  1. Yer good. thanks for the input. Lolz. They dropped all covid testing here as of yesterday. I'll still wear a mask.
  2. Yeah, I've been remiss on this thread. I've not re-tested anything. What i desire is the door to open for me, me only. Yes, trip wires and the plates do work, but for the enemy also. Guess I wasn't clear enough with my intent. We'll progress. Or we'll continue to put our vehicle in our pocket as we ascend the ladder.
  3. Yep Roland. No where in the game description did I see trhe word 'perfect'. I've blasted my negativity too. But after more than 11k of game hours I haven't tired of the thing yet. And the next iteration will probably give cause to me complaining again. But I'll be back. Hope you'll still be here with us.
  4. Thanks. Its the second time I've posted my thoughts on the matter, but I've not tested anything as of late. I'll update my findings (perhaps with bird nest residue on my face) in a few days. But what I'm really after: Open the door for me only. Whilst I am in the driver seat. I haven' figured that scenario out
  5. Sometimes I do, sometimes I just want to get the quest over with. Now, in a modded world and I don't have a clue about the layout of the poi, I'll run it first then hit the dancing yellow exclamation. Once again, somebody wants to control how I should play my game. Grrr. Stick to election rigging. 'Cause I'm gonna do it how I want.
  6. Holy frap man @Cr0wst0rm. We're not into your super elite programming lingo. Bring it down to a plebian level so we can half-way grasp what you're trying to convey. I've constructuted large machines that delivered the existing product at a much faster rate. But everyone involved in the project could at least understand in plain English what was going on within the internals. Clever you are. Tell us how clever and likeable. I'll start my laugh now. I don't agree with having to rebuild a poi for further quests...isn't that done when we accept the next quest at this location? Not like I hang around in the game to complete T5 quests any way. As of A20, done some, then probably done them all. Start over.
  7. Heh. Was in a 30 year marriage where daily I was deciphering hick-speak. Can lead a horticluture but ya can't make em think. I'd prefer a dane jar meater anyday. ☺️
  8. lolz. Not every danger is gonna anounce itself before inflicting damage on your poorly defended character. Pigs and dogs will rip you a new one very quickly and with little warning. It's not dumb, its how it works. (insert Roland knuckle rub here) πŸ™‚
  9. Welcome to the game Mr TimmE. Do some hunting of this game's available mods. Soon you can have more feathers, meat and eggs than you can consume! Then later you'll learn that eggs won't be your biggest obstacle to overcome in the wasteland. Have fun.
  10. I kinda gave up on the wiring logic when I could not drive my vehicle near the electrified garage door and the dang cameras/ switch plates would not recognize me whilst I was in the drivers seat. Having to get out of the car, well I could just open the door myself then. Resource-wise its a lot cheaper. Goofy, ya think? Open the pod bay door. Its me, Mel. I can't do that, because I don't know who you are. I wanna reprogram yer butt, because you DO know who I am. Sorry Mel, I don't have the logic to let you in. Primitive. It's not 2001 anymore.
  11. I just want to level up enough so that I can reload quicker, and inflict more firearm damage per level. Craft better bullets too. The gun animations and 'boom' won't keep me alive. The 'boom' is what will bring the other idle zeds to the party. Accuracy when aiming and firing effective ammo are important to me. The 'oh, that's not how it really looks/works' mantra has its place, but not at my zombie funeral as my flesh is torn from my cadaver by some 'oh, this is how it looks' smiling zeds. OK. Maybe your interpretation has merit, but it would not (apart from a vestige of immersion) affect how I defend myself in the apocalypse. Boom. Boom. Out go the lights.
  12. Hmm. An upgrade of the stealth meter/now to become a danger meter? I'd prefer a jar of Fluff @ss to distract the zeds. Dang, the whole game is based on measuring threats. But ya did snag me, Meg.
  13. I agree, Sham could do more at meal time. Since we do not have wheat in the game, gluten (maybe from corn) might be a problem for some. I eat it all, as long as I don't get dysentary πŸ˜‹ Nice. I mean, when the Kraken is dressed and not running around in its undies. The game dev's are still scrambling for their Sunday best attire. The wardrobes are there, the tailors are running behind schedule. A stitch in time...
