  1. There was fertilizer so you could make "dirt" better and if i good remember - dirt had 3 stages of upgrade and was good. I can't say more because i just don't remember too much. Sometimes can - i give you theoretical example - you see infected pilot - so this is visual information that there is clashed helicopter nearby which can have some goods. If you see zombie patients near railway - there is a chance there is train nearby. If you see zombie with acid wounds - you can expect acid nearby or special enemy, If you see zombie with radioactive changes on skin - you can expect radioctivity. not connected with 7dtd but still with zombies : you play in medieval game with zombie - you see zombie merchant? maybe there is cart with good. you see zombie princess? oh there can be much more powerful nearby. You play in sci fi with zombies - you see zombie doc? this mean there can be zombie security with armor nearby. you see burned zombies? this mean there is flamethower enemy etc. So - skins can give you informations that can be useful during gameplay You can yes but... why do this ? i mean literaly why - Typical square fort is the most effective - mean generaly - similiar solution is used in starship troopers against bugs - just the best option is make drawnbridge with few doors and turrets behind doors and tons ot spikes. just because making shooting holes, tunnels etc. would only make thing harded because zombies are too smart so can focus on such places - while simple fort allow to check every side of fort. making such gaps or shooting holes won't help with vultures and will just reduce visibilty. so wall in medival style are the most effective with just courtyard with traps.
  2. No - older were harder - zombies in A11 (or A10) always know were you are so it was harder. meat smell - harder to get food. guns parts as many types not one item forced to looking for specific part of gun. Cleaning corpses were hard job and you had to check if it doesn't left any body pile. farming was more complexed. wight spawning in tunnels. much less water on map ( or i just had strange luck) , old wellness system were harder that this system. Valhiem will have difficulty after new update " Another thing we’re looking at for Hildir’s Quest is playtesting some new server settings. We’re trying out a hard mode and an easy mode, but also a casual mode where you won’t lose gear upon death. The normal mode will still always be the best balanced version of the game, but we hope adding more ways to play the game can both provide a challenge to experienced players and open the game up to players who would rather take a calm and relaxed approach". change of diffculty doesn't add new enemies or mechanics. only game i remember that rly change a gam was brother at arms: road 40 which was adding snipers. Dark souls doesn't have diffculty just new game + which ofc boost stats of enemies but adding new enemies too. That's why diffculty should be create by complexed mechanics which need a lot of time too learn not from just changing stats. That's true not in combat. but building is even less important. You probably watched TWD - how is looking "making" base there 1. find building 2. barricade 3. focus on food etc. Because it's most optimal Because from logical point of view - nobody would make base from begining just use older buildings + using concreate military walls ( i mean portable). etc. and that's it. Who would make villa during zombie apocalypse. Nobody - it's more like hm... sit in garnison during war - you focus on food, guns etc. not to make place beatiful. so yeah - defence is rly important so focus on that's good thing. But nobody will make nice houses but forts
  3. In 7dtd just need light. In valheim flax and barley have to be planted on plains - this mean you have to make another base just for farming both. Then Jotun puffs and magecap need soil on Mistland. so you need 3 bases for now at least + animals from diffrent biomes. You need them to make better quality food - because better quality food = more Hp and stamina + magic. This mean you don't have only need plants but meat too - so you have tame animals which is pretty hard, then you have transport them to your base ( hard again). Plus there is fishing - 7dtd? you can live on everything just because most hp and stamina you take from perks. Little to do in valheim? there is always to do in valheim. Okay - you defeat first boss - so it's time to get copper and you need tin. You need a lot of wood to smelt them so you need a lot of wood to make coal etc. in this same time make base, tame boar, make carrot farm, beehive, boat because you will need to swim to get more ores etc. and... everything is effective. 7dtd? mining became worthless after adding tool parts - in older versions if you focused on mining you could get steel items so fast - so it was effective - now? better just to do quest or clean POI's with markering where are crates and bags then : lucky googles + candy and you will get faster better quality item that by crafting. In valheim you have to worry in black forest about shamans and brute if you have bronze eq . So if you get silver eq you can just walking there like in park just do stuff and that's it . 