubs, sledges, knives) so that I can still use them at the end. Never once thought that putting points in those perks was a waste. I do take guns with me, but I use those as a last option if I am getting overwhelmed. I want to save my ammo for BM night as I typically have a lot of turrets to restock and need to have a good supply on me since I play with max zombies (64).
  7. I was just going to ask that myself. Reward doesn't always have to be "epic" loot. The joy of surviving a more difficult encounter is enough to satisfy going into a more difficult area
  8. I voted Don't care but my bar is very low. I am currently playing Grim Nights so you can see how much graphics affect my gameplay 😉
  9. This fan says differently. Keep it up TFP, really have enjoyed the ride that is 7D2D. Most played game ever according to my Steam hours. From my perspective, you are doing something right 😉
  10. What are you going to do when it is finished? Play twice and move on? Sounds like the issue is you, not how long since the last major update of a game in development.
  11. I love how Roland is right now giving everyone flowers @MechanicalLens I saw what you did there. If there ever was a need, now is the time for the poop icon onto your flowers 😁
  12. You do realize that every time you start a quest, a magical, invisible gnome comes to the location and cleans up the landscaping around the POI. You already have a visible marker in place to tell you where you should stay if you don't want to fail the quest. Inside the nice cleaned up area that the gnome took care of before you went inside, you are good. Step outside that area and be prepared to fail your quest.
  13. Court room with supporting rooms (clerks, etc) Licensing offices (inspectors, etc) City utility offices, etc Public meeting spaces Voting clerk Offices, etc Mayor's office with supporting staff Not sure if you already thought of these
  14. @Roland Roland might be best to answer your question as he has talked about this is the past. I flagged him so hopefully he sees this topic (if he hasn't already seen it).
  15. He didn’t say they had weight, he said that if they did have weight, the system couldn’t handle it sice it would treat each bullet (and bottle cap) as one unit and would affect performance
  16. Yeah I just recently started making ammo in the chemistry table (to refill my SMG turrets), but I haven't significantly gone through the brass shells in my storage to make a dent (I have 10s of thousands of shells). Buying from the traders and loot seems to keep my stock for the most part. I do not scrap out any brass in the field (to not lose that 25%) but that was a habit I got from earlier Alpha's which I question if it is even necessary anymore.
  17. Honesty, I been liking the path they have gone since Alpha 15. Are there things I wished they done differently? Sure, but it is their game and their company, so they are making the game they want to. If I don’t enjoy it, I don’t play it. Pretty simple really, no need to complain about the changes. Also, show some respect to the devs. They are working hard to get this game to gold based on the roadmap provided to them. Not saying bugs don’t happen, but they are working hard to fix things and improve things, even if it is not the path you desire.
  18. Glad I limited my budget to the previous generation graphics cards and didn't even try to get the 3000 series. My new system has a 2080 TI card in it and doing very good right now (everything set to max on my games). Co-worker of mine was able to get the 3080 card through Best Buy...though he got it through a Special deal which required him to first purchase an UPS.
  19. When you posted this, I had a guilty laugh 😆. Not that I do spreadsheet leveling-up, just that in several long play games, I have used Excel spreadsheets to track things, like when I use the Sim Settlements mod and use a spreadsheet to track my Empire. 🤔
  20. I mean, it is kind of silly to complain about the system for going over the limit when you can have every slot filled with 6000 small rocks up to the point you become encumbered. There are a lot of different elements to the game that this might be the best solution for it.
  21. Did(I subscribed to his channel). He also maxed out at the very beginning by leveling himself up through the console commands. That is an artificial advancement which is different than playing so long you earned enough XP to max out everything.
  22. Haven't played either of those games (yet). Is it similar to Fallout or The Infected where items have weight and you have a weight limit? The Infected goes a bit further and has a size restriction also tied to your backpack.
  23. I am confused. Are you saying that the game shouldn't get harder as you survive in the game? So if I just hunt animals and search bird nests all the time for a straight month (and basically not loot any POIs but survive by finding food), the game should never advance in difficulty because I have not advanced my character? With the game stage tied to days survived and your level, it is basically constantly challenging you to improve your character as the AI manager is going to throw tougher enemies at you. It's this micromanagement of your character that makes the choices you make more meaningful and can lead to issues if you choose poorly. Do you spend that perk point into a support skill to help with surviving or more into a combat related perk for attacking / defense against the zombies? Also, have you tried surviving in the wasteland biome with harder difficulty settings as a new player? That is a current example of the game scaling up the difficulty based on the player's choice.
