sphereii
Hello Sphere I'm looking for some help to have the pack of mods from my server available through the mod launcher. My questions are - I use some modlets that are not mine, can I list them together with my own mods in the pack? - There are a few changes that are outside the mods folder, how do I prepare those files so the mod launcher knows where to put and override certain stuff? thank you Sorry for the late response. I'd recommend including the modlets for a server. I do eventually want to add in a hook to the mod launcher where all you need to do is provide a list of modlets to install, but this probably wouldn't work for you and your server. While your server will push the XML changes, your clients could have new version of the modlets, courtesy of the auto-refresh of the modlets. This means your clients could have newer versions of the unity3d bundles than the server does. That in itself isn't a problem, but if they change names inside the bundles, remove, or add stuff, etc, it'll cause confusion and random errors. The Mod Launcher knows how to copy key folders over. Data, Mods, etc. Replicate the game structure in your zip file. If its not in the right places, the mod launcher will still try to manage by coping based on filename matches. So if you have windows.xml randomly place, it'll find that file, find a matching file in the game folder, and copy it over.

SMiThaYe
2.0.60 released to fix an issue where the mod launcher would throw an error if there was no Mods folder. Quick post to let you know it still occurs on 2.060.15086 with a fresh install. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could Dredd Mage
So, when I tried to update to 2.0.60 or 2.0.61, I got an error, and I get the same error now that I have uninstalled and am trying to reinstall the mod launcher. Gilthanaz
Hi sphereii! First of all, thanks for all your work and effort I'm having issues with the mod launcher, as I mentioned in the 4K HQ mod thread, where I also posted the log as you asked. However, I thought some additional background might help finding the issue: * A few months ago I was using your ModLauncher to play Starvation and it was working well. If I remember correctly it was named slightly different and the installer was also not the same you're using currently. * Now with A17 and wanting to use the 4K HQ mod, I installed the freshly pulled version * It starts up, and everything appears to go well up to the point where a copy of the game has been created to the specified target Folder for the modded 7D installations. * When I want to preload the Mod, in the best case "it does something" for about 0.2 seconds and thinks it is finished. * Selecting any of the Modlets and pressing "close + install" does not appear to do anything at all * I de-installed and re-installed and noted that all the settings are still there (e.g. state of the checkboxes regarding SSL, Direct Download, ...) * I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on an [email protected]/16GB RAM I hope you can help me to get the ModLauncher working again I'll gladly give you more log files or tr other things if you let me know Kind regards! mavericx
Hey Spereii, Thank you for making this launcher! Unfortunately I can't get it to work...lol I'm trying to us it to play the Ravenhurst mod. It seems to download everything ok, but when I run the game, it starts loading up 7d2d, then gives this error: "Could not fully initialize Steam. The Steam client is not running or no connection possible." I definitely have the steam client running. In addition, when I copied over the game files I had it login to steam to get a "fresh" copy, so I don't think it's a firewall issue, as it was able to connect to steam and download with no problems. I also put my antivirus in sleep mode while trying to run it. That didn't seem to help either. The mod launcher is installed on my c: drive, whereas my steam installation is installed on a different HD - e: drive. Don't know if it matters, but just trying to give any info I can. Also, I tried something you had mentioned in a previous post a long while back, where you said to try adding 7D2Dmodlauncher to steam as a "non-steam game" and then launch it through the steam interface. It adds it to my game list, but when I click play, it just gives me this error: "Failed to launch 7D2DmodLauncher" I would love any ideas and/or suggestions you have. Let me know if you need any additional info. Thanks Sphereii!
Exxodous
I installed the 2k overhaul using the mod launcher. Does that include the entire HDHQ mod list? Because if I try to add the particle effect modlet or one of the biome Redux modlets the launcher does not seem to put them in the mod folder. I could download and install them manually but don't want to break it before I start lol

When adding as a non-steam game, be sure to make sure you are pointing to this folder: C:\Program Files\SphereII Software\7D2D Mod Launcher Installer You may also try clicking on Run Game As Admin in the mod launcher - - - Updated - - - I installed the 2k overhaul using the mod launcher. Once installed, you will have to go to Add More Mods, and select the different modlets. They should then appear in your game.

Selected the all the modlets I wanted to install including the HDHQ Modlets I wanted and clicked on the install and close button. It installed the others (like Guppys vehicle overhaul) but not the HDHQ ones. Tried several times. Unless they don't nstall in the Modlet folder? HDHQ modlets download in a folder called "GitLabRepos" ( or something like that ). This downloads all of them, but will only copy over the ones you have selected. Can you look for a GitLabRepos? Do any other modlets install?
Exxodous
I do have other modlets installed that I chose from the list in the launcher. They all downloaded into the Mods folder except for the aforementioned HDHQ modlets I searched my entire PC for GitLabRepos and can't find a folder with that name. I also went through all game folders installed from the launcher with no luck finding the GitLab folder or the HDHQ modlets I tried to download. Exxodous
Seems like its having trouble downloading from gitlab. My Local path is: C:\7D2D\Alpha17\GitLabMods Can you post your Mod Launcher config? Try the download, then go to View -> Log Files, and click on Upload Log file. I finally found the folder by searching for GitLab and found the GitLabMods. So it is in there under my Dust2Death folder. I do not see the specific Modlets in there anywhere but maybe it is just formatted different?

I do not see the specific Modlets in there anywhere but maybe it is just formatted different? It should list all the modlets under that folder structure. If it's empty, then something stopped it from downloading from gitlab.

I'm not sure why of course lol Edited February 23, 2019 by Exxodous (see edit history)

I'm not sure why of course lol Unfortunately, the logs for the mod downloader aren't very good. I'll have to beef them up. The modlets for HDHQ are hosted on Gitlab, so it's just a clone of the entire repos, much like the main download. Can you delete that Gitlab folder, and try it again? mavericx
Hey Sphereii, Thanks for getting back to me on this. I tried RH 4k, as well as 2k, and both give the same error. I also tried the "darkness falls" mod, and am seeing the same problem. (though it looks like it's on gitlab as well?) Honestly, most of the mods in the list appear to be hosted on gitlab. I did see that Tazas Grave is hosted on github....trying it.....and....damn. Same issue.

Not having any luck getting the game to actually load my combination of modlets but that's another issue.... Conflicting mods? Glad the original problem is resolved. It must have had bad data in the gitlabs folder.