  14. Hunkay. Never had a jar of the stuff in my pantry. But I'll throw out a SWAG. Can soon craft a sweet, animal fat-filled confection. Sweetener? Maybe honey or the extract of super corn? Why? Maybe its a boost to me, and/or I can dollop some on the roadway to attract some zeds who will stupidly and ravenously lap it up whilst I take them out with some ranged weapon?
  15. Hold on to your butts. Roland has opened a jar of fluff! πŸ˜‹ Would be nice to see another of his clue puzzlles though. They're kinda fun really. Anything new you can tease us with? Since LLoyd Christmas is out on his minibike running down Rudolphs, maybe we can spend some time trying to decipher what Santa Joel has in store for us. Maybe?
  16. I like the desert biome. When bad weather sets in, I am always reminded of Annies Song by John Denver. "Like a storm in the desert..." Might be an earworm for some, to me its just a pleasant memory. Anything in the game that awakens your past?
  17. Lol. Too often during gameplay, my internet drops out. But I won't notice any loss in FPS or anything. Only by using F1 will I see the errors in console (as mentioned above). Sure, if in a MP setting I'd know soon enough, but I usually play SP. As of late, I have not been stopped from starting a game session because EPIC couldn't get its data collection from me. But it's happened. Lack of EPIC connectivity should not inhibit my ability to startup my game. That is a flaw imo, not a feature. Wondering outloud: Is EOS data gathering something TFP pays for? Or does EPIC pay TFP for the ability to monitor our game? Surely there's $ in there for someone. Just sayin'
  18. After crafting my initial stone axe, I craft a spear. It keeps distance between me and the relatively 'soft' early game zeds. Soft or not, they can still infect me, and it will be awhile before I can gather any honey. Great for taking out a chicken or an unlucky rabbit too. I like your block idea. And I'm looking forward to the lunge/thrust mechanics promised for A21. Maybe it will morph into what you describe. Indeed, we can dream.
  19. Evel Knieval wasn't consulted on minibikes, and we all paid for that oversight. As a totally off topic aside, my brother appears twice in Evel's movie starring George Hamilton (1971). πŸ™‚
  20. Perhaps they didn't share your sense of humor? I dunno. One person's joke is sometimes taken as another person's insult. And then we get an unintended flare-up. Maybe they've had a bad day, or that last sip of gin and tonic was the trigger? Time for popcorn in that case, assuming there's a response.
  21. Hmm. Yeah, I picked up on your error. Becuse it is a forum. We probably are more allies than adversaries. I can read, even with one eye (camping incident in Appalachia). I can't always grip the nuance of the intended words. Forgive me. Lets play together sometime.
  22. No. @Pernicious mentioned it. Not directed at you, just a combined statement. All is good
  23. And this is one of the stark differences between a nurturing parent and a determined tyrant. No zed as yet has wielded a shotgun against me, but that could change I suppose. Don't think "wooaaaw" would be my exclamation though. This game is not the best tool to teach one's offspring about life in the urban/suburban jungle imo. Actually don't know of a game that is appropriate. But it does show that planning and knowledge gained through survivable misfortune are vital. I taught my offspring how to shelter, make fire and do well in making money. And it didn't require a video game. 😎
  24. Hunkay. You're being somewhat ridiculed my man. Step away from it all. Your point is well taken by me. May I suggest you join us in another conversation/topic? We can't fight memes very well. I hope you have enjoyed the game thus far, and that you will give A21 a try. Only a suggestion on my part. I do think we could have fun discussing other aspects of the game. But memes? Too late, they're entrenched.
  25. I can't comment on Dying Light. Don't have it. I've tried to get others to join me in 7d2d, they say 'graphics aren't good enough'. Hells bells. What about the rest of the game features? Silence. Ok then. My things: 1) No two play throughs are the same, thanks (or curses) to the RNG 2) I can steer my game strengths to how I wish to play in my most effective way 3) I can build whatever the heck I want, breaking anything I want and 4) If I don't like what vanilla offers, I can easily plug in some mods. Oh, the combat? If I am fighting with at least 1% health remaining after it all, then I consider myself good and lucky. And then it's time to change armor/weapons and/or tactics. Enhanced graphis are nice, but death is still essentially a black screen. I do not even consider graphics quality when my butt is on the line when facing some late-game adversary. And maybe this fifth point: It's hella fun for me.
