  1. @Similar Titanium ore is marked as a bright blue square on the map, just like coal is a black square black for example. You could uncover some areas in the Wasteland and check the map for titanium ores after that. Gyrocopter is the most convenient way to uncover large areas of the map without having to fight zombies / demons. Titanium ores are kind of rare, though, so you might have to check a huge area to find an ore. But usually I end up with around 10 different titanium spots on the map. Uranium and plutonium are nearly impossible to find, at least for me. Have found a single plutonium ore once in my last playthrough, not a single one in my current playthrough yet and I have never found an uranium ore in any DF playthrough so far and I might have spent some real life hours flying the gyrocopter over the Wasteland to uncover as much area on the map as possible. If you ask me plutonium and uranium are far too scarce.
  2. You are asking your question in a forum where most people are hardcore fans of this game so there is only one answer here: buy the game. On a serious note, buy the game, it is worth every Cent. Maybe watch a few of the thousands of gameplay videos on YouTube first and buy it after that. TL;DR: Buy the game. One last note: If you buy the game, which you should, I'd recommend you to not watch and YT videos or read anything game related here to not spoil anything. Just buy the game (did I say that already?) and learn everything yourself from scratch. Most exciting and fun approach and I wish I could be you. If I was you I'd buy the game by the way.
  3. #1 The quests where you find Eve for the first time and "The Reward" can be accepted multiple times. In theory one could accept the "Finding Eve" quest 50 times and then get 50 rewards from her, which will be lots of ammo. It should not be possible to accept those quests more often than once, just like any other quests as well. #2 Why do most weapons and tools only give like 7 iron when you scrap them? 7 iron seems very little for scrapping a machete for example.
  4. I agree with Roland here. There will always be more loot containers. As you progress you will find more bookshelves. There will be more locked chests. There will be more wall & gun safes. Eventually there will be a crackAbook POI you could reset numerous times at the trader. Just loot them as they come! I recently watched a popular streamer not looting cars during the first few days because cars are valuable loot containers with higher gamestage. But there are hundreds or even thousands of cars on a map so why save for later? Doesn't "waiting" somehow rob fun and exciting moments of the early game?
  5. Guess I am late to the party but I have only just read madmole's post about change of skill / crafting tree. A few thoughts: - I count around 2000 different crafting levels which equal nearly 2000 magazines a player has to read to max out all those skills. Hope it won't be a reading simulator with magazines everywhere? - 1000+ hours in the game and I always end up with storage boxes full of parts I don't need since I hardly craft anything but rather find my stuff in loot containers. In my opinion no matter how the crafting system is designed, it will always be kind of irrelevant in huge parts if looting all the good stuff is so easy. And especially when finding a Q6 item makes crafting completely obsolete. Stuff should degrade with each repair, repairing should require parts and not just a single repair kit (way too easy) and with the new system it could be like "you can only repair a Q3 shotgun if you have at least level 50/100 for shotgun crafting". This way leveling up would actually be important. Right now I'd never craft a shotgun since I find them all over the places and therefore those shotgun magazines are worthless for me (and lots of other magazines equally). Connecting the ability to repair stuff with the crafting level would add importance to finding magazines.
  6. Thanks for the latest version with compo pack included. I'm pretty new to DF, only found out about it a few months ago due to a streamer on YouTube. For players with hundreds of hours in the vanilla game (or even more) DF brings some fresh air back into the game. Now, with new POIs thanks to compo pack, it is even better. Just played my first hours with the latest version. First time compo pack for me and I absolutely love it. Thanks a lot Khaine!
  7. If anything then topics like this are a compliment for TFP since their game works as intended. 7D2D is a survival game and finding food should be a slight struggle, especially for new players. To anyone saying "get good" or "the game is way too easy already": Seems like you forgot that you have once started as a beginner too. 7D2D was my first survival game but I had thousands of hours experience with Real Time Strategy or first person shooter games so pretty far away from being a complete noob all around. My first death in 7D2D was on day 1 because I stepped on a wooden spike in front of a POI which I didn't notice. Was wondering why my HP goes down until I died. And I also remember that finding food was a challenge (but I didn't starve). I dare to say that players like these are the vast majority and people here with thousands of hours of experience are just a side note. TL;DR: Be a bit more understanding with topics like this.
  8. They do. I can only make assumptions as for the "why" but I think that at night some extra zombies spawn and these are the ones that die in the morning as their only purpose was to increase the zombie count at night. Just a guess though.
  9. Actually I know not much about that. In god mode I went flying through the POI for a few ingame hours and searched in every corner. Impossible that I have missed a spawn point as I have been literally everywhere more than once. As a last attempt I destroyed the POI without success neither. Someone else reported the same bug in the same POI a few weeks ago in Darkness Falls forum as well.
  10. In my last DF playthrough I was looking for Plutonium and Uranium ores for ages. The only way I was able to eventually find a Plutonium ore was by flying with the Gyrocopter over the Wasteland, uncovering big areas of the map. I did that for a very long time and ended up with a single ore of Plutonium, however, I have not found Uranium yet. At least for my map (some pregen DF map) those ores seem to be very rare. Titanium ores on the other hand I have found like 20+.
