  1. Yes horror is connected with edgy and controversial. Well even classic like books - Frankenstein was considered as controversial in their period ( i don't want to do lecture about that). And i could wrote about movies comic but jut focus on game shall we? Okay so : let's start from older games to newer : Resident evil was censured because was too much controversial in some countries. F.E.A.R - unethical experiments of children, nude adult Alma + gore, Outlast 1+2 - gore and hm.... some "reference" ( you can find about controversial connected with 2), Fatal frame? Gore, suicide, character design, torturings and stuff. Silent hill - well just everything you want ( as example famous piramidhead and mannequin scene), The evil within - gore and some topic. Fnaf, Poppy playtime - i thing is know good enough to not have to explain, little nighmare - how to descibte to avoid spoilers. Pathologic 2... a lot of controvesial trops. Limbo - kid surffer in deppresing timeloop. The forest - canibalism, gore, experiments, types of enemies, "choice". So as you see - edgy and controversial topic is part of horror, there in such things in 7DTD Now i'm famous like Jason and Freddy 😜 Oh.... there is comedy horror, zombie horror, japanish ghost horror, slasher horror etc. You sound like typical old man sitting in gas station warning teengers who want to spend summer in cabin in middle of woods πŸ’€ You know what are you mean but this is like saying that elephant ( german tank destroyer) and T70 (soviet light tanks) are both just tanks because both have "barrel and tracks". But diffrence is so big. Tale of ice and fire, chronicles of narnia and lord of the rings are fantasy books - but are so diffrent right? For long period even racing games have two "stict" categories - Arcade ( here could be both lego and need for speed) and realistic (WRC) so you could be totaly fine about what type of game it will be. Now people can call survival horror - cod (zombie mode) , resident evil and 7dtd while this games are totaly diffrent like total war and age of empires
  2. Can zombie hit players through hole or not? Because if you have almost destored doors and if zombie coudn't hit you you could spam "stunned"attack ( like sledgehammer power attack) and be able to clean room pretty save
  3. Depends what "many" players you treat as minority. I consider that you can't "non-active players too". I think majority of cod players - 60-70% never wrote a post about cod - just will buy no matter how bad another cod will be . So you have 30-40% minority and you have majority in this smaller groups too. So if you mean majority of "active players" - you are totaly right. But if you mean totaly players not. Consider that COD is popular gift - this effect have a even name but it's better to not write this name here. In HL2, Portal 2 and terraria you have pretty active community - i think most people read offical notes, take parts in polls or events ( offical and unoffical) while in cod situation.... people just buy game and that's all. Unfortunatly cod is something like coca cola or adidas - is considered as "good as famous". But for shareholders year to year lower sales of cod is bad sign. More and more people don't want to buy cod for many reasons. So managment will be forced to listen "majority of minorty" A.K.A people famous in cod comunity because most "problems" are common - perk system, minimap etc. you know small changes but important for gameplay.
  4. If they lose 10 customers by their decisions they gain another 100 customers. There is a room for constuctive feedback but you and other guy wanted big changes on almost finish of production - not only count what you suggested but when too. Depending what it will be - sometimes one game is success another game is just... fine. Get positive reviews and everyone forget about that game after while. So until first information it's better to be sceptic about that Coca cola in released everyday while nike shoes everym month! in this same time 7dtd is still not released so... maybe he want to see news 7dtd every year like FIFA 😜 Well you are wrong here because in some situation it can work. " no interested in spending money" can be sign for developers too. Take a COD as example - majority of players would buy cod no matter how bad it's will be right? but if let's say - selles will be smaller by 5% it will be bad enough for shareholders so company will be forced to make changes to increase sellings. And when they annouced changes that people want in their next game more people will be interested to buy another cod. Ofc TFP situation is diffrent but in big company situation it can work

