  1. Update: I have no idea what fixed it, but I just tried to login to a MP game server and it worked! The server had EAC enabled and no password required, and it let me join. I messed around with some things last night and the last thing I remember doing was reverting back to the original platform.cfg file by validating my game files in Steam and it replaced one file, likely the platform.cfg file because I just checked it and it has the default settings again. Who knows, maybe the EOS servers were just having issues yesterday and are fine today.
  2. I have no security software blocking access to the client and save folders. I can ping those Google DNS ip's, but when trying to use them in my internet options, they failed to validate. This is of no consequence because I distrust and hate google anyway, so I would not have used their DNS even if it was the only working solution to get this game working again. I tried a solution I found elsewhere which involves editing platform.cfg to remove anything other than Steam. This allows me to see a server list now, but I can't join servers running EAC, and I can't join other non-EAC servers because it throws an error due to the changes I made to platform.cfg. The game used to work just fine, I could play online. Now the devs throw in all this crossplatform and Epic bs and it's all broken now. 10 years of them fixing things that aren't broken and breaking lots of things in the process.
  3. Those DNS settings are invalid and do not validate upon changing them to those values. I reverted to Cloudflare DNS settings (1.1.1.1, etc...) I have tried adding exceptions in my firewall for all the different 7d2d launchers, and tried disabling my firewall entirely, nothing works.
  4. Did anyone ever find a fix for this issue? I've tried everything including completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I've tried adding exceptions for everything in firewall, disabling firewall, etc.... Why did you break my game so that I can no longer play it online like I want to? The only option it gives me is to play offline. Log file shows successful EOS handshake but then unable to connect to it. Mono path[0] = 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/7Day - Pastebin.com
  5. I've done all I'm willing to do for no compensation. I'll let you all who get paid to work on this game take it further if you want to.
  6. Went to a Tier 2 Clear quest at Bell Lake. The quest marker was visible on my compass but did not appear in the area of grass that it should have. From several meters away, you would see a bouncing quest marker that looked like it was underground, but once you got close it would disappear. Moving around and looking at the "Distance to the marker", the closest I could get was 6.2 meters. I finally decided to just try digging down at that point, and sure enough, I discovered the quest marker 5m below ground. When I clicked it, I teleported to ground level, the hole I just dug was no longer there, and no zombies spawned at all, so I had to quit the quest.
  7. Ok so I must have remembered this mechanic wrong, I could have sworn new traders would be higher tiers, but I guess not. I did go back to my first trader just now and found that they have increased to a higher tier the next day, but I swear the last time I checked existing traders the next day, they were still the same tier, so I stopped checking and just assumed all previous traders would never offer better quests. Thanks for the correction. I'm glad I can now level up to higher tier questing, but it would make more sense if new trade routes and new traders were higher tiered than the previous trader. Maybe they'll change that in the future or explain it better in the game. Maybe add some dialog like "Check back tomorrow for some even tougher jobs!". Thanks!
  8. In previous Alphas, quest tier progression was logical and worked. You did X number of Tier 1 quests from one trader, then that trader would give you a "Special" quest to establish a trade route, where you would find a new trader that would offer Tier 2 quests. This continued up to Tier 5 or whatever and made sense. Now, in A21 I find this system completely broken after a few playthroughs. Sometimes you go from Tier 1 to a Tier 2 trader, etc... but you may go from a Tier 3 trader back to Tier 1 instead of to Tier 4. Or even more common is just getting a string of Tier 1 traders in a row. It is absolutely killing my desire to explore this new Alpha, not having a logical and predictable questing progression. I've been wanting to to see what the game has to offer for top tier questing and POI's, but it's too broken to even let me try it out at this point. So fix this, or I might just lose interest and skip a couple Alphas like I did over the last couple years. New content is great, but it's worthless if we can't even experience it because your progression systems are broken. That said, there's a lot I really like about this game after being away from it for a couple years. Please fix this so I can give it a fair shot and give it the praise it would deserve if it were a little more functional.
  9. Line 5140 of entityclasses.xml reads as <property name="MoveSpeedAggro" value="2.1, 2.1"/> <!-- Used when player in vehicle --> Just change "2.1, 2.1" to "1, 1" Then do the same on Line 5176 for the Radiated Vulture. <property name="MoveSpeedAggro" value="1.5, 1.5"/>
  10. Seriously? When did it go from 3 cloth fragments to 50, who lost their job for changing it so drastically, and who lost their job because they couldn't figure out how to change it back to a reasonable number?
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. I've never done any xpath modding, only editing xml's. But I searched for that "AddProgressionLevel" in my config files and found a bunch of them in items.xml. There were like 23 different perk magazines coded here and they use the following code. <triggered_effect trigger="onSelfPrimaryActionEnd" action="AddProgressionLevel" progression_name="craftingFood" level="1"/> I changed them all to "level="2"/>" and that had the intended effect, doubling the points you get for reading each magazine.
  12. Hey guys, I used to mod this game heavily in the xml's to suit my tastes but haven't played for a couple years and have just come back to try the new Alpha. I'm liking it so far, but I personally think the progression by reading books is way too slow, so I looked through the xml's to try and find a way to double this progression rate by giving perk books 2 points per read instead of 1. I've found some values in progression.xml that may or may not affect this, but I'm being a bit lazy and just asking the community to save myself some time. So if I wanted each book I read to increase my Perk/Skill Level by 2 instead of 1, what value should I change? Thanks in advance.
  13. Dammit, I forgot how clever and crafty he is. I've got a truckload of coal already saved up from a lifetime of being an @%$#. Maybe we could be business partners?
  14. You heard it here first! Water pots 12/25/23 or earlier! Thanks for the info leak, Roland.
  15. So Madmole goes from being very active on the forums to absolutely not even visiting here since July 2nd, and there's no explanation? I'm glad to hear that at least it appears he's still alive and hopefully in good health, but nobody has a clue why he just stopped visiting his own site over 3 months ago?
