  1. Honestly that looks like a displayport or hdmi issue. Try another cable
  2. Well, a server is a server no matter where or who is hosting it:). Using Himachi works, but it does add latency which could cause issues down the line; if TCP 26900 and UDP 26900 through 26902 is forwarded to the friend's machine (local IP) and that local IP is static and not handled by DHCP, you should be able to connect to it via Litenetlib. Just because others can connect and you can't doesn't really mean much, since they can potentially find the server quicker even though they are using Steamnetworking because Litenet doesn't work. Litenet is a direct connection, which is best, but does require ports forwarded/open to that machine to work.
  3. LiteNetLib: Connection failed: ConnectionFailed This is typical if the host of the server doesn't have the port forwarding done properly and/or there's a firewall/antivirus getting in the way and needs exceptions. Port forwarding on the client doesn't do much of anything.
  4. Np. Can you take screenshots of your video settings? You can leave it in your native language if you don't have it on English, no problem, I can read it. I know we put a limit on texture quality settings if the users gpu vram is low, to prevent out of memory crashes and other errors, I'm guessing this is the case. But, I can try to give you settings to change to make it more crisper, maybe.
  5. Your GPU won't be able to handle Ultra settings with 3GB of vram. But, with that said, if you have Dynamic Resolution set to Auto or Scale, that will do it too; especially if it's on Auto.
  6. Well I checked to make sure nothing bad happens from deleting the intro clip, worked fine. There was no silent update that we did last week, unless you mean Windows or something else. This is looking like an antivirus getting in the way, they update all the time.
  7. This is perplexing, but we're not giving up Did you try deleting appdata yet? Take the 7daystodie folder and rename, delete, or move it. Those errors seem like everything is corrupted, or something is preventing the game from loading assets. If that doesnt do it, we may need to do some system troubleshooting. If it's not even generating a crash log, usually that's a sign of a bigger problem. Windows up to date? Turn off any ram oveclock, or xmp profile in the bios. It can take days or weeks to fully diagnose an unstable ram config, so try disabling as a quick check. I don't see how that would cause it, but in my experience with computers, I've learned that saying "that's not going to do anything" can bite you later and that could be the thing you needed to do hehe. Well get ya running one way or another.
  8. Hmm, the log doesn't show much of anything sadly. That error is likely thrown because of the timing of the crash. Is there any folder called TheFunPimps in Appdata/LocalLow or Local? If there's a crash dump, that would be useful to look at. Some other program may be interfering with the game; make sure not more than 1 antivirus is installed/running, and add the game folder and the appdata folder (roaming/7DaysToDie) to exclusion lists. Do this for Windows Defender too (well, it's called Windows Security now.... same difference): Search for, or navigate to, Windows Security Either click Open Windows Security or Virus & Threat Protection Virus & threat protection again There's a Manage settings button, go here Scroll to the bottom for Add or remove exclusions Add an exclusion Folder Select the 2 folders Note that disabling everything can help, but unless you do some serious hacking around you won't be able to fully disable real-time protection, so adding an exclusion makes it completely ignored. Actually, when the gpu driver was reinstalled, was DDU involved? If not try that out (just disable networking before you do it). With a card of that age, there's a good chance some driver files got jumbled together/corrupted. When you use either nvidia's or amd's software to do it, neither one fully removes all traces of the old drivers.
  9. Definitely not hijacking . But yeah, in general. I believe that should have been fixed already, just curious about the details if it's still going on.
  10. Yeah with only 4GB (likely only about 2 or 3 available for games) of ram there's really no way to get it to run on the switch, I think it's limited to some tiny storage space too. I will second VoltraLux though, the game does run pretty well on the Steam Deck. I played an A21 run at an airport and on the plane on an entire flight and still had like 20-30% battery left ^^. Actually, worlds have been moved to get the game optimized enough for the consoles, getting it on the switch would be moving universes lol
  11. That should be fixed for A22. What map was that on? RWG or Navezgane?
  12. Yeah older DX was ripped out of the game files, it's only 11. Do you have an AM4 board? If so you can grab one of the ryzen processors with an on board GPU, or some older cards that can do fine have dropped in price a lot, maybe an rx 580 or something if you're on a strict budget.
  13. It's intended, why it's not in the KI list ^^. It's left like that for a few reasons, but it could change. I can bring up maybe adding a "finished bloodmoon" flag, but no promises ofc.
  14. I have fond memories of doing splitscreen with my friend quite a bit back, when it wasn't crashing lol. Not saying it is or isn't on the table, but will say it would be near impossible because the hardware on the ps5 and xbox is just barely enough to run the game as is. Graphics aren't too much of an issue, mostly it's the CPU/RAM that are lacking there.
  15. Ah fair, too true. The the fiasco of their new anti-lag+ deal getting players banned by anti-cheats that's taking them what, half a year almost and still no fixes lol. I contemplated getting a new AMD gpu the other day, and these reminders keep me away.