7DTD - low gamestage forest near trader - normal zombies 7dtd - higher gamestage near trader - bikers + screamers xd so what is a point to get better EQ if worlds get better too like in oblivion? In oblivion you have iron armor? bandits have iron armor. You have deadric armor? sup bandits get deadric armor - you had to hit bandit 15 times on begining of the game and after 40 hours of game you have to do this same. At least in oblivion you don't have level up ( you level up during sleep) so you can progress by looking on specifc weapons so you can reduce number of hit from 15 into 10 You saying that is always this same stuff - if you play a little bit - yeah this can looks this same but stuff get crazy - slime have resistans against piercing damage, lox against blunt damage etc. so you have think what do you want to use later - you made a spear but want to fight with bonemass - you will deal 1/4 of dmg. Then silver weapons get specific damage - Draugt bow - poison, frostner - cold with slowing down. And then magic showing up crossbow + harpoon which is realy useful. But you have to safe feathers for better arrows so you mostly fight melee 7dtd after junk guns - you find junk shotgun - ammo is everywhere so you don't have to worry anymore. Another shotgun just faster reloading and 2 bullet and a little bit more dmg but just a little bit then just change magasine and rate of fire. And that's it. So yeah you can make new workstation in 7dtd but faster you will find specific mod or weapon that you will have enough resources. I had this situation always 7dtd New weapon? So - usually stats of high quality of lower tier can be higer that low quality of newer weapon. so if you get better quality next tier - older tier stop respawn. But this mean more "better" enemy respawn while in valheim change nothing until you get better. I agree that after you make concrete it will be piovital of your base but... because there is nothing better. it's like sayint that you don't better shotgun that auto shotgun while there is no better autoshotgun. So what left? making more spikes because are the cheapest and trees are inifinte - mines are expensive. electicity traps need gas for generator - so you need parts, iron and gas for making and repairs but gas solar pannels can help a little bit so you can save some gas for auger or vehicles and gas in not unlimited = as much gase you use then farer you have to go so this mean you have safe more gas to be able to get more gas. So i don't say i want 7dtd to became valheim - i show on example what can be done better
  4. I hope that you are right and Devs will comfirmed that. Because this would have sense what you saying. Because - honestly this is only option for me to came back to 7dtd. Because there is not mods that would add new zombies which keep vanilia style
  5. There is complicate stuff Jost... okay i will give you example from 7DTD - you want a gun? find a crate. what will change in future let's say after 10 hours? you will be able to find in exactly this same house this "better" gun. And that's it. Nothing more nothing less. Farming - no matter what you find aloa or potato - you make farm plot and that's it. except that mushrooms have to be undeground . In valheim in theory you can put everywhere but you have to remember that enemies can brake easy you harvest - plus you have seed harvest and edible harvest + taming animals so you have to know how much you can spend to feed animals etc. in 7dtd have meadows , black forest , swamp mountain plains mistland and ocean. Meadows are just calm zone with weak enemies etc. and that's and except new thing that after kiling last boss will spawn mistland type of enemy in every biome - nothing will change here. black forest is a litte bit harder but swamp - poison and slow down water, mountain - cold and flying enemies. In 7dtd in theory there is similiar thing - in civilian zone you can met civilian in military base soldiers etc. but after X gamestage - you can find zombie soldiers radomly but after x time you will find everything everywhere. In older variants at least there existed "snow " variants but instead develep that idea it was removed. 7dtd workstations have upgrades - which give you feeling of doing well. In 7dtd in theory it's working similiar but... here you don't have reasons for that- you make advance workbench? you can't because you can't find better parts because you have to be in better gamestage - but you unlock this not by dunno - loot military bunkier but just do this over and over and over - you could get max tier just sitting if forest with primitive club. In valheim you can risk a lot ot get the best arrow in the game early - and you get reward. here no matter if you loot house and big tower - you will get this same reward. nothing change - in valheim you could get iron items before kiling first boss so it could be good reward. here is no reward - you get better but world get hard so.. change nothing. it's likei would give you a apple but anothet guy would take this apple from you so after all nothing changed
  6. Game about zombies is about.... zombies while zombies are underdeveloped element. If it had "comic" art style like their are bilion of bordelands - small number of variants isn't a problem. In Killing floor or serious sam there is told that enemies are literaly clones. 7dtd have realistic art style like - dayz , the forest or forza horizon. So yeah - you need many diffrent looking fans on stands in FiFA - so you need much more models of zombie in 7dtd where you can find in small house 3 this same zombies
  7. Game start simple - get eq to kill boss to be able to get better eq - simple right? but every another tier change a lot because - new biome have new rules, boss have resistances, you need specific and rare item to summon boss etc you see what i mean - there is no serious zombie pack mods for 7dtd. and to be honest - satanistic screamer? xd okay : i will show you something compire vanilia 7dtd zombie and from this mod then l4d2 common infected and this :Warsztat Steam::Extended Common Infected (steamcommunity.com)
  8. Simple games can be complicated too - Valheim is simple at first - find wood, made workbench make cube upgrade and kill boss then look for higher tier items and reapet. But then you have resistances, some plains can't grow everywhere, many types of baits, diffrent animals eats diffrent type of food, enemies have diffrent resistance and deal diffrent type of damage, in some areas water will slow your done or cold will slowly kill you and drain stamina . Simple base but many complicated submechanics. And returning to zombies - because i except as low as possible at this moment. And to be honest - normal enemies are the most common so need as much variants as possible - well most zombies would be just civilians after all right so need most variants. You can make many soldiers zombie types - begining of normal one ending on special ops or sapper outfit. But do i expect that? no. And to be honest - i don't even know what Devs want - first the only mutant was wight - now wight is normal zombie while screamer and spider looking like B.O.W. So - Behemot? nah zombie teens? nah grapping zombie? nah i just don't remember reason. So option what can be add without changing into "night of the dead" ( it's terrible about setting and character design Night of the Dead na Steam (steampowered.com) ) are very very limited So that's why i say about "zombie in diffrent clothes" because nothing more can be done xd
