  1. Yeah what Stallionsden said. So, when you add prefabs like that, you're adding it to the world generation mixer. When you generate a new world (not just making a new game on Navezgane or Pregens), those prefabs will be added to the world if they can be. When you hit New Game on, say, Pregen01, that world was already created so the newly added prefabs won't be there. You can, however, use the World Editor to manually place those POIs inside of it, then start a New Game on that world. You can bypass adding POIs to an existing world, but you'll need to do a region reset or start a quest there for it to repopulate (although this is not a supported way, it just happens to sometimes work, although it can break things, so I suggest a new world to be safe).
  2. Please describe a bit on how you're doing this, the OP was a user using a server setup by AMP -- did you do the same? Information like: Are you the host, is he the host? Is the client crashing the host or does the client crash when it attempts to connect to the host? Also, a log file from each of you during a crash would be needed. Thanks
  3. Hm, I can't speak from any experience using Wayland at all, but I did run across a large argument about it on github, so I would stick with X11 if that's working for you. Boycott Wayland. It breaks everything! (github.com)
  4. okay. if you could, please post a log file. We're taking a look into this and need as much data as we can get. Thanks!
  5. Can you post a log file for us to look at? There are instructions pinned here for that; also, did you play on Steam and Gamepass? Or just Gamepass?
  6. This isn't true, the zombie count is the max zombies that can be alive on the server/game, in total (quests can go over this cap a little bit). You may want to have a poke around in the spawning.xml file. There are two values you can adjust here: spawn max count and respawn delay (respawn delay is how fast replacements are spawned). These settings are for your biome zombies.
  7. If you've resolved the error and having the last part still, that sounds like a corrupted player profile. Post a log file for us to take a look
  8. It's just a file within the game directory. The config file is in the same directory too; once you run it it does everything else.
  9. Yeah that is the one; that's weird... this Failed to execute : 740 has shown to be an error launching a process due to lack of admin privileges. This doesn't make too much sense, since you don't need, or shouldn't need, to run game applications under Admin. Have you changed anything in your system settings recently? Do you have third-party antiviruses/firewalls installed? If the latter, try adding exceptions for the Appdata folder (%appdata%/7DaysToDie) in Roaming and the main game folder. Also, verify your game files twice and reboot your machine, and make sure you don't have any failed windows updates or any updates in queue (e.g. installed but needs reboot to apply and somehow it got stuck or something).
  10. You're okay. The NetworkWorkaround just needs to be run on the client. When a client connects to a server, the server/client negotiates the MTU and if the setting is turned on by the client, the server will agree to the max MTU that the option sets it to. If you're still crashing... it's something else (or maybe this and something else, too). I believe you're the second person lately I've seen with issues using AMP. I'm not familiar with it at the moment (will learn it tonight), but a really good test would be to see if you can run the dedicated server without it, and just use the built-in one. From what I gather, AMP manages your game servers for you and has a graphical interface, but also adds functionality to the server. So, perhaps something is interfering with the game that it's doing, trying this would definitely narrow it down.
  11. You can upload it to any website you wish, pastebin.com or something like onedrive. Just make sure it's available to the public for sharing, or make it passworded and share it with me
  12. This seems to be the wrong log file, this one is a very long session with no crashes in it.
  13. I suppose the biggest/quickest troubleshooting would be to just run the server without the AMP (which tbh I'm unfamiliar with) on a new save after verifying your files through steam. If it works like that, then we've narrowed it down to AMP.
  14. Sorry, this is certainly a confusing issue and we're discussing it internally to figure out how to fix it and how to prevent this issue entirely. I'll relay back when I have any sort of information.
  15. Ask your friend to run the NetworkWorkaround option found in the General section of the settings.
  16. You're welcome! Sorry about that, we're working on some fixes for it.
  17. Try running the file verification tool in the xbox app, and restart your computer and network as a quick troubleshooting.
  18. This is weird. Go into Appdata/Roaming and create a folder called 7DaysToDie, then inside that folder create another empty folder called logs. Not sure why the gamepass version has been doing this to some people, going to investigate further into that.
  19. Might be due to a drone, are there any errors or warnings spamming in the log? If it is a drone, pickup any drones you can and then delete the drones.dat file in the game save folder. You might need to run the command "jd clear" in the F1 console menu after, too.
  20. Firewall/antivirus exceptions on both the host and the clients, the Network Workaround option in the General settings can help. Likely this is due to an unstable connection causing excess packet loss. Also moving this to General Support^^
  21. Glad you both are loving the game! So, what you're describing isn't very common and you need specific network cards to use those. If you do, to be honest I'm not sure on-hand how you would go about it. But this game also works over LAN as well, as long as you have port forwarding done properly (may not be needed). If one of you has a strong computer (or if you have a spare computer), you can run the dedicated server built into the game folder as well for LAN play.
  22. https://community.7daystodie.com/announcement/11-report-an-alpha-21-bug/ See this link for additional information if you need, but at the bare minimal we would need a log file to have a look at this one.
  23. No problem, yeah make sure he's got it in there, just because it ran through Defender it doesn't mean the exceptions weren't one properly, just was noting that I saw it in there just in case he didn't realize he was still running it and didn't add the exceptions there too.
