1. The 4*4 thingy: I need to look into the decorations part of it, I've never messed with it, interesting. Is this how they spawn mini POIs like fridges with trash and a dead body? Of course, you also come across these regularly on servers:
2. Crap, I missed your previous messages! (Despite coming regularly to the forum, no notification. =/) These are beautiful!!! Awesome!! If you can (and don't mind), you can probably include something like the typical JonahBirch 4 blocks 2 high little thingy with a campfire and a secure wood storage. (And a dead body near.) Vanilla has a few small POIs like this. Did you include zombies? (Edit: Got to see that you did. Nice!) I've started a game using your POI pack and have encountered 3 so far. (If memory serves.) They're pretty damn cool!
3. Also, pure bullet sponges are not that fun (for some of us at least).
4. Hey, you have cool POIs in your mod zztong! I'll have to check them out. I know the vanilla POIs you're referring to though, but these are not really "player" bases. (Survivors may have been too vague in my original post.) These are more like camps for survivors, but usually, they're not defended for instance. They don't look like they've tried and failed to defend a horde night, you see what I mean?
5. I don't know if this has ever been brought up, but I think I'd really enjoy a new type of POI: Bases from other "survivors" who didn't make it. With somewhat of a defensive perimeter that has been breached by zombies and the survivor was killed. I think we could easily imagine multiple tiers of POI (starter 5x5, bases with some spikes and like a forge, bases with a broken electrical setup...). These could be remnants or filled with zombies. Also, added bonus, on servers, you'd never know if this is a real base or a POI. 😆 Has this ever been discussed?
6. To add a little bit to what Khaine says, in my own very humble opinion, sometimes, people may come to make a simple (very subjective) point and they're often welcomed by a methodical deconstruction (looking at moderators also here).
7. @The Gronk, you wouldn't happen to be looking for a new job? I'm sure another dev in the team wouldn't hurt.
8. Awesome! Congrats for the release and thanks for the server. 🙏 Happy holidays to you all!
9. For information, I had terrible FPS looking at the cities, even from afar, or in a POI when looking outside a window. Setting dynamic mesh to off fixed it. (At least regarding the cities part.)
10. So, I don't know if this was ever brought up, but I was looking for a way to improve my feel for progression in melee weapons without modifying the DPS (which can feel like a rabbit hole at times). What about targeting the buffs instead? (Bleed, knockback, stun...) For instance, a stone sledgehammer / wood club would almost never knockback a zombie, whereas the steel ones would have a much better chance to do so? This would allow for a 6 quality sledge to deal more damage than a 1 quality one with still making the upgrade to steel very much interesting. (Which might be debatable as of now.) Is there a mod like this? Is this even possible in the current state of the game?
11. Sorry, it means this adds another must fix bug to the existing list of bugs to fix before stable.
12. I would like to report a bug. I was hunted down by a feral zombie on day 1 and he murdered my face. 😂
13. Thank you guys for the hard word on SDX and now DMT, you are amazing.
14. I'm on the latest version if I'm not mistaken: λ java -version java version "1.8.0_221" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_221-b11) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.221-b11, mixed mode)
It's actually a known problem with the environment variable.
15. Good idea! By the way, if I may, it would be nice to see the exceptions in the output of the UI (instead of just in the console). (But it would be QOL.)
16. For those who run into the "TOO LITTLE" error, I had an environment variable named _JAVA_OPTIONS that was set to -Xmx256m. Passing the -Xmx6g argument didn't override the environment variable for some reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Nice tool by the way!
17. Ok, I had an environment variable named _JAVA_OPTIONS and set to -Xmx256m. Passing the -Xmx6g argument didn't override the environment variable for some reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
18. Yes Alloc, I checked in the task manager to be sure.
19. Also, I tried a 4k map which starts the generation, but crashes at step 2 as well. exporting (1/3) exporting (2/3) image saved: C:\Users\Me\Desktop\7DTD\NitroGen_WorldGenerator/output/NitroGenMap/genHM.png Exception in thread "Thread-2" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.awt.image.DataBufferInt.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.awt.image.Raster.createPackedRaster(Unknown Source) at java.awt.image.DirectColorModel.createCompatibleWritableRaster(Unknown Source) at java.awt.image.BufferedImage.<init>(Unknown Source) at nitrogen.terraingen.c.b(Unknown Source) at nitrogen.gui.NitroGenUI.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Oh, and I'm on windows 7 if it matters.
20. Hey all. I tried to use the NitroGen v0.355 alpha but got an error: running generation thread ... running terrain generation ... image saved: C:\Users\Me\Desktop\7DTD\NitroGen_WorldGenerator/output/FlatLanders/radiation.png Exception in thread "Thread-2" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space at java.awt.image.DataBufferByte.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.awt.image.Raster.createInterleavedRaster(Unknown Source) at java.awt.image.BufferedImage.<init>(Unknown Source) at nitrogen.terraingen.c.b(Unknown Source) at nitrogen.gui.NitroGenUI.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Ran it using java -Xmx6g -jar nitrogen.jar. Java version is 1.8.0_221 Anyone else has the same issue? By the way, an option to save/load configs would be great.
