    Granted my whole cycle is to play the new alpha... then when the mods get caught up run through various ones (preferably without reading about them).  Big fan of Darkness falls, though currently playing Crystal Hell.  Some of the tweaks/changes the mods make bring life into the game... for instance in Crystal hell... buildings can burn.

     

    @madmole Another idea to alter zombie diversity could also be size scaling.  If you made the zombies come in differing scales as well as different clothing it would make a horde look a lot more unique and in theory not require a lot of effort.  I know you guys don't want to do zombie children, just make zombies spawn between 60%-110% normal scale, it would make a group walking look a bit more random. (Totally not a suggestion stolen from Crystal Hell or anything >.> <.< -.-;;)

     

    The amount some mods do with this game is amazing... goofy, and sometimes awful.  But each mod is a different person's take on what they want the game to be.  We're not going to all agree, we just have to trust that the pimps take pride in this game and are doing their best work.  And from playing for close to a decade or so.. i have faith they will continue to make a great game.

    my 500 hours was an example, meaning if someone actually played that much its cause they are dedicated to the game.

    I personally have 2100 hours. 

    and yes what we looking for is some changes, let it be scaling, colors, textures.. small things just to give a new effect and look

    I say burnt zombie because it is generic and has recognizable features destroyed. I'd be just as happy with a mud covered deteriorated model that could serve as the main zombie model for 90% of sightings. Then all the current models could be special infected with various abilities and only sighted rarely so you hopefully wouldn't get two of the same within a single horde.

     

    Just goes to show that different people have different sensibilities.

    what i meant from i wouldn't imagine it in the snow area, meaning that the snow area has to also look like it got hit by a nuke!

    not a beautiful sunny day in the snowy area with everything intact and burnt zombies all over the place..

     

    the zombies or the area must balance each other as well.

     

    but yes, your idea is good

    i wouldn't imagine burnt zombies in snow area..

     

    a few slight changes to the current zombies(color, textures, skin tone , idk some easy touchups) would do just fine until 1 day they add new zombies and behaviors.

    like i mentioned before on another post, change the color of the same bedroom you sitting in without rearranging your decor or removing or adding anything and see the difference its makes to your eyes and senses..

    Yep, this precisely. Some people would like repeated skins with slightly different things on them others will be like "oh boy a zombie boe with a yellow shirt... and one with a black shirt.. oh hey that one has more dirt on his face... again..."

     

    Repetitive is repetitive, unless we have a few thousand zombie models the same people would always complain about repeating zombies.

    a slight modification in every zombie will make a change by the time they make new zombies and behaviors .

    you repaint your room and see what difference it makes to your eyes!

     

    move your desk and your bed and remodel your room with same furniture's and see the difference and new perspective to your senses!

    If you step back and look at all the complaints and demands you will understand that Yes, there is something missing!

    all the improvements and touchups doesnt change the fact that we are looking for something new! something different..

    people do not want water change, what will that do to my gameplay? in first hour or another few hundred hours?

     

    you do not encounter water in every mission or POI, but you do encounter zombies..

    It's one of those things that would not move the needle on sales even .01% too. New customers don't care if we add more zombies. I'm not that interested in more zombies without new behaviors. I wrote up a bunch of great zombie designs with behaviors but coders don't have time so more zombies or variations is just meh, and doesn't get us closer to gold or more sales so selling the idea is impossible, as well as we have to make room in the memory footprint for all these new bandits yet.

    At best we could add a few and put them into specific biomes so that memory can handle it, and it would still be the same problem, repetitive in each biome.

    Maybe we can leverage the character system to add a new zombie head to a player outfit and make some survivor zombies easily using the already in memory character outfits for some tougher armored zombies. These are more draw calls than the current zombies though and bigger textures etc and wouldn't be the best use of resources. Ideally we could start the next game from scratch using the system. I think the skeleton is different too though so animations become a problem. It's complex and like I said, it isn't moving the needle at all on sales, it just makes you veterans happy.

    Maybe we can use it for the next game if planned from the beginning.

    in that case, i promise you, you make a new version of this game with new and much more zombies and behaviors in separate areas and maybe toss a few hardcore foes with tons of HP and rare loot and put that game for sale as an addon or however you think best!

