  2. For me, the biggest kick in the balls here is the "I now have to spend time replanting these". Now, honestly, it is with a bit of mixed feelings on this since in the very early game I tend to have random crap everywhere and having to replant is semi useful to group like things together(but that's an OCD thing), but in the late game it's just another thing I have to spend time doing. I played on console(so A15??) and man, the time it took to replant crops was quite annoying, so when I got the PC version last year(A18 at the time) I was so pumped to be able to spend more time crafting/mining and less time futzing around with plants. I can certainly appreciate the feeling of wanting it a bit harder for an unspeced person to grow food, but my gut says this is not the right way to nerf farming
  3. Not in the game industry, but I am a developer by trade. I can't tell you just how many times I estimated a problem to take 2 hours to fix and it took 8 days, or how many times I estimated a problem to take 5 days and it took 20 minutes. When dealing with pretty much more than a singular programmer(and sometimes not even then depending on the size/age of the code base), you can't really estimate something you are not intimately familiar with. Then, on the other side, there are times where I want to spend an hour in the code to create edit code to make it more flexible and easier to deal with in the long run, but would cause a massive set of regression cases that would take QA weeks we can't afford to spend.

I have checked the release notes via searching for "map" and noticed on a a few streams something that I assume to be a bug OR an undocumented feature in the release notes: Specifically, on the in game player map, the icons assigned show up, but the labels no longer do in A20(as they used to do in A19). Is this a feature(got I hope not!) that is not documented(or perhaps not well) in the release notes? Or is this something to be considered a bug for fixing?
  5. Does anyone have Alloc's written(or a good summation) statement from last night's Dev stream concerning mod changes? Prime went through it fairly quickly and for the life of me, I cannot find it in his VOD... I know it was at some point after the Q&A started, but just can't find it!
  6. Yes, Server world generation and local client world generation will produce entirely different results. The seeds here are were client made seeds and won't be even remotely the same when a server generates them.
  7. If you go back and read the posts by dcsobral, he goes over some his logic. I am using the code he created to generate my list. For Tiers, that is the total unique(I BELIEVE it's unique, it might be total) POI's which are eligible to be a quest poi of a specific tier, either tier 4 or tier 5. Why is this important? It may not be important for some people ALL, but for others they might not want to do the exact same tier 5 quest 50 times in a row and having more tier 5's helps with some of the boredom. The best seed by the numbers is ClumsiestAbeles but IMHO, the generated map is less than stellar with very small forest to land area ratio. So far, my personal pick for map is Bad-temperedBench. While it is missing 3 of the top 15 dancapo spoke of the map itself is quite nice with a high ratio of forest to land area a small and completely empty wasteland(ie, no quests except for possibly digs there!!!) a tiny snow biome that shares roughly 1/5 of a town with the Forest. a fairly large burnt biome but with only a smallish town Desert biome does have one small and two medium towns no single mega city though so that might be a downside for some The southern half of the map is disconnected from the Northern half(ie, no roads). MOST of the POI's are located in the Northen part of the map, so pray for a spawn up North... I will update the spreadsheet as more are generated, and provide any updated recommendations as I find ones that might be suitable
