+ doors getting locked by themselves

+ No warning when you are getting too far away from quest

    + many more...

But i'll not complain that much about this release since it's one of the cleanest Alpha imo for now

Sometimes when I kill zombies, they simply disappear (no death animation).

I don't know if it's related to the bug, but I'm using a bone knife. New game started on stable.

That is quite possibly the dumbest idea I've ever heard of. It's early in my day though, so I mighty hear something dumber.

Getting upset about features makes you hungry, for example... now, to the kitchen!  :pop2::pizza:

So basically either let them get full to minimize possibility of screamers which then further limits the amount of water we get or keep collecting So they keep producing increase the chances of screamers which can easily get out of control?

Ridiculous to implement *heat* production into something we can't turn off. How is this any different than mass producing bullets in a crafting station unless that also generates alot of *heat* which should call in screamers.  Seriously does crafting bullets in the workbench generate heat? And if not why should the dew collector make heat if that doesn't?

    No pain, no gain.

Had a zombie tonight in a POI run right past me (I even thwacked her in the head as she ran past) to go and beat on the corner of a wall and ignored me completely.

That corner must have been awfully sexy... :frusty::love:

So, since I'm still on stone tools and spears and wooden clubs, having one mod slot at tier 3, is a good decision....  Not at tier 5 yet since I started a new map/game with this drop, but you honestly think that having ONE mod slot for the entire stone level, tier 1 through 5 is the way to even out item progression?  Seriously... so, this means the iron level would have, what, 2 mod slots for tier 1 though 5?  Those levels took me days to progress through with the magazine nerf in the last build.  I'm saying, either up the magazine count to earlier levels, or something!  I'm already getting ferals on day 1 since my trader is on the edge of a city so, yeah, sure.

I'll have to test this and see how it feels... but personally, I like the concept.

So the dew Collector can now call in screamers? So you people caused a problem with the jars and the solution was oh put up dew collectors, you saw people use it by making a bunch So you increased the price for the filter and now you do a massive nerf to make them generate hate somehow and make them call in screamers?

That's not so different from real life if you think about it... they created a virus that started a pandemic (caused a problem), they then sold us the vaccine, and then they raised the price of sale to governments, even during the pandemic. Then we found out the vaccine was unsafe. This generated A LOT of hate! ... And people will start screaming!

See? Not much different from real life! :confused2:

Oh, I get that. Realism, but only if it's detrimental to the player!

There are two groups of players I've identified : one that doesn't want game mechanics to go against the player unless they're "fun", and the other that accepts the "unfun" part as in line with the survival game genre. I'm part of the latter. I'm not searching for realism, though... it's a game about zombies, what the heck!

I like, however, when you're challenged with worse odds, and you have to adapt to specific rules (or game features) that are there to hamper you on your survival.

Yes! It's gotten ridiculous. I'm thinking they just want our characters to be constantly malnourished and ill. "Survival" indeed.

What is more probable during an apocalypse? That you find fresh food? ... No. You find either mostly canned food (if they didn't loot it already, or old, unsafe food.

I very much agree with this assessment. Going from tier 1 level 5 to tier 2 level 1 should feel like a progression. Considering it will hold less mods then the stats should play a bigger role. I can see looting a level 6 would have an overlap.

In my opinion, they should (to the least) up the durability of the next tier by 100%, and maybe lower the stone tier durability by 50%.

That way you have something which is "better" which breaks every time, versus something that's slightly worse, but that you have to repair once a day.

That's also kind of realistic, isn't it?

After all, it's like fighting zombies with sticks, or fighting them with a durable, full steel, machete.

Day 12 and I unlocked every cooking recipe in the game, with only one point put into Master Chef. While very convienient, it seems fairly unbalanced to have every meal recipe available to you while still using stone tools, and just before the second horde night. Just my thoughts.

    1) RNG (not everyone will experience the same)

    2) The most easy to loot POIs often have a kitchen or some sort of kitchen cabinet -> hence more prob. to find cooking magazines

    Just my 2 cents

This is supposed to be set in Arizona, right.  By all that's holy, why does it rain more in the game than it does where I live in Louisiana.😛

That's not the current Arizona, it's the post-apoc Arizona! :nerd:

You're all the same... all of you guys who love every change TFP is doing, no matter how inconsistent with previous changes, you take it as an opportunity to defend their every move.

I'll see myself out. See you in 2-3 years discussing another revamp of progression system 😂

You completely missed my point. I see people that criticize the changes, not on the merit, but just because they say the devs change stuff around too much.

That's not constructive criticism, that's blind nay saying and an immature approach to the development process.

No - i think the people that buy, play and support the game are important, not me.

The only person "swallowing" without complaint is you.

    Enjoy sucking it down...

You're all the same... all of you guys who don't like the changes, or how many changes they do, you take it as a personal affront.

Like if TFP are doing this because they want to @%$# off players like you. :rolleyes2:

My vote is "I don't care which system they go with as long as they make up their damn minds and stick with it". Changing the entire system every year instead of focusing on other things like new content is just annoying to me. They can't seem to ever be happy with anything they do and move on from there.

If that's your problem, why did you buy into an Early Access game in the first place? :suspicious:

You know an EA game is almost guaranteed to change a lot of times during the development process.

Now, I know TFP do way more experimenting and balancing than the average dev studio, but still...

    Another assumption there 😉

And given that extensive testing I'm confused why the balance is so messed up (and first patch already was largely about balance).

Look, dude, why don't you stop with the bantering and teasing and just spit out what your problem is?

If you think the new system is unbalanced, that's just an opinion based on anecdotal evidence, at most.

Roland has no horse in this race... it's not like if rebalancing things would hurt The Fun Pimps, maybe the opposite.

So, let's start with some facts: how many restarts did you do? What were your settings (loot abundance specifically) in each restart?

That would be a good start to understand if your opinion has some merit, or if it's just your personal point of view on the matter.

Your opinion is respectable, but balance changes can't be based on individual players' opinions.
