@Roland Why though? It´s good as it is. It´s minimalistic, it´s well organized and we have everything we need with one look. This is something that will only confuse and maybe even outrage their playerbase. Let´s be real, there won´t be a ton of sales anymore after going gold. I mean the size of the dangermeter or even it´s pure existence was enough to make some people mad. I still don´t know why this is needed though. Game went nearly 10 years without it and i never saw anyone complaining that they didn´t know what to expect in a POI.

LBD in this game was horribly done. Crafting a ton of stone axes while running around the campfire the whole night was the meta. Or sitting in the forge menu watching arrowheads beeing made. For the future updates i really hope they focus on getting the content that is missing done and don´t fiddle around with unecessary things that are fine as they are right now, like the UI. Leave the UI alone and do the content please.

A lot of people also don´t want to use forums anymore. Heck some younger ones propably never used one. Discord it is nowadays. A lot of indie games only have discord instead of a forum these days. Even gearbox shut down their forum and switched to discord. People only use steam forums for 7 days because there is no discord. Look at every game that has a discord, their steam forums are dead compared to their discord. I hate that personally tbh. Discord is just not structured well enough to have a whole forum for a game. Searching for something is a pain.

Can we finally have a toggle sprint option please. We have toggle aim now. I really don´t see why we can´t have toggle sprint aswell. Same as with the aim it shouldn´t be default ofc. Can´t see any argument that wouldn´t also be true for the toggle aim option, that would speak against a toggle sprint option. It really is a problem on longer drives and flights and with T5 POI´s beeing super rare and big maps you really can´t avoid those long travels. And no, a 3rd party isn´t a viable option.

I simply don´t use them. I don´t know why you would need a button for that tbh. Bandits on /off should be a thing. I fear their AI isn´t gonna be the greatest and i rather have 4x spawn of zombies and no bandits to make the game harder than stupid AI bandits.

VR is on their kickstarter list. I am not sure, but i don´t recall that they ditched it. That´s something for the very end of development though.

I mean you literally said "I am an Intel guy since Core2duo" Anyways, if the pcie slots are the deceiding part, it doesn´t matter anyways if only intel has Mobos that fit you. If you go for air cooling i would go Noctua. They usually are top performers for cooling, silent and you get mounting kits for free if you change your CPU platform. No matter if 2 or 10 years later. If looks matter you gotta pay extra for the black one though. AIO´s usually don´t fail very often, but you won´t get better cooling with them anyways unless you go with a 360 or 420mm radiator. For significant better temperatures you would have to go custom water cooling. Wich is a whole new level. I wouldn´t ever do that unless i can easily rebuy any part i might mess up with my first attempt at custom water cooling. Also it is a lot more expensive. And needs maintenance. With all those videos like the one you posted, you can get a bit of a wrong picture of what those coolers are capable off. They force artifical workloads on the CPU that you will never have using your PC normally. I assume you don´t rely only on that video, but posted it as an example. A good airflow case is a must these days, propably the factor that matters most for cooling i would say. Gamers Nexus on YT has really good indepth case reviews.

@bobrpggamer You should never be a "brand"guy when it comes to hardware. Simply not worth it. I had several combinations of Intel and AMD CPU´s with Nvidia/Radeon/AMD GPU´s (Forgot what the brand was i had in the 90´s tough :D) switiching around over the last 30 years. And i never had any major issues. Why? Because i was never an early adopter and because i simply researched what is the best bang for the buck while beeing stable and bug free. Beeing a brand guy is just costing you extra money usually.

I don´t know anything about it in detail, but you can handcraft maps in 7 days to die. Like Cpt. Krunch maps for example. Question is if all the work that is propably needed is worth it.

SLI is clearly dead for gaming. None of the 40 Series cards from Nvidia has the NV-Link anymore. You literally can´t connect them anymore. If you want more than one GPU you gotta go A100, Quadro and such. But that does cost a ton.

Ahh yeah, i remember very well. Only knew that night time is bad. So i desperatly tried to build a simple hut before nightfall. As i had no clue how to play i ofc failed badly. I didn´t even think about the option to use a POI back then. So i restarted like 2 or 3 times, still couldn´t finish even a small base during day one, so i simply dug a small hole and sealed it with wood and hoped for the best not even knowing i could have been leveling my crafting skills all night long.

I have had sleepers waking up when i missed the shot with the bow/crossbow, not too often but it happened. Also this would need a major rework of the sleeper mechanic. If you are outside of their radius, you can let mines explode, use a grenade and they won´t wake up 10m away from you if you aren´t in their radius. But an arrow should wake them up? That would make the whole sleeper mechanic look even more riddiculous then now.

