Just curious what you mean by the knives don't feel like weapons. What is it about them (besides using them to slash/stab zombies to damage and cause bleeds) that would make them feel more like weapons?

I guess it's the minimal damage those two particular knives do. I know it's likely for balance, as they do high sneak damage, but I don't generally see people using bladed weapons as weapons until they have a machete. That, plus the fact that they are the best items to use to harvest corpses and animals, makes them feel more like tools rather than weapons.

I might be overthinking this but I noticed in the pictures about learn by looting there is a section for "harvesting tools" and "blades"

A hunting knife is both a blade and used to harvest meat/corpses/etc so... do both trees increase crafting lvl of hunting knife?

Similarly I think steel knuckles can also harvest, so would that be both knuckles and harvest tool trees?

Or stone axe as both a repair tool and a harvest tool?

No overlap, but it would be nice if bone knives and hunting knives felt more like weapons and less like just tools. I do like that they can pull double duty as both, but that tree doesn't feel like an actual weapon until you get a machete.

that does explain it all. :)

so if the devs change things to up the ante to a survival game... you basically want an offset to make it counter the change... hmmm sounds like playing american football in reverse only mode. you will never win nor advance. :)

No, I want things to make sense. I don't think that's asking a lot. And your analogy is nonsensical - If it were like football in reverse, neither side advances.

I'm saying the size of the collector makes no sense for the output. You guys want to keep it an output of three per day? Fine. It should be a smaller workstation. 2x2x2 (or 2x2x3) makes more sense than 3x3x4. Especially if the idea is to have us set up dew collector "farms."

That said, I look forward to A21 and seeing how this all actually works out.

As far as I have read, you should find more glue and duct tape in loot. In addition, the recipe for glue was changed so that you now need clean water.

If you want to craft a lot of glue then you will need several dew collectors. For 100 glue per week you will probably need 6 dew collectors.

Considering the size of the dew collectors, and proclaimed rarity of the filters, I'm really hoping glue and duct tape become more commonly found in loot and at traders.

Do you struggle currently to find murky water? It's in every toilet almost, plus several other places quite often. Plenty can mean several different things, but the meaning here is if you don't want to use the collector you can still survive, you'll just have to look for it more.

Or as MM would say if he ever popped in anymore: "GET OFF YOUR ASS!" 😂

I suppose it's more of a concern in multiplayer servers. The server I play on typically has at least 3-4 of us, and early one we still struggle with food and water in A20.

That said, given the apparent size of the dew collectors vs how much water they output.. they seem a little big. a 3x3x4 item should be generating more than just 3 bottles of water per day. If they want to keep it to three per day, fine, but given that the model is simple a plastic barrel and an umbrella, 2x2x2 seems more reasonable.

The dew collector is not the only way to get jars of water. Do you guys not quest or loot POI's? There is plenty of murky water out there to be found.

Define "plenty." It often sounds like you guys don't actually play your own game.

Weapons and tools should have a finite lifespan. I don’t think they should degrade to lower quality tiers. They just should become unrepairable. Maybe you can repair something twice but after that the repair kit doesn’t work and the item is only good for parts. This would be a significant change to improve both crafting and looting. I did a play through where I immediately scrapped repair kits and it was great. I’ll probably start that up again. Repairs for primitive stuff is fine but anything that needs a repair kit should be limited.  Think about the diamond edge mod that extends durability. Who the heck cares how long durability lasts when a single repair kit restores it to full again?

No., This is a horrible idea. If you would rather scrap your hard-earned tools instead of repairing them, fine. Don't force that garbage on the rest of us.
