I've made a collection of original prefabs (POIs and Decorations) available as a modlet. It does not contain any custom blocks, resources, objects, etc. It depends only on the vanilla game and introduces no other requirements or dependencies.

 

My goal is to provide semi-plain "meat and potatoes" POIs of an acceptable quality and in enough quantity to fill gaps in world generation and make a meaningful dent in player demands for variety. I hope you'll find these to be good enough to help round out the nooks and crannies of your generated worlds.

 

The modlet is configured to plug into the Vanilla game.

The modlet is configured to plug into the Vanilla game, but it also includes suggested configurations for the Nitrogen and KingGen world generators.

 

My prefabs are also contributed to the CompoPack, though that mod's release schedule seems to correspond with major game releases. Thus, I have also decided to make this stand-alone modlet available.

There is a known issue with zztong_Cabin_Fort_01.  (Thanks to baronlandau on NexusMods for reporting it.

 

There is a layer of incorrectly filled land below the POI that makes the entire POI collapse into an empty lot.

 

This will be fixed by the ZZ002 update, coming soon. Sorry for any inconveniences.

Which version of KingGen and what errors or issues did you see?

 

You are copying/pasting the contents of the file I give you into whatever larger file you're making, right? The file I give you won't stand alone because it doesn't include vanilla POIs, Traders, etc.

Version 19.6-ZZ003 has been released.

 

There are 9 new original POIs.

There are 4 classic TFP POIs that have been recovered from A17 and brought up to date.

This modlet now contains a total of 57 POIs.

The contents of this modlet will also be in the next CompoPack expected to be released with A20.

Version 19.6-ZZ005 has been released.

 

There are now 60 POIs and 9 Decorations (minor content, like POIs).

New in this release: Cave_01, KZTV_01, Skyscraper_01, Skyscraper_01_destroyed, Store_09, Store_10, Warehouse_01.

The contents of this modlet will also be in the next CompoPack expected to be released with A20.

I do plan to support and expand on this modlet in A20. (I'd start now if I could.) I don't envision any new content for A19 after this.

Note this part... "Cannot find default hubs." I believe this is saying it cannot find the "@hubs" part of your configuration file. If so, there are two possibilities:

 

1. I suspect you're pointing KG at the file I provided with the modlet. That's not how you use it. What my file contains is the text that you have to paste into a KG POI list that includes all of the rest of the world and POI configuration that you want. You see, I cannot know what other POIs you have, so I cannot provide you a complete file ready for KG. I can only provide you the details for my POIs.

 

2. When you edited your KG file that controls world generation, you somehow have messed up the structure of that file such that it cannot find the "@hubs" part. Since you should have just been pasting the suggestions found in my configuration file onto the end of your own file, you might have instead pasted my suggestions into the wrong place in your file.

Version A20.EXP-ZZ006 has been released to go along with the Experimental version of A20. It has been assembled under b233.

 

There are 59 POIs and 9 Decorations. All POIs have been updated to new A20 blocks. Some POIs were expanded with some new content. One A19 POI (the small Storm Shelter) will reappear later as a Part of future POIs.

 

All of the POIs in this version will also appear in an upcoming version of the CompoPack. If you use this modlet AND the CompoPack, then you will want to read my documentation to avoid duplication.

@zztong If you are feeling inclined, I would love to see some more trailers or trailer parks. I tend to make at least one giant trailer park on most of my custom maps. Ive used yours in the past, along with the vanilla ones and a few from EvilRaccoon, but theres always room for more as long as Maury Povich stays on TV... Thanks Man

Trailers are fun to make and I like to use them as bases. I'm curious how large of a trailer park you're after?

Pretty large, Ive got 3 single trailers and a park about the size of the vanilla park, plus the vanilla set which is 4 singles and a park, plus your existing trailer park, so ive currently got 10 i can use. I normally have made the park around the equivalent of 3 or 4 if the new tiles, so whatever you have time for, I will definitely use.

I normally pair those up with a pawn shop or two, then strip club and bars, laundromat, dumpy gas stations etc, i generally try and keep it low rent. I will probably try and get it to spawn with some custom tiles at some point in A20, its one i generally set up by hand, as its not overly difficult.

Between TFP and my pack, you should have around 15 trailers, maybe a few more. They have some trailers that are singles and some that are with Traders. I've got one or two outside of my trailer park POI. The Urban Survivor Site, for instance, has a variation on a TFP trailer that is part of a defensive wall.

 

I've explored the notion of supporting a custom District for Towns that would be a trailer park and at around 48-54 trailers are needed per Tile if I dense pack the trailers. I'm unlikely to embark on an effort to make 150+ Trailers as that would get boring, but another Trailer Park POI would be cool in the near term.

The problem is that not all buildings can be touched and it's sad ((I can see but I can't touch. ok so the server has zztongs mod in the server mods folder and the client (you) has the mod in your own mods folder in the game folder.

I created a world in a single-player game and the buildings started working. I transferred this world to the server and the buildings continued to work. If this is not done, but apparently all buildings will not work properly on the server