  9. I agree about firearms because it's part of balance too. Well Valheim have few tiers and that's good enough because it's good balance and you don;'t have to dunno find "sword of fallen star " by 21 hours like in terraria. But lack of variants of zombie is hurt a lot - i doesn't mean types but variants - this is variants you can just make more models and use this same animations. You have 11 variants of normal zombie in 7dtd. 11 VARIANTS. There is no excuse for so low number of them. Simplifications - simplicated crafting, food, building , removed wellness , removed corpses , and if good undestands clothing in future too ( i know there reason was technical stuff with preformance but it's simplification too). Only will be water more expended and that's it. Laz man - lack of content is part of simplification --> more building upgrades mean more content. Food smell - more content. simpler gun making --> less content Okay mods will expend recipes, weapon variety etc. because devs want to keep this simple okay no problem . - but you still have 11 variants of normal zombie. Can mods add more variants? Yes ( i don't argue about quality of this mods because i'm too much tired about this). But it's still problem of basic game - and this is can be solve by devs - just add 25 models and reused animations and it will be good enough to avoid clone wars syndrome. So this can be to be done and mods are not neccesary to solve this problem. and i think nobody would complain about more zombie models
  10. This is like saying : hey another TES VI will be buggy but thankfully game is designed by the developears to be modable so community will fix bugs. Mods cannot be excuse for lack of content
  11. I agree about that. They change from complexed and hard game into mods base. Meat smell was sign that game will be easier project zomboid in 3d but we get simpler dayz
  12. Well any news about skeletons or new enemies?
  13. Well... pathing issues are... good for zombies. Behemot see you in building? start destroying everything <everything> to get too you like SNK titan. he can't because because dunno - he fall in too big hole? explain in lore that behemot have brain issues. In warhammer fantasy goblin can't scratch his nose because it's too complicated for them - so pathing issues can be solved just by lore. In l4d2 if Tank can't find path to survivors will die - there is no explanation but by comics you can learn that can be brain issue. So if behemot would die from frustation... this could be good enough - it's not terraria or valheim where you kill enemies for loot
  14. not yet 😉 Well new player model looks good
  15. Someone missed me? there was talk about crafting i see
  16. Well.... still 7dtd 21 will be faster that new valve game annoucement
  17. Okay so vehicles will be change so my question will be connected with them: random mines on road will return?
  18. Not rly - bordelands as example or mg survive - enemies don't change their "lvl" except changes after finishing missions (after some missions enemies are stonger and spawn new types in this same place - no matter how "strong" you are) . No - this is not working that way in 7dtd - you don't have "chance to get better rewards" you don't have to find ak during 1 day - this is connected with gamestage. this not like uh.. DL1 when you have chance to find legendary weapon because you killed enemies in hard place. If you know your game stage - you know what will be in crate: Looting - Official 7 Days to Die Wiki (fandom.com) So: if you have 36 gamestage - no matter if this is just random stack of weapon or military crate - you have only chance to find pipe guns If i good remember they take dmg from traps - don't rember if spikes too but electricty for sure + mines
  19. So if would they colapse building maybe... better option is just do "ww1" - tons of barbed wire and spikes right? So demolisher will died on spike nad blow up them - so .... this will be not "vital" like colapsing building. Well i saw guys who making "towers" like - well exploting AI - so yes they were "fighing" but this was literaly meat grinder ( only repairing was neccesary) People play over and over in cod using this same gun. It's fun? for most not. just the most effective. So it's much more effective just camp like skyscrapper and just broke stairs - blood moon will end faster - you would just kiling spider and vultures. Fun facts - gainering experience here is such pointless as oblivion - yes you get access to better stuff but there will be better zombies - so progress is ilusionar now. it's no longer A11 when you could meet wright 1 day. Demolisher spawn on 153 gamestage - so if you want for example - survive 30 days - the best option is lvl up slowly
  20. It's not working that way. Depending how game designed - people will behave diffrent. People choose what is more optimal - this will broke fun? yes. but this is human nature
  21. Azazar1290 is pretty right. It's just too efective to not do this - so that's why he feel forced. it's like... dunno playing in cod - you can use 40 diffrent guns but 80% use this same guns and perks because are the most effective. So - to solve this maybe there should be redesing of demolisher- it would be pointless to go into tall factory if demolisher zombies will be focused on blowing up wall to collapse building right?