     

    All your veterans will be more than happy to pay for it. that 0.1% needle will turn into Gold! 

     

    i personally would pay for it with heart! if a fan as over 500 hrs of gameplay dont you think he wouldn't spend 10$,20$ etc. to get that ?

    he will 100%.

     

    they sell the same iphone over and over year after year and each phone is good for years right?

    do you see apple stop there? no, they design new headphones, new chargers, new accessories etc.. and people pay top price for it!

     

    test it and see for yourself.

    me and my brother have a manufacture in Canada, and we seeling the same product for 20 years, but each year we come  up with something new as well.

    and trust me people buy them for no reason or because they loe the first product.

     

    if as a fan we are on your forum and still playing this game, it is because we will also support you and the company. nobody will go broke for an extra 20-30$ after how much you guys been giving for over 10 years! so you get new commers and your existing players to buy a copy.

     

    its time. use it now before you also lose the existing players for the future.

    I know it doesn't put a checkmark on the "what to do list" but adding more zombies trust me it WILL make a difference!

    it will turn the new POI's much more interesting to discover!

     

    humans are fascinated in discovering new areas and beyond for a reason. we need to see and interact with new foes or NPC and see and hunt new preys.

    if every girl or guy looked the same then when you walk on the street you wont look at anyone anymore!

     

    i can walk with a redhead and see a Blonde girl pass by i will look at her, now the blonde girl comes in many shapes and form! so 1 blonde does not end there since 1000 blonde girl next to each other are still interesting to see since they all different from each other.

     

    same goes for the redhead, shes your girlfriend for 10 years, but when you see another redhead, she is as new as day 1 cause shes different in form and shape and different clothes and colors..

     

    all im saying is that new zombies is a MUST, it will Boost your A21 exponentially.

    Completely different people. The various water changes were done by three different programmers, who can not do zombie art.

    Then, why not get different people for the zombie and the art since it is the core of the game?! i would like to know if i go in that house or area i will face much stronger and deadlier foes than the same stripper running around the entire map. or that same dog from resident evil...

     

    every POI needs its own foes.

     

    every mission should have as well their own foes.

     

    every biom should have their own foes.

     

    i dont know how the T5 missions for nests will work but that as well will need different foes.

     

    a Team just for zombies is a must! its like having a car manufacturing and not have a team to design new cars and models...lets sell that same car over and over for 15 years.

    see how interesting it will become lol

    There are no zombie models that are practically done and just need to be added in. Nobody has been working on new zombies at all since they started working on bandits and player characters over a year ago. 

    such a shame that nobody been working on such important aspect!

    the game is about zombies and only few zombies are in the game with same appearance , colors, textures etc..

    over 100 new POI's but same zombies everywhere you go..how clever is that?

    from  Day 1 you start the game to lets say Day 7000+ that same zombie roaming the area..

    Bloodmoon or Normal day...again same zombies..

     

    a bit diversity maybe?! 

     

    i don't get it really, they put so much effort in other things like decors, doors, grass, etc but the one thing that we facing and dealing with in the game is a minority.

     

    what makes a new POI interesting? exciting? eerie? The new paint on the wall and the new frame? or new zombies , foes and what you may encounter further in that POI?

    T5 or T6..just multiply that same looking zombie X10 doesn't make it interesting..

     

    I mean how many times can you get a thrill from seeing that same zombie over and over, jumping out of the closet or catching you by the toe lol

    for example; the Higashi Tower, you get 50 zombies all dressed in same black suit..all same look, same model, a little variety maybe?

    i mean A21 Bandits didn't come into play for over 10 years now, right? they could focus a little on that part i think so it mixes with the new areas and environment.

     

    i use to play FFXI, and for first 50 levels you had the same mobs, crabs, hares and lizards... >.> i remember how much people hated that.

    But how much does it take to change the colors at least? shirt color, pants color.. simple things without changing the models so it looks a bit different and not repetitive?