A Z790 Motherboard is only usefull if you are going to do overclocking. Wich you can´t with a non "K" CPU. Either get a 13700K or go for a cheaper motherboard if you don´t wanna overclock. I am guessing H670 would be enough for non overclocking but i am not fully up to date with 13th Gen yet, so research is needed if you deceide for another motherboard. 64GB or RAM is overkill for a gaming PC. Unless you gonna do some video editing aswell i think 32GB would be more than enough for quite a while. For the PSU i would suggest to take a look on seasonic focus. 12 years of warranty. Well known brand that basically never dissapointed afaik.

@Gamida If we were talking about anything else than sprint, simply rebinding the key would be the easy solution. Also putting this on Q means i can´t press sprint and left at the same time without an akward position of the finger. But as literally every game uses shift for that, it would be a real pain to retrain that every time i come back to the game and every time i switch to another game. And no, because of one game i don´t wanna have to rebind every other game. I really don´t see the big deal of adding this as an option. No need to make this a default.

@Riamus Auto run doesn´t mean unlimited stamina. You wil still have to manage that. Not getting a bicycle and having auto run wouldn´t change how fast you can move from A to B. For me it´s purely because having to press shift all the time is highly uncomfortable and even painfull at times when having to fly or drive a long distance.

Yes, that´s what i meant. It´s the W key. You walk with W it´s the default movement. And to my knowledge the same key can´t have two functions. Also having anything else than shift as run button get´s confusing as it is a standard for pretty much every game. It´s a pain in the ass to retrain your muscle memory for one single game. @bobrpggamer Yeah it´s mainly the gyro, but also the other vehicles, minibike beeing the worst of those as it is the slowest wich makes it easy to avoid obstacles so you don´t get a break from pressing shift.

Joining in on hordenight on a public server near to a hordebase. Yeah i could have looked at the timer. I forgot. Other than that, it was propably with KingGen maps where you had the option to get a spawnpoint on random roofs. There were some nasty roofs to spawn on. In SP Vanilla i can´t recally any tbh.

Walking key? What? You mean W? What? And yes we need this. Unless T5 POI´s will finally be more present and we don´t have to travel across the whole map if we want to do different types of T5´s. But even then it would be nice to have without having to rely on a 3rd party software. We all aren´t getting any younger and espceially this game has a high percentage of older players.

I am sorry, i have no experience in making mods myself, only using them. There is mods that already have coloured blocks. Try the mod section in this forum, maybe someone can help you with making your own coloured blocks. @meganoth a few not worn out crappy looking colours sure wouldn´t hurt. That would be a very welcome addition. People like to build. A lot. And even beeing in a apocalyptic scenario, there is absolutly no reason what so ever why we wouldn´t be able to make good looking colour when we can craft weapons and vehicles.

I remember someone saying no, because too many different textures in blocks would cause lag. Wich is a really farfetched excuse tbh. For most people 64 zombies cause huge lag and yet we can choose that option. Also mods. They can cause huge lag and some of them do. Yet we can mod the game. I´d rather believe the sxplanation that the Huelnik brothers love the old, washed out apocalypse loook so much they don´t want to change that. Wich still doesn´t explain why they wont allow us to mod the colours and make it hardcoded. There is still ways around this, you can mod in blocks with a fixed colour/texture, can´t be changed after placing them though.

I have tried all melee weapons for at least 50 hours each on survivalist difficulty. Spears aren´t any good compared to the others except the baton. I rather have a bone knife than an iron spear, the bleeding allows me to kill groups of Z´s faster than with a spear. Most OP melee is the club, especially if you use a knife to get bleeding on them before you use the club. That combo is really deadly. The really high droprate of the spearbooks is a bit strange tbh. Once i got all of them on day 2 and i think there was no A20 playtrough were it took longer than 4 or 5 days to get them. Maybe they wanted to promote the spear with increasing the droprate of the books. But i am eager to try the spear in A21 where the power attack isn´t throwing it anymore. With a bit of a buff for the damage that might be a game changer for the spear.

I remember forges and workbenches doing this on dedicated servers in A18 but not before, at least not for us. Didn´t happen again after A19 dropped. Not sure about crafting in the inventory, i usually don´t have anything in queue when leaving the game.

Yeah i know. Also Derelicts is looking very promising. And to top it off, Borderlands 3 is 20€ with all DLC´s right now. We couldn´t resist that one. It´s gonna be a busy gaming year.

The compopack has several really big malls.

It´s only a week until Sons of the forest releases, so i don´t mind that A21 still isn´t anywhere near releasing. No dev streams yet, so i guess it´s another 2 months at least.
