...the usual stuff that players craft while playing 7Days? Srsly, lol!

    Duh! I found a smart-ass here I see... :heh:

What I mean is... what do you actually craft based on your skill choices, the parts you find and the materials you loot.

We've been talking about crafting being nerfed, because most people can't find enough parts early enough to craft something that makes crafting worth it vs. just looting or buying better gear from the trader. By your answer, so you apparently never had this problem?

Admittedly we build workstations as soon as possible even if we found a working bench nearby because we obv don't want to be waiting for trader to open and nighttime is for crafting.

Can I ask what do you guys craft usually? :suspicious:

but crafting perks have never been in a worse spot imo. Even as a crafting character I still don't see any reason to ever take them, especially the vehicle perks.

I think crafting shines when you need to craft mods.

I always find schematics for mod crafting and I often craft weapon/armor mods myself after I get a workbench. :decision:

What’s the time frame for stable release ? How is experimental looking ?

I’ve been stung starting a new play through on experimental in the past but It’s hard seeing all these play throughs poping up on you tube.

    1. Does anyone know how to extend the blood moon? Here is my first blood moon at A20. The zombie respawn ended at ~ 00: 00. Too easy

I agree that for us "veterans" of the game, the first BM is too easy... but it's supposed to be kind of an introductory blood moon for new players.

Also, you're playing in a team of 3 people, so it's even easier for you... I don't know if that's already taken into account, but I think the total number of zombies in the BM should be multiplied by the number of players that play. I think there's something along those lines for MP, but I don't remember the details (I only play SP).

  6. @faatal I think someone found the reason for the hiccups that some people have been experiencing...

(Originally posted by Sgt.R.Lee on Steam) - The A20 half a second constant stuttering in cities is resolved by shutting off dynamic in-game music!. Give it a try next time it starts constantly stuttering and it goes away :)  Hope they resolve this for the stable version or I will just keep it shut off.

I am happy with the new short grasses and terrain textures.  My only wish would be that putting a land claim block down would mow all the tall grass within the land claimed area (and maybe give it menu option on the LCB radial in addition to show/hide boundary).  I have a very poor substitute as a mod that make the whole world look like The Duke's crazy brother Mowin' Matt went wild on the world.

That could be exploited by repeatedly placing LCBs all over the place (even if honestly I don't know what the purpose of that would be lol).

bit coin farmers really arent whats going on anymore.   the fact of the matter is that the demand is too high and they are simply selling for what the demand is.

Yeah, but you didn't explain WHY demand is up... I know the answer, but I can't tell you here because it'd violate the forum rules.

Sorry, but there is no way to override that code.

How much VRAM do you/they have?

I think most of us are around 3GB VRAM.

But regardless I can't understand why we could use the High texture detail settings for objects in A19 and it worked! :confused2:

What's the deal with the concrete decal blocks and not being able to place blocks on them?  Kinda takes away from the building aspect of the game.

Downside to the shape menu; we can't XPath the individual shapes that are seemingly created at runtime.  Hm.

I found out that the decals are not simply decals... you can destroy them like blocks: after that you'll be able to build there! :)

Trader Joel is trolling me on the quest reward options...  I can choose 4 Herbal antibiotics - Orrrrrr, (dun-dun, dun)  2 Herbal antibiotics.  ??  Hmmm

What a jerk!  I'm guessing it's a bug, but, then I wonder maybe it was on purpose.

Well, the first four will expire in just a few days... :biggrin1:

  10. @faatal : I and some other people are having problems with the video settings because they're now restricted on some systems because of supposedly low RAM.

In A19 I could set full textures for objects without any issues. Is it possible to bypass the auto-setting in some way? Thanks :yo:

The trader zone is from max ceiling to bedrock. If shrunk to one block surrounding the trader walls this still wouldn't be an issue.

I think the problem could be more related to MP games. They want to stop anyone from building a "gateway" base to the trader, limiting access to other players.

I never run to get my backpack anymore because my standard setting is destroy all on death. I like it very much as a death penalty because it clears out all my best gear and forces me to downgrade to other things and make do until I can recover. I also always cancel the starter quest. Until recently it meant I could go quite awhile before finding a trader but now it seems we spawn close by quite often so it isn't much of a search. Next time I log in I'll remove my bedroll and see what I think about random spawning as a death penalty.

You made me think about trying "destroy all on death" on my next run... honestly, I didn't even remember the option was there! :confused2:

Yeah, I ate my shorts when I checked, I guess you can put the weighted head mod in it, which is great! But like, why none of the other club or damage mods? Burning shaft, barbed wire, chains, they'd all go great on the pipe baton since it's a long cylindrical weapon... I guess there aren't models for it, which makes sense and is totally valid, but it's still kind of dumb 😕

And why can I put block damage mods in it? Who is using the pipe baton to break wood, stone, dirt, and iron lol

I knew some people who were experts with the "Tonfa" (pipe baton) and from what I understand the barbed wire and chains would be a no-go.

This is not a "combat simulator" so it's understandable that some things are not 100% believable... but just FYI the pipe baton is also used like an axe/pick, meaning that you can switch the grip from the short handle to the shaft and use the handle as a pick/axe to hit harder.

That's why I also think that the "pickaxe" mods could potentially fit in.

The rest are not fit IMHO.

As to your point about dying to erase debuffs and regain food, water, and health.... I am with you 10000% and I've been voicing my opinion that at the least there needs to be an option to turn on persistent status after respawn for those who don't want death in a survival game to be the cure-all for everything we are trying to survive against. Does ANYONE really care about the XP delay to the next level?  I get that it can't be the default setting because new players would get into a death spiral they could not recover from. An option, though, would be nice.

I've been thinking about this, and MY own idea is that TFP should completely remove Bedroll Respawn from the game (or at least put it as an option).

This means every time you die, the biggest downside would be that you'd respawn in a random location far away from your base/bedroll anyway.

Most people, after dying, just run back to their backpack and recover everything very quickly.

But, what if you die and respawn far away from the place you died? That one would be a real bummer, I think it would be even worse than the current penalty!

Just bring back Wellness system. It was perfect for 7d2d.

I disagree, once you could cook some meat you'd recover wellness very quickly and dying became irrelevant.

What type of money contribution are we talking about here? :suspicious:

One problem I have encountered is that the indestructible zone surrounding traders needs to be shrunk. With the current, very cool way that A20 stacks POIs so closely together the trader zone can bleed over making a POI unlootable and even creating a situation where players can get stuck. For an example just hop into the pregen 10k map and check out the POI right next to the first trader the quest points you to.

Yeah, there's still stuff that need fixing/tweaking.

Hopefully, we can help them squash :smash: as many bugs as possible before stable.

@Gazz would have the best sense of how much xp would be too much and he would be the one most likely making that particular change if it got approved.

Yeah, but the problem is his MS Excel crashed, and now we're all screwed... :pout:
