  1. That's cold. I wrote 5 lines. I'm not the only one around here that honours nickname or title lol. Allow me to make it shorter just for you: Doors? no problem design-wise. Doors lowish hp. Opening doors bia stone axe-breaking takes the same time as lockpicking, both perked or not. Why break? because door knobs or shortcuts. Same with lockpicking or not. Design unchanged.
  2. I hear lots of yada yada from both of you, yet you guys are ignoring the fact that current locked AND closed AND planked AND reinforced doors (except the rare vault one) are just what, 1200 hp with all the swaps?. And breaking them is common for players with or without the "brass door knob" book. I'm just saying, making them pickable doesn't change a thing. Why? because it takes couple of minutes to break with a stone axe or a couple of minutes to pick open with 50 lockpicks. Perked? a handful of hits with my left buttcheek and lockpicked with my pinky nail in a handful of breaths. So design would stay exactly as it is now, wether you like it or not. Wether faatal likes it or not, lol.
  3. Lemme stop you right there. It's absolutely not the same. With 1 meter holes you DO have to redesign every single POI and it also gives the player an extremely unfair advantadge vs AI , yet with doors, you have an asset: Door. You code-in a mechanic (lockpick door). You can further swap current "nailed plank" door states bia animation/breaking until they become "pickable" (that is, once you break the planks down and said swapping happens, like right now). So it doesn't require redesign at all. With physics-accurate doors it becomes easier to implement, as you can get rid of all the swapping altogether and just make them 1500hp and lock-pickable. You go to the editor and change the current model references to the new ones and bam, there you go. Do they being "pickable" makes clearing a POI easier? well, that depends. Only if you are a lockpicking master or you have the lockpicking candy, etc. Exactly the same as a strenght character breaking doors like they were cardboard courtains.
  4. That reference is kind of ancient. Extremely so for millenials. Funny though.
  5. Looks like you have an "aerial" problem. Did you try to tap the dish? Maybe you should radio home or tune in for a new strategy :P .
  6. @faatal, a very serious question. If the burning Zd were to have "fire and bleed" immunity, does that mean that the businessman Zd will have tax-immunity ? No need to answer. I know Unity doesn't support bow ties.
  7. The former burnt zd was nice, but this one.... damn. Good work guys. That shader is HOT, and the sculpting is on fire. Burning up the puns on this charred ignition of an entity.
  8. I just found this picture of me in 2045 after a Saturday night party: It just can't get any better than this, I like this sweet detail a lot. Imagine it sitting in a chair so you can see him from behind, and then he turns and suddenly stands up to greet you. Ah, the nightmares.
  9. I completely agree with your point of INT encouraging other builds/use of other weapons . My point though, is that the baton is of no help to me with a full INT build, and that is not an arbitrary restriction, it's just that the weapon is a new age sharp stick with lacking electrical capabilities. When using the baton, I feel like a human sledge turret and I do not get the kills, granted those are for the electrical traps, but still. Even with Nerd candy I feel like I'm doing absolutely nothing vs even a plain electrical fence. So it's actually a matter of either bumping a little bit the dps to the baton or adding debuffs/mods to the weapon that make the player feel like he/she is DOING something. Also INT has a serious handicap when it comes to movility, so I wouldn't mind more MOD variety to enrich the baton. With a weird weapon like the baton with its HUGE disadvantages, my question to Gazz was one of "what the hell will a baton tree/primitive baton" add to the equation ? His answer was: Nothing. We just love to make sharp sticks (paraphrasing, lol).
  10. Spears are pretty good because of range and ability to be thrown alone. Not even taking into account the coolness of its stats nor perks. Baton has only the repulsor mod as its core capabilities are lacking. Repulsor mod and fully perked and read character will still make it crap. So baton needs more specific cool mods/bonuses/perks to be well balanced. That's the short version of my rant. INT is good. INT is fine. And thinking is a good thing sometimes. Not for my sweet sledge though.
