  1. You're all the same... all of you guys who love every change TFP is doing, no matter how inconsistent with previous changes, you take it as an opportunity to defend their every move. I'll see myself out. See you in 2-3 years discussing another revamp of progression system 😂
  2. I craft because I like to, not because I need to. Aside from first set of tools I find almost everything better than what I can craft as I switched to intended mode of play: questing and looting only. Today I even found my first crack a book on this world and was happy that maybe I'll be able to make better gear than what I already looted, but unfortunately no.
  3. In one of my recent games I wanted to call screamer to farm xp. I put 12 fireplaces and waited for a few minutes... nothing. So I entered dm and seen that heat was below 80% (don't recall exact number, but it was yellow not red). So I pulled out my pipe pistol and started shooting. After a few clips I had finally called a screamer. I proceed to dispatch the small horde it summoned with my fists (no dogs, just regular zombies, IIRC not even running ones or just a few). The horde had another screamer, who called another mini-horde. I dispatched 2 or 3 additional hordes like that, before I took care of final screamer. But in my "base" I haven't got a screamer yet (but as I mostly loot now I don't have a lot going on there, forge and 2 campfires only, no chem station yet).
  4. I might be mistaken but it was like that for a long time... so feature?
  5. Might be RNG (the higher level my character are the better gear the traders had, including weapons). Also I think it's now tied to your level (i.e., new stat 'trader level' that is tied to your level, which daring adventurer increases).
  6. Another assumption there 😉 And given that extensive testing I'm confused why the balance is so messed up (and first patch already was largely about balance).
  7. I restarted way too many times 😅 Assuming quite a bit here...
  8. It's probably unpopular among general player base and newer players. Among older players I've seen this sentiment expressed very often. I started at A16 and that alpha was the best for me, everything further down the line feels like step backwards (aside from improving graphics and some quality of life changes). I also fired it up a few days ago and it was janky in some ways, but super fun compared to new alpha. But now I'll have to fire up A15 and see how that felt!
  9. Or hidden in ceilings, or hidden in close closet that they themselves cannot open the door to get into. Yes, and required greater care and possibly greater investment in skills as you had 2 additional skills to spec into. --- I just guess they like the jump scares and linear gameplay in one or two specific ways too much for stealth to be viable option...
  10. A few years ago I would say that being victims of early success made that no market pressure works on them (which is both good and bad). But also, they sold 14M copies. So this strategy (whatever it is) clearly works for them.
  11. The current implementation doesn't fit those criteria. I never found a magazine for some of the skills I didn't spec into (like armors, guns skills), but I did found a lot for a few (like food, traps and seed stuff - I found a lot of those, not putting points into related skills). In my current play I found very rarely any vehicle magazine till I put 3rd point into it. So based on that (and numerous other comments here and on reddit) it seems that current implementation biases some of the magazine probability a lot, while some are just frequent no matter what you do.
  12. That '/s' means sarcasm. Aimed at TFP and not you (as I agree with your comment 100%). Sorry if that came as I'm poking at you, as that wasn't my intention at all.
  13. Just play A20, and wait till modders fix the game. You would think that after selling 14m copies they could afford to hire an experience game designer that knows what he is doing. And preferably product manager to keep them on track and to get to gold before 2030. The problem with that is that the founders would need to relinquish absolute control on the game.
  14. It isn't fine. I used to loot seldomly (focusing on mining/building), but now that game play style is not viable anymore. lol, that made me laugh so hard, because it's so true 😂 They made all those POIs and you don't want to spent 99% of your time looting them? Shame on you! /s
  15. Or take Joe's America (or sth like that) with a dog that attacks you from behind just after 2 zombies engage you (that was were trader sent my for my first quest on day 1).