  11. Same bug occurs with the huge villa (should be T4 I guess) that has a pool and sports court in the backyard and huge underground bunker area underneath with some mines inside the inner yard. Last point on the map does not lead to a zombie. I have basically completely destroyed the POI in god mode and with the dev gun but there was no zombie left. Could not finish the quest. Edit: Now for Higashi tower, I know I have finished a clear quest there successfully already in A20.
  12. Anybody knows whether there is a fix planned for zombies glitching through hatches when crawling? I use hatches for various things and it is SO annoying when zombies are glitching halfway through them, allowing them to hit me which should be impossible in that situation. Even worse with enemies that are always crawling like spider zombie, dogs etc.
  13. Awesome change! Finally you see big damage to a POI after 30+ zombies (random horde mod) tried to get to you on the roof somehow.
  14. Say you have freshly created the map with the name "NewWorldMap". Go to C:\Users\[your PC name]\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds\NewWorldMap Open this page: https://kui.github.io/7dtd-map/ Drag all files from your NewWorldMap folder and drop them on the website above. Your map will be shown there, completely with all POIs, traders, biomes etc.
  15. I can confirm that. Did the POI quest a few days ago and there was no remaining Z left. Even with godmode enabled and flying through the whole POI multiple times there was nothing. Also "killall" console command didn't help. Clearly a bugged quest / POI.
  16. Some questions again: 1) How do I stop Demon health regeneration? 2) Is there a way to get protection against fire somehow? Can't approach any Demons currently (lvl 118).
  17. I get a similar invisible debuff that drains HP from something different than fireballs. Not sure what exactly causes it but I think it happens to me when I get hit by a Night Stalker.
  18. This is my first DF playthrough and I am loving it. Day 17 and wanted to do the job "The Reward" from Eve. Went on a 5 km long ride just to find out I need those colored key cards for this job (I guess). So 5 km back to my base. I have a few blue and green ones. How do I know when I have enough key cards of all required colors to actually do the job completely? Are the key cards consumed after usage so that I need more than one of each color? Doing this on trial and error and therefore driving 10 km back and forth for nothing each time seems like a waste of time and bad idea. Maybe consider a hint in that direction for the quest description.
  19. Kuosimodo aka the Ghost of Navezgane 🥰 7D2D 🥰
  20. Maybe my last post wasn't clear. Look at that: Butchering tool schematic with the closed book as a symbol. I have read that schematic multiple times already but the symbol won't change to an open book. Got both point of butchering tool crafting: Got weapon crafting level 4 which is required for butchering tools crafting 2: Can both craft all kind of machetes as well as hunting knives: So why is the book shown as unread? What am I missing?
  21. Hello survivors, hello Khaine. Currently in quarantine I have finally found time to install Darkness Falls and start my first playthrough. It is safe to say that this is the best mod for 7D2D I have ever experienced so hats off to you, Khaine, and thanks for that. Amazing to see that you even still put work into development and further improvements. Felt like when I was new to 7D2D where I had to find out all kind of stuff and there is still a lot for me to explore in Darkness Falls. One thing is kind of weird to me, though. It took me a while to understand how books and recipes and skill trees etc. work. I think I understood it but there are books for crafting iron armor and for crafting crossbows. I have found (and read) them multiple times already but whenever I find them they are closed and therefore shown as "unread". I can't find a reason for that as I am able to craft those things. And second, there is a light blue book for learning seed recipes (and something else) which I have read like 10 times already but it doesn't seem to do anything. Moreover, I can read that book multiple times and it does not disappear. What is it good for? There is a similar one in red and for crafting ammo that I don't understand neither. Last but not least, is there a trick to hit night stalkers with melee weapons? Like 90 % of my swings go through it and miss. Hints are appreciated.
  22. As an experienced player, horde night certainly has lost its magic. So did the whole game. So does every game after hundreds of hours into it. No blame to 7D2D. Either accept it or try to get a bit of magic back with mods you don't know yet or move on to another game. As for your suggestions to change horde night, I don't think that is necessary as horde nights are perfectly fine for newer and more unexperienced players. I remember my first savegame with my brother-in-law via LAN. He had like three hours under his belt and therefore was the "experienced" one between the two of us. He always warned me about horde night (standard settings) being absolutely crazy. So we reinforced a house, layed down a few spike traps, loaded our guns and.... still both died multiple times to the first horde. TL;DR: New players don't just "simply put a box of cobblestone and easily survive horde nights". They don't know about that. They don't know about hatches and other sneaky stuff. They barricade themselves in their room, barricade windows and doors and wait until the horde breaks in. Then most likely they die.
  23. Big nope. As for performance issues, I agree with whatever has been said here. I know criticising TFP is not a good idea here but nontheless, if 20 of those walking pixels called Zs cause performance to go through the floor there is definitely something wrong with how the game mechanic works or uses hardware ressources. And if I am honest here, no matter how much I love this game, with A20 and skycraper / downtown performance they have completely messed up.
  24. Screamers are nice and I would never want to miss them 🙂 Never had 15+ spawning at once, though.