  11. That's why I said that POIs are a non issue. It's pretty easy to plan ahead and make choke points. Hordes though, are extremely lacking on bases that require movility AND only use INT builds (I REALLY mean no bullets other than the turret ones, no explosives, no traps, no firearms whatsoever, I said INT and pure INT offensive melee/ranged alone, 2 turrets and the baton)). This rant is mainly about the combat effectiveness of the baton, which is arguably useful ONLY with the repulsor mod, and it should be way better than it is . DPS can be forgiven if there were OP mods for this weapon. The problem is one of DPS nevertheless due to the fact that dps of the baton is 20-36 and turrets do around 20 each, for a grand total of "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE " even with those 130 rounds per minute of the Turret. You can't fend off an horde without explosives, traps, firearms or any other melee weapon and using only the baton and 2 turrets? Man be serious, You might be able to escape, but you won't kill much in a common base. Not nearly as much as with any other pure build (again, no traps). INT lacks killing on that front, it's just delay fluff and does not have actual combat strenght so it relies heavily on electrical traps, so while the main combat capabilities are just passive support even while the player tries to be active with that crappy baton, the traps are valuable. IF we make a funnel base and concentrate a late-game horde, we might be able to fend off the horde. In this case INT's strenght is actually in crafting traps faster and managing resources more efficiently, as we talked about before, but still, baton is pretty useless. By "fire" mod I meant "Burning Shaft" mod. It was pretty clear with my explanation though. Baton cannot have the burning shaft mod, so that is also a serious (yet realistic) handicap vs the Stone Axe. On paper seems to do higher damage, but it's actually false if we use the burning shaft mod. The actual result is several Zds burning and the baton lagging WAAAY behind the Stone Axe, resulting in the Stone Axe being better with little argument (even talking into account the repulsor mod). At the end of my test those 25 radiated workers had from 300 to 400 (out of 800+ hp if I remember correctly). Yet the baton was only doing those 1200 damage with little to no dismemberment and just some flying electrocutions which did nothing more than delaying the kills. Just try the test yourself. Also, remember to do it FULLY MODED LVL 6 on all the weapons. The baton is the best roll I could find. They do not differ more than 1 or 2 points within it's level though. Balance reasons. You can fend off an horde, but the kill count is pretty low, because the baton does 20 damage and both turrets also do so (18-21 damage fully modded). So with no traps nor explosives nor any firearm nor any other help but height, you will not kill at all and therefore a pure INT build is lacking on dps combat without traps , which doesn't happen at all with any other builds. I was talking about the top tier club, which is not the baseball bat my man. It's the Steel Club. And Yeah. It's actually around 250% more than the baton, which is brutal and unbalanced. A sledge is around 400% more (always with full mods and best roll I could find of course). I see you didn't see the screenshots. I showed pictures of the baton inmy test with the best of the best mods and ALL BOOKs and ALL perks man. If you didn't see the pictures then I will give you additional info: As you can see, steel club lvl 6 is around 2.5 times better than the baton base damage (250%) and the Sledge is more than 4 times better (400%+ more). You get the gist of it. Also. YOU CAN win the horde with a club and a wall. Actually done it several times with nothing but the base and the club. No traps. Melee base with a corridor to escape little by little with hatches. You cannot do that with baton+turret+sledge and no traps (combined damaged is 60-80 dps) But yeah, you are absolutely right that INT has an edge with materials and electrical traps, yet the baton is still crap and absolutely useless in many a situation , which is the main point of my sexy rant.