     

  12. Over 2000 hrs of gameplay, many updates came along, and now another one..

    Not sure why there isn't new zombies, new look, new behaviors, etc..

     

    even i noticed in prison area they don't even have jumpsuits or stripes, idk give it a more prison look and environment?

     

    instead they used all the few zombies with same clothes and look and filled up the area..

     

    I think instead of new decorative cars and tractors or wtv, they should've make new clothes for the zombies so it doesn't become annoying and tiring?

     

    you see, even if you make a new area in space, and use the same zombies and clothes it will just look the same!

    new area new POI needs also new zombies..not sure why they don't see this as game developers, no concept..

     

    but they use their time on unnecessary decors..

    not the same game for past 10 years but better graphics ..

    i mean I love amazing graphics, and my pc can take wtv you feed it, but need the features to go with it as well ..need some major improvement towards the things to do and achieve in the game.

  16. lately its been so quiet, no updates, no motions in the game..

    was wondering whats going on either than the event..

     

    its been some time without a patch.. was thinking maybe cause they wont be another patch  until A21? XD

     

    maybe by this Christmas? hopefully it wont be like last chrismas where it came out first for the streamers.. 

    this time try to patch it for everyone and the streamers can still do what they do for the new fans..

    its amazing man, great job!!! you need the cars to that takes passengers to the plane or the airport to come off..

    some police cars.. luggage's around... fires.. red lights.. basements, hangars..

     

    this could be HUGE, a real mission lvl 5 or even 6 !

    Subquake has different goals and a different vision than the developers. The developers are spending a lot of their time on underlying code and creating systems to make the basic vanilla version as polished and stable as it can be. A lot of this work will result in hooks and interfaces that modders like Subquake will be able to make use of to do even more. 

     


    The devs already have their own roadmap to finish up. They have created a framework that makes what Subquake has done possible. They don’t need to make the base game just like Undead Legacy. The base vanilla version makes for a better starting platform for various different authors to take things in other directions. 

    oh yeah for sure, if it wasnt for the devs none of these guys could do any of this..but just saying the ideas and complexity is what makes a game more challenging, and more challenging is also more fun and interesting..

  19. So i downloaded and played Undead Legacy by Subquake 7dtd MOD.

    and i can say it is the MOST complete Game I ever imagined!

     

    there is everything you can possibly have for this game.

    everything from building, vehicles, skills, lvling etc..

     

    now how come this guy can do this and the original dev cant make something so complet...so detailed!

     

    from making simple frame boxes which requires nails and planks, and residue of woods you get from making parts to high tech doors and much more.

     

    you even get mining cars! and all the cars have perfect physics they don't bounce around like other mods, and the sand buggy is AMAZING!

    Took me awhile also to get the combination right.. ill tell you how!

     

    1) you have your generator inside i guess

    2) place your first switch inside where you want it

    3) place your door

    4) go outside and place another switch

    5) you need to pass a cable from Generator > Second Switch outside > First Switch Inside > Then Door !

    6)now you an open and close door with both switches !

     

    if you place a motion detector you wont have to place switches you have to do same method. and also same with trigger plates.

     

     

  21. We are lvl 56 in A20 B3

    got practically everything but still no drones!

     

    Drones are cool to have, so it can carry some meds, foods and supplies for you from start or early in the game at least when you running here and there before you get vehicle’s..

     

    i believe it’s less useful later when you do get vehicles storage .

     

    for the mods no problem it can be much later in the game..


    can the schematic be a little more easier to find please?

    I can say there is a lot of changes and the dev listened their fans! even the old ones lol

     

    idk if it was meant to be or not, but i actually saw a HORDE of zombies! like i've been requesting for so long.

    it was amazing to see that!! :)

     

    also! with the new concept feral senses, it changes everything! zombies coming from everywhere.. its incredible.

    loots are fine now, turrets are fixed, they don't go underground anymore.

    my bike doesn't disappear.

     

     

    its polished, its stable, its nice and fun!

    don't break it lol

     

    i think its time to move forward and bring in the new stuffs!!

     

    wanted to thank you all for the hard work, its actually fun to play now knowing everything is resolved.

     

    that horde of zombies made my day !!!