  16. That KB update is a heavy security update to the kernel on Win10 and has been having issues with a lot of users, as far as shortly looking it up has shown. It shouldn't cause anything with Epic. More likely Epic is having some issues, they've been having a lot of them lately. Some things you can do is restart your network/computer, do a ipconfig /flushdns
  17. Yeah unfortunately AMD has always been behind on drivers and game-support, they can't quite seem to get it right on newer cards. I'm really hoping a Unity update will help that out. If you ever get a hankering and want to do some troubleshooting definitely let me know.
  18. =( Hopefully soon, we've been crunching away at it. If you want to, send me a DM and we can link on discord or something for live-troubleshooting to see if we can't find someway to get you going for now, just let me know.
  19. It might be that aging CPU (... can you believe that was almost 20 years ago? Sheesh the time), but a log file may provide some reasoning why it's happening. Adding the game folder and save folder to antivirus exclusions can help (add the entire folders to exceptions). This game is heavily CPU-dependant, so Heaven wouldn't show very much, but still you should be getting better than 12-15 FPS so something may be off. Your resolution may be too high too, try it at 1080p. Also, this game really wants to be installed and have the save folder on an SSD, it will suffer on a HDD.
  20. You can, search for "power plan". They renamed it lol. I am on win 11 too. Once I get home in a little bit I'll do a video. At least we made some progress. @faatal would you have any workaround ideas? Or is this something you think would be worked out with a Unity update done for A22?
  21. Hmm. I do know that there's a possibility a new Unity update would help you out, which we've been doing for work in A22 (we have updated a few times). But, I'd love it if we could get you playing now Something seems to be getting in the way... couple of wild ideas I have: Try uninstalling Radeon software and making sure none of it is running; or, make sure everything is dictated by the game (i.e. make sure nothing in Radeon Software is passing on option changes) Edit your power plan, notably go into Advanced Settings and look for these, have a play around with them. Also, you have enough power to do this: try running the dedicated server on your machine and connect to it (you can bypass port forwarding most likely by connecting by 127.0.0.1 in the manual join by direct ip option in the browser). If you have a secondary machine (even an old laptop), that works too. Ah one more thing, when you reinstalled the GPU driver, did you use DDU? If not, try it that way. The last AMD card I had was notorious for needing to use DDU like every month, the reinstall options for AMD (well, Nvidia too for that matter) don't reinstall the driver cleanly and will leave old stuff behind. DDU will ensure all of it is wiped. Install the new driver (before rebooting after using DDU) offline.
  22. I will say there is a known bug where the backpack can move but the hud icon doesn't update with it, so you've got 2 locations where it is.
  23. Dont forget when you see changes like added art or whatnot, the entire team doesn't work on one thing at a time, but performance is always something we're working on. Besides an SSD (and BAR, which likely won't affect much for this game, but it should be turned on regardless as it's a stable change that only benefits or does nothing) like others said, it may also be worth hosting on a server, whether it's rented or on your own machine. My second/test machine has a quad core CPU with 16GB of ram and it runs game servers pretty well for me/the Mrs. and another friend/2/3. I can host on my machine too, but usually I'll run it on that. It offloads some of the CPU work to the server. Also, there are some settings that may alleviate some CPU/memory bottlenecking (which sounds like your case): Dynamic Mesh, RARE cases where the Dynamic Music (although that shouldn't be bad anymore), View Distance, Object Quality, Particles, LOD Distance, Reflection Quality, Reflected Shadows.
  24. @Durmir This one is a bit weird. I looked the compute error up that's in your log, and I haven't found much except it's something thrown in Unity on post-processing errors... maybe try disabling: Reflection Quality Reflected Shadows Bloom Depth of Field Motion Blur SSAO SS Reflections Sun Shafts It may not be all of these and it may just be one of them, but if we get you going with all of these turned off then we have a big lead.
  25. That's all it reaches to, is there a crash dump in LocalLow/The Fun Pimps? Odd... the last thing it's doing is setting the texture quality, but I'm not sure if that step is it loading the textures into memory or not. Have you added exclusions to Windows Defender? Just in case you don't know how (since Windows does move it around...) Go into Windows Security Left side, go to Virus & Threat Protection Under Virus & threat protection settings, there's a Manage setting button, click that All the way at the bottom, there's a Add or remove exclusion button, click that + add an exclusion -- click Folder Add the main 7 days to die game folder, and another one for the appdata folder Also, Malwarebytes I know of to be a very persistent program in that if you uninstall it, usually it still runs anyway, hiding in nested program installations. Check task manager (both programs running and the services tab) and hunt for Malwarebytes/Bitdefender processes running. Most of the big name brand antiviruses are persistent installs, and try their best to remain running without the user knowing, or thinking they actually uninstalled them.
