  1. I would think the have around double what a zombie does if they lunge. So like 2 squares or so. Does anyone know if there is a hot key in dev mode to show hit boxes?
  2. Two hatches in a row with a block width gap between the uprights? Where you right up against the 2nd one, or were you backed up from it.
  3. All I am saying is until you have spent sweat and hundreds of hours of your life creating something, you have no idea how pretentious it is for someone to assume they deserve to make money from your work. I have been on the creative side where people have tried to monetize my work without consent. it's a very icky feeling.
  4. is it natively compatible. Or are you running paralells?
  5. People with this sentiment are typically not creators of any sort, or have had zero success making money with their creations.
  6. trader Jen has them fairly often. I have seen them at her shop after day 7
  7. I think it's puzzling that people have issue with this. I don't think you have a real sense of what you are asking for. You didn't create this game you are using to earn money. Why should any game company allow you to stream their product and not take a cut? To put this another way, this is similar to when a musician covers a song, and is expected to pay the original writer/author. but this goes a step further. you haven't created anything on your own. you are playing a game that doesn't require any more creative work to recreate it on your end. what you are asking for is the ability to sing a karaoke song of another artists and get paid for it and have issue with the artist asking for a cut. It should be the expectation that if you use someone else's intellectual property to earn money, that the owner of the property deserves a royalty.
  8. Repair or replace? two completely different ideas. Are you taking that broken alternator out and replacing it with a new one? that isn't happening in the apocalypse. you'd be rebuilding that alternator. HUGE difference. repairing is not the same as slapping some duct tape on it. That isn't a fix, that's a band aid. a repair should get the item to near new condition, and you can't do that by swapping out your broken part for a used one with some life left in it. Anyone can swap out some spark plugs, but do you know how to "repair" a broken one? you don't unless you understand how it's made.
  9. What they could do is tie being able to repair an item to being able to craft it at lvl 1. The way that Rust does repair is my fav. it makes perfect game sense. you can not repair something you don't know how to craft. how could you possibly know how to? this would still allow you to buy the item above your crafting skill, but you wouldn't be able to repair it yet. that to me feels like a very good trade off that is also realistic.
  10. Best nuke in a metropolis map I have made yet.
  11. This is a map I just made using Teragon and messing with the crater and city settings. Best Nuke in the middle of a metropolis I've made yet.
  12. You can generate burnt in Teragon. You need to edit the height at which biomes starts and stop in the expert settings. I like to make islands or lots of lakes and I do it in this order. Wasteland - 25 Desert - 30 Burnt Forest - 40 Forest - 80 Snow - 256
  13. I don't think you understand my point. lol none of that invalidates the point I am making. It breaks the economy regardless of whether they intended to balance it for 8 or 64. 20 dew collectors breaks the H2O economy and that is one of VERY few finite/time tied resources a player is required to use in mass quantities the entire game. It's a positive in most aspects of game play in my opinion. It slows progression so one group can't easily run away from the other and dominate super fast. That is always a concern in balance regardless of player count, the money/water economy is simply a side effect of this.
  14. Free no. Time+money. In a game where time is more valuable than money in certain scenarios, waiting for it to be created is the worse choice to make when you can buy it to craft much needed duct tape which you end up using a TON of while leveling up weapons/vehicles. I purposely skip every other tier I unlock simply because the cost in duct tape makes it not worth it. As far as player count. I have seen servers with 64 players. To say this is only relative to 8 is missing the point. I just did a search for MP and there are dozens of servers above 20. All that to say. Water is incredible value and when it take a lot of time to wait when you don't have all the time in the world, it becomes worth it to buy as a player who needs a TON of duct tape for their next weapon/vehicle upgrade.
  15. I see what you are saying. That's at base selling prices, and only to traders. That doesn't count any player vending machines on an MP server. It wouldn't be perfect, but you could certainly abuse the mechanic pretty easily. The prices of the water filters go down and your selling price of water goes up as you level the associated skills, so day 1 sure it sucks. Max out better barter and those filters cost 1688 and that water is worth 10 each. 5 stations time now goes down to 11 days and you have another filter. This is only if you are selling to traders and not other players using trader stores in MP. Solo who cares if you cheese it. MP it BREAKS when things like this get out of hand. This isn't as bad as it could be, but if you sold 15 water a day to players at store prices, that's a new filter everyday with barter 5.
  16. you are confusing passive vs active. You dont spend any game hours "making water" you can be grabbing stacks of stone while you wait. lol passive vs. using precious game hours is a big difference. Then add to the fact that mining will level you up which increases game stage and get stacks of water doesn't in anyway level you like mining. Completely passive income and no influence on game stage = broken economy. you example is the exact opposite of what I am describing
  17. that looks a bit off. I thought steel was like 10k and iron 5k
  18. hmmm I hit tab and just start typing. I definitely think what you are describing would be annoying. Is a joystick plugged in? it might be registering it as a cursor. Sometime I forget mine is plugged in an things will act funny until I remove it.
  19. if you have enough dew collectors you essentially have unlimited money because you can sell fresh water. Unless I am mistaken. Thats a good 1000 dukes a day for 5 water collectors. the same reason they nerfed corn. Once you have enough to create more wealth resources per day that it cost to create another, the economy completely breaks.
  20. I play solo and often have my forge/campfire/dew collector running. day 14 and I haven't had a single screamer from heat yet. Everyone is blowing this WAY out of proportion. If you have a dozen water collectors expect a ramp up in difficult do to cheesing mechanics. Seems fair to me.
  21. you ya know binoculars and rooftops like you would if you were scouting an area. Who is to say they are only interested in water. They could be scouting for signs of a settlement for raiding. lol not to hard to imagine. Would you just randomly roam around looking for resources, or be smart about how you spend your calories?
  22. This is an interesting change. Lots of ways to deal with it. I think any free resource production should have some influence in how noticable this is for all aggressive entities. For the simple fact that you can easily cheese this in MP and become the king of water and duct tape on the server. You get get ridiculous dukes from selling that with no upper limit. Also this makes perfect sense if you add Bandits and their heatmap to this concept. Those npc types I am sure would take note of a clean water source in their area. This places water into an area of concern when defending. Right now mine is just sitting out in the open.
  23. you ever try making a smoothie without an electric motor? lol I think the rain issue is it has to be 100% closed in. A single block open treats it like its outside.
  24. Thanks for the feedback! I got the sneak over debris and no noise book day one so I haven't been destroying trash on the ground.
  25. That would be pretty cool. We should at least have an electrified version that could be used like an air conditioner which literally works by drawing moisture out of the air. bump that up 2x production rate.
