Manual Installation

Only follow the below instructions if you are not running any other mods and are on Alpha 16.4 (b8) Stable.

  1. Download the zip file of your choice.
  2. Extract the "Data" folder to your 7 Days To Die installation directory "\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die" overwriting any files when asked.
  3. Extract the "7DaysToDie_Data" folder to your 7 Days To Die installation directory "\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die" overwriting any files when asked.
  4. Turn EAC off using the games launcher if you have not already done so.
  5. Enjoy the extra storage.

Dedicated Server Installation

Only follow the below instructions if you are not running any other mods and are on Alpha 16.4 (b8) Stable.

  1. Download the zip file of your choice.
  2. Extract the "Data" folder to your 7 Days to Die Dedicated Server installation directory "\steamapps\common\7 Days to Die Dedicated Server" overwriting any files when asked.
  3. Extract the "7DaysToDieServer_Data" folder to your 7 Days to Die Dedicated Server installation directory "\steamapps\common\7 Days to Die Dedicated Server" overwriting any files when asked.
  4. Then each pc that connects to the server will have to install the same version of the mod as was installed on the server.(this must be done on every client that connects to the server or it won't save the extra backpack slots when logging out for that client)
  5. Set EAC to false in the serverconfig.xml(each client must also turn EAC off using the games launcher)
  6. Enjoy the extra storage.

To Uninstall a Manual Installation

  1. Right click on 7 Days To Die in your steam library and select properties.
  2. Click on the Local Files tab.
  3. Now just select verify integrity of game files (This will return the game back to stock so any mods would need to be reinstalled)

Thank you times a million, I was looking thru the other threads trying to figure this out for an hour and trying to sift thru what worked for this current build was killing me.

Appreciate you sharing this.

Really useful, thank you so much!! My OCD tendencies *make me* tell you one tiny thing: I noticed that the xp bar filling overlaps the lower outline, easily corrected by making it 8 high instead of 10. I also like to customize the colors a bit, and couldn't find where the outline of the activated toolbar slots is controlled (currently green) - would you mind letting me know please?

The mod is awesome. I used sirillions mod before but will change to yours now. With your mod installed playing feels like I would still play vanilla. I like that very much.

Keep up the great work and thanks for doing this mod for us.

"will not work on a dedicated server"

My curiosity got the best of me and I tried it anyways because that's where I want to use it. It does work, BUT I had to use the .dll from another mod (stallionsden's backpack mod - 60 slot version, which means the 4:3 version of this mod) to get the server to launch at all. Both backpack and minibike upgrades work. Edit: Haven't tested storage boxes yet, forgot to check before I turned the server off and I don't care to replace the boxes if that's what is needed, I'm not struggling for space in them yet.

Not sure if it matters or not, but because the other mod requires the .dll to be installed in both places I do have this mod installed on my system and the server.

Excellent simple little mod that really adds to the experience, so glad I got it to work on my server.

It sounds like you need to turn EAC off using the game launcher.

How would you put it in a MP game, and if I would have to play in window mode and my friend in full screen there would be drama that I put the 4: 3 mod?

i have what is probably a stupid question. if i made the secure chests storage bigger using the loot xml does that save whats in it or does that portion need the assembly file as well. i have the backpack working for MP i was just wondering if the container would save on an mp as well.

Only the backpack needs the .dll file. The player built storage and the minibike storage only need xml edits to work.

And no such thing as a stupid question Lol

Items in the backpack vanished (last 3 rows only!) after relogin...

A16.1

Which mod version are you using?

Did the Assembly-CSharp.dll get copied over to the right place? This usually only happens if the Assembly-CSharp.dll I've included is not used.
