  1. 1. I'm inclined to agree - just tested and I can't seem to locate the pick up action. In A19 DF, the pick up action was a bit difficult to find - it seemed the sweet spot to aim the crosshairs at was tiny. I ended up just jumping in to the hole with it and jiggling around whilst looking down can get it eventually but that is not working in this version. 2. Some are a bit janky. Bow schematic is the one that seems to always show up for me. Only suggestion I can make is store the books before scrapping unneeded ones for skill notes, or just keep a note of the ones you read. Kind of related: the Forge Ahead book does not unlock the bellows as the description suggests. Nor is the book listed under the unlock options of the bellows crafting page.
  2. Just tested. 2min 20 seconds on the large map (12k). Disk utilisation was negligible. There's clearly a lot more going on that just loading assets; compiling all the xmls (vanilla, then compiling overrides by DF), uncompressing assets(?), but generally cpu and disk utilisation is minimal. One thing is for certain; it is a longer load time than vanilla - and that's to be expected. Whether there's any more optimisations TFP can do I don't know - certain aspects can't be multithreaded I'm sure. The prefab error I get is for remant_skyscraper_01, something to do with block 'bedrollArmyGreen' is unknown. Is that what you're seeing too? The number of times it appears would depend on how many instances are on the map.
  3. Yes: Perfectly normal. Even on an nvme. There's a lot more assets being loaded than vanilla.
  4. Is Eve supposed to have any quests? I found her via the Introducing Eve quest. I collected a reward from her and all I can say to her is "Nevermind".
  5. I'd be up for that. I always run with a 60 slot inventory mod but would happily trade that in for this.
  6. Absolutely. Clearly the only non-exploitative way is to stand in the middle of a large open area with no obstacles, naked, no weapons and fight off the horde with nothing more than a stiff upper lip and colourful language.
  7. Schrödinger's Beaker more like: is it intact or broken glass?
  8. Here: Lockable Inventory Slots. Just remember to set the amount of locked slots each time you start the game as there's no way to save that data in the savefile currently. I keep forgetting and my carefully curated top row gets mixed up with loot
  9. Don't forget you can uninstall mods any time and game settings that you change are highlighted yellow so you can always find the default value again. I'd also suggest that if you have a specific map you want to play in your main playthrough, do not use it whilst experimenting with settings and whilst looking for the perfect mod combo. You might become too familiar with it, removing the exploration aspect, so use another map for testing purposes. Have fun!
  10. I'd suggest turning ai block damage down if you want to avoid tower defence, bunker-style bases. In addition, or instead, you could turn off bloodmoon hordes and try a larger wandering horde mod, or something like Khaine's Wandering Horde Frequency mod, which is configurable. Wandering hordes don't specifically target the player, they wander near by, so if you're not paying attention you could still get a nasty surprise but the choice is yours whether you engage, assuming you notice them before they notice you One of my long running games, A19 so defunct now, was set up like this (without block damage reduction) and I enjoyed it a lot. The danger is still there but it doesn't feel quite so forced and 'scripted'.
  11. I wonder if you're hitting max alive zombies and therefore not having enough 'slots' left for a screamer to spawn in. Just a thought.
  12. So you come in to the forum, tell everyone you have no self-control, get told to buck your ideas up - then you attack a forum member and blame them for your in-game behaviour. You're a jam roll. Don't let the door hit you in the Khyber Pass on your way out.
  13. There's still a minimum level requirement. 25 if I recall correctly.
  14. It's bloody fine, leave it alone. You can just drag items out of your inventory with the mouse to drop them - no use/drop/eat button dramas. If matey boy continues to have problems:
  15. Shouldn't do. Just plant them on any dirt block. I've never seen a tree 'die'. If you wait for them to grow, harvest them with an axe, they will revert to a leafless/fruitless model but they will grow again in a few days.
  16. Thinking about this topic, I'd definitely prefer to die than deal with it coming out again... 😬
  17. Are you on 1 stick of ram then? If so, you're leaving performance on the table - I don't know to what extent this would cause 7D2D to cause higher cpu utilisation in single channel mode. I'd get your stick back from the server and buy a new stick (or kit) for the server itself if you can.
  18. Interesting. I find it's usually the inner plants that take longer - there is a random element to growth rate anyway. As for layout - it's your game just throwing it out there.
  19. That's... unusual? I break my garden up in to 5x5 plots with 1 rain catcher in the middle, so 24 usable plots. In a 10x10, that would be 96 usable plots. I recall Khaine saying that a rain catcher has a 4 block radius so you could do 9x9 with only 1 rain catcher...
  20. What's the cpu usage unpaused? A quick, probably very unscientific, test in a small city in a newish game was 32% unpaused, 27% paused - occlusion off. 45% unpaused, 27% paused - occlusion on. 4790K @4.4ghz all cores.