  10. Horror elements =/= survival horror. Cod BO3 have RPG elements - make decisions etc. but you can't say it's a fps rpg. In this same time Bordeland can be called fps hackenslasher because both things here are equal. GTA 5 is sandbox FPP-FPS ( after update it's equal) with raceing elements not sandbox FPS- raceing game. Call to arms you name FPS-RTS hybrid because both parts are equal but man of war FFP control is just small element. The best example about this diffrence - Fear is horror FPS while Bioshock is FPS with horror elements. If played/watched gameplay you can spot much bigger focus on horror in FEAR while in bioshock it's just small addition like in Half life 2 because much bigger focus is on typical PS3 FPS elements. Why i'm so sticking about that? because if developers/publishers were much more stick about that situation on market would looks much better

"Strange place" is hm... style of place that's not "normal" uhh let's say - in slasher movie girl fall into the pit under totaly normal hotel and there hangs bodies and painted flowers on walls with small altar. You know - normal "generic" destroyed house and normal house with chained skeletons in basment or hanging corpse with drawing on wall Okay i will explain to my point of view - " Let's move on." you can find in every community people who write something like that. And no matter how something will be bad/boring/ pay-2-win there always will say "use to it" or " let's move on". Quick example - during WaW period people complaing about silencers and reflex optic on MP40 but some guys were saying "let's move on this is just MP" or " but it's fun so this mean more to be fun" and now in Vanguard we have anime skins and terminator skins... in ww2 game. It was a long process. So that's i'm so "conservative" because... some people can say that MC is horror game because creepers in mines or cod is realistic because have "such good graphic". But more accurate should be "MC have horror elements, cod have realistic graphic" small diffrence - yes but if you ask me -> tons of small stuff change things a lot

I just use "effective" solutions - one time vulcture respawned in strange place and i and my friend coudn't find this - solution? collapse the building XD Good too know that water overhaul will be pretty big Okay : i mean that's some "tropes" are similiar - in Dead space , f.e.a.r. little nighmares, or the forest there is big "focus' on environtment - a lot of corpses, strange voices, controversial stuff, dark and deppresing stuff usually characters are pretty weak and lonely and if meet someone usualy this person die after while. In post apo you have two " main ways" - west - like fallout or rage - parody and satire, while in east post apo is bigger focus on deppresing stuff but in this same time you have a lot of characters. You can make post apo with zombies and this don't have to be horror game - for example they are bilion. Okay so why the forest is horror sandbox game while 7dtd is sandbox with horror elements? 1. world is more dangerous and "secretly" that 7dtd - strange places, you don't know what to expect 2. enemy design and types 3. controversial/edgy stuff 4. much more gore everywhere 5. characters are pretty weak and resources are very limited 6. "art style" decisions
  13. Terraria was released pretty early like MC or Vein. as "horror " games you have for example: Dead space, Layers of fire, little nightmares. Compare this game and 7dtd. Then compare 7dtd and fallout "Try doing a quest without firing a shot or attacking zombies...just avoiding zombies once they've woken and it feels almost exactly like Resident Evil." Well this is not this same thing - there is something diffrent that don't have ammo that have tons of ammo and "challenging" yourself. In Metal Gear survive you have to sneaky kiling zombie for most of game because you don't have good weapons/ammo. This is something diffrent that be forced by game and be forced by yourself. If i'm only person here? Yes. In this same time on NMRINH2 discord people writing very let's say "edgy" or "dark" stuff as game suggestion or in general topic. Why there is no such here? Idk- maybe reason that there is on discord. Or this community is much more "setting" that "gameplay" focused. I think you agree that The forest is survival horror - then compare the forest and 7dtd. Well- you can then compare the forest with f.e.a.r or any game that is considered as "horror" game. If you call 7dtd survival horror this is mistake. But if you called 7dtd survival with horror elements - this will be 100% because even cod , half live or even legend of zelda mayora mask can be called games with horror elements But now time you have 60-70% completed in my opinion. Water overhaul is in my opinion at least 10% - why? you can find water everywhere so - after A21 i wll say that point is finished in 70%-80%. okay so i can agree with you about that
  14. Yes? because usually you would get more that less - terraria get more, MC get more etc. usually just few things - too overpowered/underpowered , not working properly or not suitable is removed. But for example - if this is FPS and one map is cutted then 3 more is added, in Sandbox if one sword is cutted 5 more is added etc.

