unholyjoe
he said "Heavy Sigh!" .... venturing to say it wasnt what he expected. they work the way they are suppose to but i think it takes getting used to them.
Rotor
I think theydo work. I managed to loot a set. I dont use them in BM. I can see them being usefull in a confined space, even mining if you dont want to attract critters with a light. They are restricitve.....just like in RL. It is an acquired taste. Urban Blackbear
Has anyone ever actually wore real NVG? There's a reason why people do high steps with them on. You literally cannot see the ground at your feet. The newer ones are better but still not great.
Rotor
I have, the older versions, mid to late eighties, depth perception was real issue then. Dont know about now. We lost 2 helos in 1986 due to drift during NVG ops.

ElCabong
Night vision goggles work great. Especially for an agility stealth build. Especially when you're at the higher end of the experience curve and hunt Z's at night in the wastelands. Or night missions anywhere but especially the wastelands where they are the most fun. Ammo on Day 2 is the difference between always getting your chicken and sometimes having it get away. I was fairly sure I had enough food for that night but I couldn't exactly remember. theFlu
Can't see what to shoot? Can't shoot what you see? Not necessarily a bad choice as ammo is a lot easier to come by. Then again, there's the gamma setting as well...

I found with my own play that controlling the lighting in my house made a big difference. When in-game night hits, I turn off the real-life desk lamp, etc. While I do like to use NVG in-game at night, I can still stealth POIs without assistance. It is just a slower operation.
