A16 Valmod Pack

I've recently started to try and use this mod pack the overhaul version. Followed the install instructions, but my toon is always overheating. And the temp readout next to the day and time is always at 70.

I don't actually touch any of the weather survival stuff. So welcome to the glory of early access in regards to your toon always overheating.

The temp next to the day - well Aultra already covered that.

Try disabling weather survival and re-enabling it to see if that kicks things back into place.

Open console with ~ key

enter:

weathersurvival off

then

weathersurvival on

You shouldn't need to do a full reinstall to get back vanilla files, for what its worth. My mod is purely xml driven. Verifying the file integrity in steam will get back the vanilla files. Its an insanely small download since the xml files are just text files.

There is one other thing you can do to check the weather stuff. I believe the command is weatherdebug or debugweather. It will tell you all sorts of things about how it is calculating the weather. For what it is worth, it does not appear you are overheating in the images you posted. Also, body temperature is slow to change to match the biome. It could take several minutes in the snow biomes before it adjusts down to what it should be.

I'd you would like someone to take a peak at it with you, send me a pm, and I would be willing to look at it with you tonight (central/us time)

When you un-install the game it leaves a folder in the registry , some have reported that when you un-install the game and the registry folder, then re-install the game everything reverts to the original settings.

Use the command "regedit" (no "marks) inside the Windows start bar, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps

Delete this folder , then re-install the game.

I had this issue a short while ago and thought it didn't work myself, after you turn off weathersurvival off and then turn it back on you won't see a change unless you go into a different biome.

Now Bartering is a skill - as we improve it how about the cost of the item going down to reflect the increased skill

I would love for your skill to influence cost. Sadly it just isn't possible atm. The amount of resources a recipe takes is static and not influenced by anything else. I can't make it scale to your level. Im hoping when NPCs are added with official npc vendors there will be a system in place to allow something like that, though.

Funny enough I just recently had this problem myself and had to delete the registry stuff inorder to have zombies spawn.

hey Valmar,

Would you be able to explain what "Bartering" does? What merchats is it referring about?

Voodoov summed it up accurately. The merchant it is referring to is the "Merchant Delivery Box" which you can craft in your inventory. It is a workstation where you can exchange casino coins for items such as food, ammo or weapons.

Good idea. I'll make a note of that. Loot may get a lot of lot in the next update too. I'm working on another mod project which has me doing a ton of balancing of the loot.xml so I imagine some of the things I do in it will find their way into Valmod. Thats why updates have been "slow" for me lately. Lol.

Another point on RNG - Scrap Cable - i have searched two whole cities and turned loads of cars into scrap and found no scrap cable at all. Is this also possible to buy via the merchant - either that or make it craftable. Need it for steel drawbridge.

Cables won't drop from cars. Try the ovens, fridges and computer consoles in the waterworks etc

I'll make a note. Not sure which to go with though. Might just let you craft it. You can craft everything else damn near so why not lol.

Missing recipes gained from Skills

I have looked through this thread and could not find an answer so forgive me if this has been answered.

We are using the Overhaul pack and some of the recipes gained from skills are not being granted.

Examples: I am currently rank 3 in Miner 69'er and I haven't unlocked Miner's TNT yet.

Rank 1 Knife Guys (I think that's the name) and it haven't unlock Machete or Combat Axe

Is there something I'm missing and are these recipes not granted at the first rank.

The UI doesn't show what level skills are unlocked at sadly.

Machete lvl 3

Miners TNT lvl 5

Request

Hey Valmer, I love you mod and I think you are doing a killer job with it. My brother and I play all the time. I have a simple request that may not be simple to accomplish but would be very useful. Could you create a way to craft either a bigger backpack or a secondary or tertiary backpack so that you have more room when you are out collecting stuff? Especially when you play with 200% loot ratio your bag gets filled up fast.

Hello Vyanant.

Increasing the backpack size with xml alone is possible. However any new slots I had will not retain their inventory if you relog. So, for example, if I added another inventory row to put stuff in and you log out with stuff in that row it will be wiped when you come back on. So its not practical.

There are SDX mods, from what I understand, that can achieve this but sadly its not currently possible in a practical way with XML.

Can't open workbench anymore

Hi Valmar and everyone, I encountered a big problem while i was opening the workbench where i crafted many things. I clicked on a stack of wood log spikes inside the WB when suddenly it closed with a Null Reference Exception as you can see in the img I attached. From this point on I can't open the WB (full of things...) without that error occurring... What can I do? Thanks for your help!!