  12. I see. Meanwhile, inside players' heads:
  13. So are you saying that a top tier stun baton fully modded has the same damage than a tier 1 primitive bow (actually has less, because I'm not taking into account a fully perked tier 1 primitive bow, which beats the baton in everything but maybe a bit in speed----> not really, as the bow gets pretty fast fully perked and 'booked'). Forget the bow. The baton tier 6 is WORSE than an stone axe and kills less both fully perked and booked (they are similar in stats but the fire mod makes the stone axe go on top. FACT. Tested. So what is your (TFP) point? I've never seen that bad of a balance on class weapons in any game. Low damage weapons need to be 30-50% less powerful than it's peers in videogames (I actually exaggerate, weapon types in Diablo and Skyrim and Titan Quest and Torchlight and Fire Emblem and whatever you throw at me are usually on the 25%-30% difference) . You made it 400% less + vs a club, 500%+ vs a sledge. There's no excuse here. (baton tier 6 fully modded has 20 entity damage, steel club fully modded around 75-100+. Sledge is even stronger). I used to agree with you. And then I tried full INT build baton-turrets only. It's crap. I stand corrected from my asumptions that all 3 would fend off an horde. They do not. but not only they (int weapons) do not, but they don't kill that much either. They do delay them a bit.... but that's it. As I said, telemetry the hell out of the baton and you will see that its uses are none to never. Sometimes yeah, because the repulsor is very cool and electrocution effect is nice. But you soon realize that not even the Lord will save you from death (Lord sledge and Lord turret) . My next test will be horde night level 300 every perk and book unlocked of machine gun+ sledge VS baton + turrets (top tier ammo and full books ). I know the answer. Even if they were equal, which they are not (they should fall short by a lot in kills) they will never have the mobility of the rest of the builds rendering it innefective in many parts of the night AND in POI Clearing (which does not really matter in this case). So the test will force a funnel base, or else any other base will spit on INT even further. Maybe the drone should stay on INT. Solution? How about the baton (edit: meaning tier 6 stun baton fully modded) has around the same damage as a lvl6 baseball bat? (2nd tier) Good as it should be but not much beheading going on. I dig it.
  14. Good point. On that note, I should ask this question: @Gazz, I would like to know... how much better is the baton tree in a20 ?. The reason for this question is: This is a stone axe top tiered and with combat mods: Stun baton with the best mods it can have: Primitive tier 1 wooden crappy bow with 1 mod: Looking forward to your answer, lol. Should we still get the "but d towers help" crap ? xD. That piece of clutter needs balance. Low damage ? sure. but not lowest in the whole game being dwarfed by even a stone axe.
  15. @faatal I've got a couple of sexy questions about mods and settings: 1. Is there a storage mod for vehicles planned for a20 (or later)? 2. Are there any other mods planned (or designed) specifically for tools ? Like improved tool speed or more "wrenching" damage (scavenging). 3. A while ago you totally promised to look at the new game settings and improve things like days with 240,480 etc mins, more finer/varied range for things like horde settings, loot and xp amount (1000% YAY), airdrop frequency or even newer stuff regarding Zd hp and mystical things like that (extremely made-up feature, lol) BUT you also said that it needs UI changes. So.... the question is: are some of those "more option" tweaks going to make it into a20 or is it just the one and only "feral sense option" for now ?
  16. Faatal: Yo lads, imma show you bag physics. Cool stuff ! Everyone: SEWEERS! GATORS!! SPOONGUNS!! YAY.
  17. Sewers.... for real? Like underground Pois placed below the road modules? Are we still talking about 7dtd?
  18. @faatal do you know what does the entry : ""Ignore Loot Abundance setting for Loot Containers. "" in a19.5 EXP means? If so, can you explain ? Sounds completely nonsensical on the surface, lol.
  19. As long as they provide a reason in the lore on why do we have primitive weapons in the world (for example, a guy/group makes them); then I'm ok with them and with anything else.
  20. Oh, that would be cool and consistent with the other melee weapons. Here, I just found the 3rd tier stun baton:
  21. @Roland good day to you sir. I was wondering if you would be able to answer a doubt of mine for a20. The OP says that 4 primitive weapons are coming in this next alpha, yet they leave a few weapons without primitive tier. Can you fill in the blanks and confirm (or deny) such claims ? Primitive pistol- pistol- magnum- d. eagle. Primitive rifle- hunting rifle-marksman rifle- sniper rifle Primitive shotgun- double barrel shotgun- pump shotgun-auto shotgun Primitive baton- baton -R. sledge- R.turret 1- What about Automatic weapons? ???????-AK 47- Assault Rifle- M60 I think I heard something about a primitive M60. Or is it a primitive automatic weapon akin to a crappy version of the AK?. 2- Are Crossbows getting a third or fourth model or are they staying put with just the 2 versions?
  22. Interesting [spanish accent]. Btw, what are you working on at the moment, I mean aside from optimizations?
  23. I'm thank you for your answer sir. Great job with the ported optimizations btw. Early testing shows up to 100% MIN fps improvement on my potato . That is a bit crazy. And also the truth. Finally able to play a19 8kX8k (edit: meaning 1080p and not 720p) maps smoothly on low no problem. THANK YOU very much. To hell with Twitch integration xD.
