What i personally think never should have been changed.

Let me start off by saying i have been playing 7 days to die since about alpha 15 now and i absolutely love this game. But there are some things i really don't like that have been changed and I just kind of want to vent about it i took a break from the game for a while now and i came back to alpha 21 for context i last properly played in the like alpha 19ish. i have checked in on the new updates a few times now and i honestly feel like its getting worse.

 

point 1: overused dungeon poi's the dungeon poi system in concept is really cool i like it but it is overused i wish that they where for missions only this way you have normal houses most places and the dungeons in different areas. It gets really annoying to have every house you go into to be a Skyrim dungeon i get its a fun idea but its really immersion breaking when you go into your 17th house and it has some weird meth lab or bunker underneath it that feeling of stumbling across a bunker is only cool the first few times it gets old quick the other issue is zombies spawning into dungeons which is really annoying like its really bs clearing an entire area just to walk through a trigger then the game spawns 5 zombies for you to kill.

 

point 2: The new farming system its kind of @%$# when you have to dedicate so much time to farming and collect a load of rotten meat just make it the way it was in alpha 16 again and we good

 

point 3: the weird new perk system i preferred the one in alpha 16 but I'm sure you guys will change it again anyway so no use in complaining about it

 

point 4: why oh why did you remove the old hunting rifle also why remove the blunderbuss it fits in with the pipe weapons better than the current pipe shotgun idk i just preferred a janky looking blunderbuss over a @%$#ty pipe shotgun the worst part is fun pimps could keep both in the game and everyone would be happy

 

point 5: idk who at fun pimps thought it would be a good idea to add the worse weight system ever made by a game developer the slots that are locked off is so annoying like i know they had a whole thing with clothing mods going on but its such a big issue early on to be able to carry lots of stuff so every playthrough my first few skill points go into fixing that abomination 

 

point 6: the new ai system sucks dog @%$# who though it was a good idea for zombies to be able to sniff out the weakest part of your base they are @%$#ing zombies they aren't some advanced predator that can detect the weakest point in your base alpha 16 did this so much better again zombie spawns walks towards player destroy everything in the way its not that deep no need for hyper intelligent zombies 

 

point 7: instead of redoing the perk system for the 80th time what about some new traps.

 

point 8: also it would be nice if you could loot zombies again just make the bag a special drop that drops really good loot and you can still have the bag that drops from zombies.

 

lastly i feel like even though a lot of these things annoy me to no end i really think they have made lots of improvements i like the new look i like that they added the quests its going in a good direction but i just want some of the things to be better and they were better. If you combine the existing improvements with all the best systems from past alpha's i think this game could genuinely be the best zombie survival game to ever exist

Water could have been treated better. It was a problem but removing it wasn't the solution.  They basically had a gash on their leg and rather then stich it up and heal it they gelded it with a hot iron. 

 

 

Some learn by doing features were cool but not all. I'm fine with weapons and running but crafting was a pain. 

 

Wellness was cool but it was too slow to get

 

Alpha 16 night vision googles.... enough said.  

 

Zombie spawn setting and amount that did spawn. 

 

Looking down the Iron sights properly rather then looking over them like a dumbass.

 

Hostile wildlife in the forest 

 

Plains 

 

Caves kinda. But could have been better 

 

Bee hives 

 

More dangerous infections 

 

Old hunting knife, m60 and feral wight model. 

 

Sawed off shotguns actually being sawed off

 

Some old pois like pump and lug 

 

Climbing spider zombies 

 

Smg 5 iron sights

 

Burnting zombies spawning on horde night. 

 

Old ambience sounds 

 

Zombie ai but I do like the smart zombies too if it were up too me I would have basic zombies act like Alpha 15 and 16 while feral zombies act like how they do now

also something i forgot to talk about is the fact that they removed a lot of the tiers of the block upgrades and it feels like its a rush to get to concrete now instead of going through the tiers i don't remember all of the tiers but i remember it was something like wood, upgraded wood, scrap, metal, then concrete and lastly polished concrete or something like that I remember polished something but I'm not sure. but yeah it feels like the game is progressing really quick atm but also not like base upgrades and stuff go really quick cause you rush to concrete but then you still have pipe weapons.

 

also on something adam the waster said yes i think you could do the ai system that way i actually talked about having both stupid zombies and smart ferals on a youtube comment i made a while ago and most people agreed.

 

also bee hives would be a great addition i know they removed honets nests way back when but getting infected early into a perma death run then having to scramble to find stumps always feels kinda stupid just make it so some trees have hives and make it so we can loot them then we good.

I think you misremember about concrete. Sure, there were two types of wood and two types of stone in older games, but they were practically available from the start, made not much difference and that didn't hinder anyone to rush for concrete. The only thing I am not sure about is whether it did take more time to go to concrete and whether there was an additional step needed to craft reinforced concrete.

I only miss scrap tier
