wyldwitchykat
I have an "Idiots 101" type question involving GitLab. A friend I play with is not very computer savvy so I put the modlets we use all together into a package and put it in a Gitlab repository. I added it to My Mods in the launcher using the http link that showed under cloning on gitlabs. The problem I'm having is that instead of it cloning the repository, when I look in the TempMods folder for that game copy rather than there being a clone of my "mod" from the repository all that is there is a single, manifest type file with the name of my mod. Now if i use the download link for a zip file, the mod installs properly. I'm sure I've screwed up something rather simple but just can't quite figure out what it is. sphereii
New Update: 2.0.74 - Manage Modlets screen updated to be faster and more reliable - Built-in SDX support. Add an SDX Modlet, and watch it compile automatically for you - New Menu Option: View -> Maximize Screen which will enable scrool bars - Steam Version working; Add and manage your modlets right in your steam folder This is, in my opinion, a big leap forward in modlet functionality. [ Manage Modlets ] I added a Manage Modlets button right on the Play button to allow people to see it more easily. This opens up a new window that displays information much faster, allows searches, disable and re-enables modlets, as well as download and delete them. [ Steam Version ] I've also re-enabled the Steam Version option, which lets you download mods directly to your steam folder. No extra copy needed. [ Built-in SDX ] This version also supports SDX builds on the fly. Any modlets that contain SDX scripts will automatically compile and apply to your game. Add and remove SDX scripts as you see fit. This is super experimental, but should be a lot of fun. EAC automatically disables for you. No need to use the SDX Launcher! [ Modlet Profiles ] For those modders who are familiar with the Modlet Profile links, I've added support for adding a Modlet Profile to the <Download> <Downloads> <Download>https://raw.githubusercontent.com/7D2DMods/Profiles/master/MyTestProfile.txt</Download> </Downloads> When you press the Pre-sync button, the mod launcher will download all the modlets in the chosen profile. If it's an SDX mod, it will also search for, and download, dependencies, as defined by the mod.xml. [ Scroll Bars ] For those who feel that size matters, I've added a new menu option under the View Menu to set the Mod Launcher to be Maximized, and enables scroll bars. This option is handy if the Mod Launcher is bigger than your current screen, and you can't reach the normal Maximize button.

sphereii
Hello, I was wondering if someone could explain what i am doing wrong that is giving me this "error this is not a XML file" every time i launch the mod launcher. this happens every time after a fresh install of the launcher too. I think this is a bug. Are you playing A16 mods or A17?

The Maximize option is for people running resolutions smaller than the default size of the mod launcher, so that the scroll bars will kick in and they can access everything. jwagne51
I think this is a bug. Are you playing A16 mods or A17? You probable missed my comment that is right before the one you are quoting; it has a cut down log file showing where I think the pop up originates from and is much longer so, I believe, it had to be approved. Yes I did, I'm sorry that I missed it. Do you have any anti-virus?

jwagne51
I use AVG, Malwarebytes, and Windows Firewall. When I looked at the log file I noticed that right before the error there was a spelling mistake in the log: INFO 1 _7D2DLauncher.frmMain - XML File is loaded. INFO 1 _7D2DLauncher.frmMain - Udating Remote Server list INFO 1 _7D2DLauncher.frmMain - Reading Remote Server: INFO 1 _7D2DLauncher.frmMain - Error: This is not an XML file. I don't now if the spelling mistake is important, but I have some experience with coding so I thought I'd point it out.

Thank you. The spelling error is unrelated to the bug. One of the configs is hosted a non-Github link, so it's throwing an error. I'm pushing 2.0.75 now to fix it. I do believe its unrelated to the lock up. Have you considered adding your mod folder to the whitelist of AVG? C:\7D2D by default. It could potentially be checking all the files, and causing an issue.
MysticSynn
I got the xml error last night as well, after updating. I hadn't had any trouble in the past with Malwarebytes and the launcher. I uninstalled the launcher, and reinstalled the original download for it and didn't get the xml error. So, there must be something in the update that's screwing stuff up. I'm using 17.1. jwagne51
It seems AVG needed updating so after restarting my computer to fully upgrade it I opened the Launcher and updated it and was able to successfully pre-sync Ravenhearst. Don't know if it was AVG being out of date or the Launcher but it's fixed for me so I'm happy.

The XML error was acknowledged, and patched with the latest release ( 2.0.75). The XML was also non-critical error, and only affected a single A16 mod. Any other issues you may have been experiencing was unrelated to it.

I am having some issues with mods I'm using, in general. Just started yesterday so figured it was related to the update. Could be the mods though. Thank you for offering to help but after updating the launcher and changing mods, it all worked without an issue! =) I don't know why I was using an older version of Taza's Grave but all's good now. lol
