Not all loot. According to the patch notes, some loot tables are exempt from the loot setting. But yes basically most other loot would be reduced too but at least you would no longer have a reason to complain about too much water.

Anyway, we'll see how it plays out... as someone else said, maybe the stream I watched was skewed by good RNG, and on average, the water RNG is fine.

Well you still have the option to set your loot to 50% if you want to struggle.

I imagined someone would reply something this stupid.

Your suggestion would work perfectly, if I wanted all loot to be that way and not just water. :rolleyes2:

I take it you've been watching... less casual streamers?

I watched jawoodle, guns nerds and steel, and khaine and they all seemed to be struggling a bit with food and water. Buuut they are definitely not... the best at the game, let's say.
I think for the casual player it makes it more difficult. For those of us who are very experienced I think it will just take a little bit of adaptation and we won't struggle at all.

No, I actually was watching pretty casual streamers that don't play the game too often.

They just need to do POI quests and loot everything, and they'll get enough water to not have any problems.

It doesn't take a genius to do that lol

  4. A21 is great.

But I'm disappointed by the water survival changes. Haven't seen anyone in the streams struggle for water, even just a bit, in the first few days.

This part of A21 was kind of underwhelming. I expected better "water survival" and I see a change that will only achieve to remove empty jars from the inventory.

It was intended to make water an issue again, at least in the first days/week, but it missed the mark in my opinion.

I hope they'll do a balance pass during experimental, and lower how much murky water or drinks you find in loot.

Does anyone else feel like that? :confused2:

    Seriously,

What? Do you live in la-la land? :rolleyes2:

You don't think it's possible to have major bugs creeping up after a fresh experimental released to thousands of people? Really ???? really ????

Is it just me, or did Lathan seem frustrated/fed-up with Des on the stream tonight? Not in his words, but his body language.

That's his way of joking... he actually helped Des a lot, by offering a huge amount of SPs if 100 people joined her channel.

I think that worked very well in the end.

The whole game is in alpha release. IF they didn't intend it to be bought and played at that level, they probably should have held it until it was closer to ready.

Except you bought an Early Access game... which makes the whole development process different, and based on that you should also change your expectations accordingly.

In fact, it's very likely despite your feeling now that the dev stream this Wednesday will fully satisfy you especially since you'll be on the forums over that weekend. :)

Damn! You're so convincing! ... Now I feel compelled to watch both the dev stream and Pokket! :eek2:

    Spoiler

  9. Well, I don't know about audiences, but I can tell you how it will work out for me.

Before knowing about the game play dev stream, I was willing to watch some streamer (probably Pocket), and see there how the new A21 plays.

But now that I know there'll be this game play dev stream next Wednesday, I'll probably watch that one and not the streamer.

I mean, it's just me... but I wonder how many more will do the same, honestly.

Since there is a lot of pages to comb through, and i dont have a fine toothed comb, would anyone say that a21 is a fair bit more optimized than a20? like not gonna drag a comp down?

Yes. There have been optimizations in A21, for sure. Whether they'll be good for your specific computer configuration, though, you'll have to see for yourself I guess.

  11. That's too bad, honestly. A stream that will probably show content that will be the focus of the Stream Weekend, it's a bad move in my opinion.

It's like stealing the thunder from the streamers, basically.

People are already hyped and are only waiting for confirmation of the release date. A game play stream will just @%$# them off.

And all this, independently of IF the streamer weekend will start on June 9 or June 16.

    Just my two cents.

I won't even publish this news on Steam because I'm "afraid" of the backlash, lol

Ahhh yes the old "my test environment is so beat up I can't tell if the issue is real or broken just for me"

Yeah, it's incredible what these programmers come up with to justify a delay, am I right? :heh:

Things are looking pretty good at this point bug wise. Most of the current must fixes can be done during experimental. We only have one major bug that needs to be fixed before experimental, which causes the server to hang from what appears to be POI resets triggering water updates. The water sim programmer is working on that one. Granted we may find other nasty bugs as the testers continue testing.

That's great news! Thanks for the reply! :)

So, the water programmer is aiming for a "flawless" release... :heh:

I found out about this forum from the Steam forum since they talk and complain about its existence ALL THE TIME going back 9 1/2 years ago...lol

Well, mostly, those who complain do it because they have issues having to register here.

I don't know what's their big problem, but they often start ranting about having to register "two times", one on Steam and one over here.

I understand how annoying it must be to buy something on Steam, and then have to create an additional account for each game you're interested in.

Some games even force you to create accounts with other entities for on-line rewards and profiles (e.g.: Ubisoft, EA), it never ends.

That being said, it wasn't difficult for me to register here. I could even connect my Steam account to this one, so that's a plus.

    I'm a casual mid-life gamer

Lol! For some reason, I was reading: "I'm a casual mid-wife gamer...". :pound:

Regarding dev studios' official forums, what many people don't understand, is that since 7D2D is published and sold on Steam (mainly), means the customer base experience for many players is biased to that platform. That's why I've experienced first hand that most casual players there, only check on the game once in a while (or even after years) and they don't know and, frankly, don't care, about an official forum.

They bought the game there, and they expect the devs to be there.

It's not a question of "ignorance", like some hinted, it's a question of level of interest.

And even if this may surprise those of us who are passionate 7D players, most customers are probably just casual players who bought the game years ago and played the alpha available at the time for a bit and then left. The same ones, buy regularly on Steam and have many other games, so they don't have the time/patience/will to search deeper.

    And that's that.
