  1. I kind of feel like Motherlode fits better in Perception (hear me out) because I imagine it as you can perceive where to strike to get more materials from mining. I do get though that would spread things out a bit much - it would suck to "have to" go into two separate trees just to get the most out of mining.

I like to carry a small amount of mines with me for use in pois. They work nicely placed in front of doors and other places zeds run through. Usually i place one after I've closed a door (as they beat on it) if i feel im up against too many. Ive used exploding barrels the same way (not sure id you can still pick them up, or if they still explode in a21)

but during horde nights i love using pipe bombs, even though grenades are more accurate/less rolly aroundy.

You can't pick up the gasoline barrels, but they most definitely still explode when shot!

  3. If I remember right, in A20 and 19 higher tiers of weapons would require more weapon parts. Now in A21 for some reason, they only require 5 parts, regardless of tier. Same with armor. This unfortunately has resulted in having a LOT of excess parts left over - not sure why it was changed, or if the change was intentional.

I hope next alpha, they bring in a whole new variety of quests. They have tons of poi's, they just have to use them.
    Ideas:
    1. Establish some type of Communication between settlements (Some poi's have a radio tower, repair it?)

    2. Rescue a stranded survivor... (they have the ai for the drone, couldn't they just fiddle with that a little bit)
    3. Take out a bandit camp (that's interfering with the trader's business?)
    4. Clear out an infested/abandoned trader base (for new a trader to make business there?)
    5. Repair a water pumping station (Water is very IMPORTANT!!)

    6. They could have bounties in the game (Find that target and eliminate him for your reward)

These would be awesome. We did used to have bounties in the form of random notes you could find, though they were more along the lines of "Go here and kill X amount of Y zombie."

  5. They feel kind of.. useless. At least at higher game stages. They don't seem to do much damage, but rather just toss and separate groups of zombies. Granted, ferals and irradiated zombies are damage sponges but, I don't know. explosives just feel kind of underwhelming. Would it be worth perking into demolitions?

Well good for you. We don´t have a crucible yet on day 24. I started building that big hordebase to use after our initial one on day 12 already even though we won´t need it before day 28. No steel that early and upgrading gives you XP. A lot of them. Also you get a lot of stone anyways when mining and afaik steel blocks do take ages to craft, so i rather upgrade instead.

We didn't either. But if you have at least a wrench, you can get steel from street lights. broken vending machines. gas pumps. You don't need a crucible for steel - just for mass-producing it. One Day 24 though yes concrete is plenty.

  7. You might make sure you're specced into Electrocutioner and if you haven't yet, throw some mods onto your baton. I run weighted head, repulsor, ergonomic grip and structural brace personally. Combined with 5/5 Electrocutioner, it's a stunning machine.

You owe me a box of 9mil ... I just put a burst mod into an SMG. Acts like a normal Full Auto, sounds a little chuggers at start, but not really sure if the fire rate has a burst or not. (full b324 playthrough).

Burst mod in a sniper started spelling out SOS.. three rapid fire shots, after that a slower full auto.

In my actual game though, so not spending too much time testing it .. :)

Burst Mod shouldn't act like a full-auto. It's a three-round burst, like the default fire of the Tactical Assault Rifle.

I always assumed that the semi was there if a player wanted more control aka single shots with an automatic weapon. Not useful for oh sh** weapons but maybe for one where you try to clear POIs with less ammo waste.

The burst and automatic are upgrades for non-automatic IF you want a higher fire rate, i.e. pistol comes to mind.

I get the idea behind them, but Burst and Full-Auto just don't work very well with some weapons, like the Desert Vulture. The only one I ever consider using is the Semi, and even then I never use it.

There's a bug right now where some switches aren't active when they are supposed to. And because some zombie spawns are tied to switches now, the workaround for now is to manually break the switch, which should act as if you activated it.

Oh, that's good to know. I'll try that next time I do a quest in that POI. Is breaking it with a pickaxe fine?

Yeah, it doesn't really make sense, though I'd honestly rather the broken arm than a broken leg.  I thought they fixed the multi debuffs problem but maybe not.

I know back in A20 they'd supposedly fixed the whole broken leg/broken arm thing (ie a vulture swooping down on you won't break your leg) but they either broke it again or didn't actually fix it.

I'd worry more about the multi-crit stuff. Get hit once and oh look: Abrasion, Infection, bleeding AND concussion. That stuff really needs to stop, vultures are especially guilty of this as is dogs. Almost everytime I am hit by a vulture even ONCE they usually land 3-4 debuffs on me, it almost feels like its 100% chance because of how often it happens. Lets just say if I get hit by a vulture and it doesn't land some debuff on me I am surprized.. as it happens that often that they do land a debuff (or several) every hit.

Yeah, that stuff's ridiculous too. Happened last night actually. One zombie. "You have an abrasion. You are infected. Your arm is broken. You have a concussion. Your wife left you and took the kids. You lost your job. You owe the IRS $40,000. Your parents hate you. You are tired."

  13. Still trying to figure out how something hitting our legs gives us concussions and broken ARMS. Wasn't the latter supposed to have been fixed in A20? Dogs, wolves, crawlers, coyotes.. and then there's the vultures breaking my legs.

I know, I know. "MUH SURVIVAL!" There's reasonable and then there's stupid. This is stupid.

  14. Does it seem weird to anyone else that the motorcycle just seems.. tougher? I've noticed it's often taking much less damage than the 4X4 when I hit things. As an example - I hit a shopping cart with the 4X4, vehicle took around 20% damage and went flipping end over end for more damage. Shopping cart was still there. Motorcycle? I hit a shopping cart (different one) and my bike took around 8% damage and obliterated the cart.

To other stun baton users, I was beating on a feral with my baton and he was able to ignore the stun and beat me to death. Are you guys seeing this and is it an intended change or is it a bug that needs reported?

Not something I've run into, but they are a bit more resilient when it comes to taking damage. What mods do you have on your baton, and are you talking about regular stun or the shock stun?

That's weird. At least half of the time I go to that POI, there are dogs in the back by the kennels.

EDIT: Though, to be fair, I've yet to visit that POI in A21. Maybe they've changed something.

Ah this was back in A20 Never any dogs when I went to the little vet clinic.

    1 hour ago, Riamus said:

I haven't done the vet in A21 but there were dogs in there in A20.  And Bob's Boars should have 4 boars in the basement and 3 or 4 on the first floor.

Regarding the zoo idea, I love the idea but I don't really like POI that provide the player with a huge amount of resources.  A zoo would give the player enough meat in one run to last the entire game as well as a ton of animal fat, which is actually more valuable as it's harder to come by.  If they could make all the animals zombie variations so the meat wasn't an issue, then it would be great.  But most animals don't have zombie variations.  I think that's best as a custom prefab rather than vanilla.

I'm talking about the big place called Hogzilla. It's a hog raising POI, but there was only 2-3 boars, and one was a Grace. Huge letdown.

  17. A zoo POI would be awesome, but knowing TFP, they'd put very few animals inside. I've done the Vet POI multiple times - no dogs. The new big hog farm? Only two boars, though one was Grace.