Roland horror is not "gameplay" style but setting - sci fi, post apo, sengoku period, horror, western etc. ofc this can be mixed - warhammer 40k, painkiller, bordelands. 7DTD is zombie survival as for example cod or NZA 4 (not gameplay but setting is main condition) . Horror zombie survival would be : dead space ( controversial? yes, a lot of gore? yes, a expensive lore? yes) , days gone ( as above), dead island etc. but if you mean "horror in open world" would be The forest as best example - is not zombie game but have every "horror trope". 7DTD is just post apo with zombies. No no no. There were much more biomes but were removed. So if for example - were 3 then 4 then 5 i would agree but now number of them is heavy reduced so this is like - if i would give you 5 cookies then take 2 cookies you will be angry about me about that 3 cookies right? from kickstartet Solo, Cooperative and Multiplayer - Play solo, coop or multiplayer in our unique Zombie Nomad Mode be a human, a bandit or a zombie for a no rules experience. Watch the leader boards and fight to be the Big Clan of the Wasteland or the Duke of Navezgane. So - hasrd to say - we have Solo, Coop and MP but lack of zombie experience. So this sounds like promise about playing as zombie
  16. Claim 2 - 7dtd is not horror game. Shooter? yes tower defence? yes RP? Kinda? Survival? yes. horror not. it's not a horror game because add zombie into game don't change game into horror game - plants versus zombie is not horror too. Claim 3 - well number of bioms is rly small. Lack of caves still hurts. Claim 4 - Not even 10% for now. But i hope for a lot of lore stuff in future Claim 13 - well.. screamer and demolishion zombie are some type of bosses. Claim 14 - i think it's abadonned claim 20-... maybe it evolved into strong melee attack. claim 21 - well i think it should be added before full released claim #23 - and that's great Friendly NPC would be the worst thing that could happend. So i'm so glad that they don't implemented that. Well lack of more weapons hurts a lot but i think it's fault that they creat perk system and they want to make melee weapons as equal to range weapons

  19. "fun" well can be everything - for someone fun can be run and gun in fortnite while somone would be fun spend 1 hour per turn in Total war. HOI is... frustraiting game that's why people love thing game soo much. Arma is not "fun" game but people love this that you can sometimes sit in one place and do... nothing. Well ofc early is neccesary to go inside every POI but during mid if you can have food near base there no big sense to check most POI's like houses - yes some of them like shops are worthy but most of them are just background. And that's logical. I know that people spend a lot of time making such POI's and it's neccesary in game like this but..that's why ruins in wasteland are soo good - looks good and you know that' shoudn't be anything there. I think too many Pois are "full of loot". Because almost everyhouse have tons of wood, probably 3-4 weapons and random crate. I undertand why but from "setting " point of view bad . I know this is a little bit not directly connected with your post but... too much of " worth loot" empty houses is just annoing
  20. Honestly: DL1 was good about zombie models. You could find soldiers with diffrent variants, swat a looking a little bit diffrent. Zombie civilians looks diffrent because just colour of their clothe is diffrent. So that's why i love DL1 while DL2 looks like "clone wars". This is sad that l4d2 was made in 2009 and have much more zombie variants that modern games xd Zombie in this games isn't big risk. It's not project zomboid when you trying to avoid them or l4d2 when you have be careful all time. Mining is the most effective thing - because you never waist time - looking for interesting POI's need time so you just wast time walking and running. While during mining you are effective 99% of time because you gain EXP and materials. So maybe you can find something interesting in POI but this is offten wasting time

  22. Much more work with animations pathfiding, zombie can attack animals and i if good remember zombie ignoring drone. And honestly.. it's not such hard to make drone this days so i think a lot of parts could left in military bases etc.
